Walking in FRANKFURT (am Main) / Germany - 4K 60fps (UHD)
Frankfurt am Main in Germany is the financial center of Germany and with the European Central Bank now also in Europe. Thanks to an international vibe it is a vibrant city that many German visitors will know from the busy airport.
We start today's walk near the Opera House near the Euro sign. On our way around the city centre we visit the Römer and City Hall, push our way on the busy walking street Zeil and also check out the newly constructed old town. We end the walk at the Main river which is great for walking, biking, inline skating and enjoyed by locals and tourists alike - especially on weekends.

Walking in FRANKFURT / Germany ????????- Old Town, Banking District, Bahnhofsviertel - 4K 60fps (UHD)
This walk in Frankfurt am Main / Germany we start at the Römer which is the town hall since the 15th century. We walk to the nearby Eiserner Steg - a pedestrian bridge crossing over to the Sachsenhausen district.
From the other side of the Main river we can see the skyline of Frankfurt. We return over the bridge to the old town and make our way to the Bahhofsviertel - the train station. On the way we see the Paul's Church, the walking street Zeil and the old opera house. People enjoy their afternoon at a little food and wine event - the Fressgass-Fest.
We make a detour and visit the office block Taunusanlage. There is in the banking district many people work in Frankfurt. In the evening now it's fairly quiet though. Soon we reach the Bahnhofsviertel and the train station where we end this walk.

Today, #Frankfurt is home to the European Central Bank, the German Stock Exchange and an airport, which handles almost 60 million travelers a year.

Cross the Eiserner Steg into Frankfurt’s ancient heart, the Römerberg. After being devastated by allied bombs in World War Two, many of the square’s most important buildings have been lovingly restored. From the Römerplatz, head deeper into the old city to #discover important buildings such as Paulskirche and Goethe-Haus.
Don’t miss the many specialist museums, such as the German Film Museum, the German Architecture Museum and the Stadel Museum.

The next morning we first visit Goethe's birthplace at the Großer Hirschgraben. Johann Wolfgang Goethe lived here until he went to Weimar at the age of 26. The phase was interrupted by his years of study in Leipzig and Strasbourg. In the 2nd World War, the house was destroyed, but the facilities could be brought to safety before. From 1947 to 1951 the reconstruction took place. The building to the left of it is currently being converted into a modern museum.
Without staying long at the Goethe House, we go on to the Roßmarkt, a square with the Gutenberg monument in the center. One set it up to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the invention of the letterpress art.
From here we can see the panorama terrace on the Maintower, which we will visit later.
Directly next to the Roßmarkt is the Goetheplatz. This square is also dominated by a monument. It represents, as you might expect Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Yet, at our visit, the statue was wrapped in a European flag, which probably proves that Goethe was a European. With this action, Pulse of Europe e.V. wants to set a sign for the future of Europe and counteract the divisive tendencies.
We cross the third adjacent square, the Rathenauplatz, turn into the Steinweg and reach the Hauptwache, a central traffic junction of the city. The Hauptwache used to be a guardroom and prison in the middle of the city. The most prominent prisoner was Johann Erasmus von Senckenberg, who spent 26 years here.
The silhouette of the Hauptwache has changed considerably in recent decades. In 2005, one demolished the telecommunications tower behind the Galeria Kaufhof and replaced by a huge shopping mall and business center. We stroll along the Zeil, Frankfurt's most important shopping street, in the meantime planted with trees.
We also find Christmas stands at the Hauptwache. The one with Christmas cookies for dogs seemed the most original to us.
Suddenly we see a group of people with warning vests carrying lots of shopping bags. They stand motionless on the sidewalk. The running passers-by look somewhat surprised at the group.
We briefly enter into conversation with Prof. Snežana Golubović from the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, who stage artistic interventions in public space here.

Frankfurt, officially Frankfurt am Main is a metropolis and the largest city in the German state of Hesse and the fifth-largest city in Germany. Frankfurt is an alpha world city and a global hub for commerce, culture, education, tourism and transportation. It's the site of many global and European corporate headquarters.
A Walk Around The Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof
On a cold and miserable day in December, very close to Christmas, I stopped off at the Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof for my transfer to a French train to Paris Est. It was the middle of the afternoon, but I felt like it was 8 pm. I had enough to time to make this short film about my stay in Frankfurt.
Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof (German for Frankfurt (Main) main station), often abbreviated as Frankfurt (Main) Hbf and sometimes translated as Frankfurt central station,[2] is the busiest railway station in Frankfurt, Germany.[2] The name affix Main comes from the city's full name, Frankfurt am Main. In terms of railway traffic, Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof is the busiest railway station in Germany. With about 450,000 passengers per day the station is the most frequented railway station in Germany (together with Hamburg Hauptbahnhof) and one of the most frequented in Europe.
Walking Tour of Frankfurt
So today we did a walking tour of the city of Frankfurt, which was super cool. It was great, since I've never ridden a train before.
It has been so. Incredibly. Hot. For, like, the entire past week. Ugh. I'm having too much fun to care though.
I love old cities.

FRANKFURT, officially Frankfurt am Main is a metropolis and the largest city in the German state of Hesse and the fifth-largest city in Germany. Frankfurt was a city state, the Free City of Frankfurt, for nearly five centuries, and was one of the most important cities of the Holy Roman Empire; it lost its sovereignty in 1866.
In 2015, Frankfurt has a population of 732,688 within its administrative boundaries, and 2.3 million in its urban area. The city is at the centre of the larger Frankfurt Rhine-Main Metropolitan Region, which has a population of 5.5 million and is Germany's second-largest metropolitan region after Rhine-Ruhr. Since the enlargement of the European Union in 2013, the geographic centre of the EU is about 40 km (25 mi) to the east of Frankfurt's central business district, the Bankenviertel. Frankfurt is culturally and ethnically diverse, with around half of the population, and a majority of young people, having a migration background. A quarter of the population are foreign nationals, including many expatriates.

Frankfurt - Germany's ultimate skyline
Join in on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with #germany25reunified and
Over the past 25 years, stunning skyscrapers have been rising up in Frankfurt to form Germany’s most impressive
skyline. This breathtaking silhouette includes Commerzbank Tower, the tallest building in Germany. It is also no
surprise that the city is home to Europe’s third biggest airport, with 1,400 planes arriving and departing every day
and up to 90 take-offs and landings per hour. Frankfurt also prides itself on its heritage, including the old quarter
around the Römer town hall and the house in which Goethe was born.
Many thanks to and
