Visiting Abel Tasman, walking the Wainui falls track
This is one of the shorter walks in Abel Tasman. You can drive right to the car park and walk from there. We enjoyed our time, and spent roughly two hours there.

Last weekend (9th April 2016) we walked up the Wainui Falls Track at the north of the Abel Tasman National Park. It is a great short 30 - 40 minute walk (one way) up to a waterfall.

... DIE PERFEKTE GEBURTSTAGSÜBERRASCHUNG!
Das Highlight der Südinsel erlebten wir an einem ganz besonderen Tag - Richards Geburtstag. Schon als ich mit den ersten Recherchen zu Neuseeland begann, war für mich klar, dass die Region um den Abel Tasman National Park ein Must See unserer Tour über die Südinsel sein wird.
Ich buchte eine zauberhafte kleine Hütte im Grünen (Waitapu Springs B&B) in dem sympathisch klingendem Ort Takaka und überraschte Richard mit einem Frühstück in dem gemütlichen The Wholemeal Cafe.
Die ganze Region rund um Takaka ist Erholung pur. Umgeben von zwei Nationalparks (Kahurangi-Nationalpark und Abel Tasman National Park) wartet hinter jeder Kurve ein neuer sehenswerter Ort. Verschiedene Felsformationen aus Granit und Marmor säumen die Landzungen, die im dichten Wald verborgen liegen. Zwischen Wald und Wasserlinie finden sich feinsandige Strände ohne Fußspuren oder Massentourismus. Kristallklare Bäche schlängeln sich durch moosige Täler und münden ins türkisblaue Meer.

A short walk through lush native bush leads to the cascading Wainui Falls, the largest and most accessible falls in Golden Bay/Mohua - there's a long swing bridge for children to enjoy as well. It's one of our best short walks.
