Siren ambience Waahila Ridge State Recreation Area 7-2-2018
HONOLULU- The State’s monthly test of the Statewide Outdoor Warning Siren System, coordinated with the test of the Live Audio Broadcast segment of the Emergency Alert System, is scheduled for MONDAY, JULY 2, 2018 at 11:45 a.m.
The warning sirens are used to alert the public to emergencies. During this monthly test, all warning sirens will sound a one-minute Attention Alert Signal (Steady Tone). There will be no exercise or drill accompanying the test.
The Attention Alert Signal informs residents to turn on a radio or television for information and instruction for an impending emergency, or if in a coastal inundation area, evacuate to higher ground.
The outdoor warning sirens are one part of a three-component emergency notification system. A simultaneous test of the Emergency Alert System is conducted with the siren system, in cooperation with Hawaii’s broadcast industry. In the event of a real emergency, warning sirens and Emergency Alert Broadcasts would be joined by alerts via the Wireless Emergency Alert system, which delivers sound-and-text warnings to mobile telephones and compatible devices.

Here's my location at about 1,102 ft above sea level.
Today's siren test was late. It began at about 11:51 AM.
To my right a Thunderbolt 1000T in Upper Manoa about .78 mile away. To my left you can hear a DSA at Palolo Valley Field about .54 mile away. At the tail end of the video you can hear a Thunderbolt 1000T winding down at the Unversity of Hawaii which is about 1.68 mile away. Enjoy!

Kaiwi State Scenic Shoreline Trail
One of Hawaii's beautiful state parks, the Ka Iwi State Scenic Shoreline features stunning views. Located between Waimanalo and Hawaii Kai along Kalaniana'ole Highway (Hwy 72), the Ka Iwi State Scenic Shoreline attracts many visitors. Amongst them are those eager to catch a glimpse of the migratory humpback whales or Makapu'u Point Lighthouse. The whale watching season along the Ka Iwi State Scenic Shoreline runs from November to March. Over 10,000 whales can be observed close to this shoreline each year, with numbers peaking from January to March. Whales arrive in the waters of the Hawaiian Islands to mate, give birth and nurse their calves. Bring your binoculars to be able to spot the whales better. The hike along the shoreline is a short one (1 mile up, 1 mile back) along the paved, former lighthouse access road. This takes you up to a lookout spot above the lighthouse (the lighthouse itself is not accessible) where you are treated to sweeping views of Koko Head and Koko Crater along Oahu's southeastern shoreline. Offshore islets can be seen from various points along the trail, as well of course, as the 1909 Makapu'u Lighthouse with its red roof burning bright against the deep blue of the sea behind it.

Breaking: Hawaii Mandatory Evacuation of Thousands *Sirens Sounding
We were wondering if it was going to happen and it is. Lava is literally spewing up from underneath a neighborhood. This is a very serious situation and life changing for many. Keep everyone in your prayers.
The magma has crossed Highway 130. New Vents and Outbreaks can occur. Also some schools have been closed around the Leilani Estates area.
