Cape Route 62 - Best road trip in the world
Cape Route 62 is the tourist route in the Western Cape and Eastern Cape, South Africa that meanders between Cape Town and Oudtshoorn, the Langkloof and Port Elizabeth, offering the shorter, scenic alternative to the N2 highway.
It's an area of magnificent landscapes and towering cliffs, crystal clear streams and an abundance of trees and indigenous flora - all contribute to make Paarl, Wellington, the Breede River Valley, Klein Karoo and Langkloof some of South Africa's most diverse regions. The ever-changing colours of the majestic mountains, scenic passes, rivers, vineyards and orchards, as well as the multitude of attractions, will offer you an unforgettable adventure - whether this is in the physical sense or simply a kaleidoscope of scenic tranquillity.
The easily accessible towns, nestled along the valleys, all offer ample opportunity for discovery. From visits to wineries and game reserves, tribal art, cultural tours, museums and for the more adventurous: hiking trails and mountain climbing, 4x4 routes, canoeing, horse riding, even ostrich riding, fishing and caving ...
Cape Route 62 lends itself so well to self-drive holidays because of the excellent road conditions, sufficient accommodation offerings along the route and the diversity of attractions you'll encounter along your drive.
Cape Route 62 is an exciting experience, even for the well-travelled. When you are tired after a long day's travel, you can even unwind in one of the region's invigorating hot-springs, revel in luxury or relax in rustic tranquillity.
In 2017 A CNN Travel poll, as voted by tourists and travel journalists, puts Route 62, as the top road trip destination in the world, beating out a host of legendary global grand tours including Canada’s Alcan Highway and the Ticlio Pass in Peru.

How to easily install your dashcam visit:
traficam cape town was created on 23 August 2017. The videos uploaded was not intentionally recorded or edited to highlight any good or bad drivers on our roads, but just an observation of my driving from point a-z (atoz). Driver education is the key motivation as to why I installed a dashcam in my vehicle. Lets face it, as drivers we do sometimes make mistakes on the road without even realising it. When we do look back we can educate ourselves and learn from our mistakes. The camera I'm using is the StealthDashCam™ from Techmard.

Hermanus Travel Guide - South Africa Memorable Time
Hermanus Travel Guide - South Africa Memorable Time
Hermanus is situated at South Africa's south coast, near the Garden Route. Hermanus, a picturesque seaside town situated in the Overberg area and on Walker Bay, is a popular holiday village close to Cape Town. Two words come to mind: holiday & Southern Right whale watching.
The town, embraced by majestic mountaintops, is most famous for being the home of the Southern Right Whale. Every year these gentle creatures of the sea migrate along the coast of South Africa with Walker Bay as one of their destinations, to calve and nurture their young.
From the harbour of Hermanus, boat trips depart on a regular basis to see these majestic whales from up-close. One can also stay ashore as Hermanus is the best land based whale watching destination in South Africa, and possibly the world, especially during the Hermanus Whale Festival.
Apart from whale watching, the area of Hermanus boasts some excellent holiday accommodation such as the Misty Waves. Also, plenty of possibilities to spend the day in an active way: hiking, fishing, boating, horse back riding, and more.
Hermanus is around 1.5 hours drive from Cape Town Airport or 2 hours drive from the centre of Cape Town. Follow the N2 eastwards from Cape Town or westwards when coming from George and leave it near Caledon to join the R43. Alternatively, if coming from Cape Town, join the R44 at Somerset West to drive via the beautiful coastal road that takes you through Gordon's Bay, Betty's Bay (stop off at the penguin colony here if you have time) and Kleinmond and links up with the R43. The centre of Hermanus is compact and can be explored on foot from most of the guesthouses.
Hermanus is in the Cape Floristic Region and thus has one of the highest plant diversity levels in the world. The principal vegetation type of this region is Fynbos, a mixture of evergreen shrub-like plants with small firm leaves. In the local Fernkloof Nature Reserve, 1,474 plant species have thus far been collected and identified.
Grotto Beach is the largest beach in Hermanus and has also been proclaimed a Blue Flag beach. Blue flag beaches meet international Environment, Safety and Management criteria. Other beaches with Blue Flag status include Voëlklip, Onrus, Kammabaai, Langbaai, and Hawston.
Hermanus hosts an annual whale festival at the end of September, to celebrate the calving and mating season. Eco-Tourism is the main theme of the Hermanus whale festival with the Eco-Marine Village. Residents and visitors celebrate the migration of Southern Right Whales and other marine wildlife with ocean-themed activities and exhibitions, emphasising education and environmentally responsible adventures and activities. Prior to this main whale festival a Kalfiefees (or Calf Festival) is held, to welcome the first whales (usually in August). Both festivals are characterised by food and craft stalls, environmental presentations and South African drama productions.

Batavia Boutique Hotel
For a truly relaxing holiday on the Western Cape of South Africa, consider heading to the town of Stellenbosch. Once there, the Batavia Boutique Hotel is the perfect place to stay to feel at peace. This includes several beaches, such as the Strand and Bikini Beach. It also includes other sites, such as Table Mountain, Robben Island and the Kirstenbosch Gardens. After a busy day, the Batavia Boutique Hotel is a great place to come home to. The hotel is decorated with fantastic antiques, interesting artwork, and leather furnishings. It offers a dining room, a swimming pool, a patio, and a television lounge for entertainment purposes. There is also a meeting room which can be used by business travelers. Places to see in ( Warminster - UK )
Places to see in ( Warminster - UK )
Warminster is a town and civil parish in western Wiltshire, England, by-passed by the A36 and the partly concurrent A350 between Westbury and Blandford Forum. The River Were runs through the town and can be seen running through the middle of the town park. The Minster Church of St Denys sits on the River Were. The name Warminster first occurs in the early 10th century.
Warminster is located in south-west Wiltshire, near to the Somerset border. The town is surrounded by six hills, providing shelter and security for early settlers. The area is made up of chalk, which provides good drainage to the nearby River Wylye, providing plenty of arable and pasturable land near to the village. The Wylye is a tributary of the River Avon. Warminster is also close to Selwood Forest.
As Warminster is in an area of fertile land, much of its early economy was through farming, especially corn. William Daniell commented in 1879 that Warminster lay 'in the midst of a fine corn-country', and Warminster's market provided the backbone of the economy through the 16th to 19th centuries. Warminster's clothing trade suffered greatly in the early 19th century, as there was no suitable river to power machinery during a period of industrialisation.
Warminster has a number of local venues which facilitate cultural events for the community. This includes a library, museum, five theatres and cinemas, eleven halls and a number of pubs. There are many festivals and events held annually within the area including Warminster festival, Vintage bus run and heritage open days. Warminster is twinned with Flers in France.
Close by to Warminster is stately home Longleat, which has included Longleat Safari Park since 1966; the first drive-through safari park outside Africa, home to over 500 animals, including giraffe, monkeys, rhino, lion, tigers and wolves. The town includes a theatre, the Warminster Athenaeum, an 1858 Grade II listed building. The Warminster Lake Pleasure Grounds were laid out in 1924 and facilities include tennis courts, play area and boating lake. They were officially opened by the Marquess of Bath on Saturday 26 July 1924.
The east of the town is situated along the A36 road and the Warminster service station is on the route. The Warminster railway station, opened in September 1851, is managed by Great Western Railway
