Qianmen Street runs south from Tiananmen Square stretching axross a huge 845-meters. It is one of the last remnants of the business centers of the old Beijing. Also a popular destination for tourists to take pictures and indulge in various Chinese cuisines and gift shops.
It has been transformed into a modern commercial pedestrian street, the most second visited traffic-free street after Wangfujing Street in Beijing.

Sightseeing with Beijing's Free Walking Tour
To join Leo on his FREE walking tours of Beijing, sign up here:
When I first moved to Beijing two and a half years ago, I was keen to explore the city. I had done free walking tours all over Europe and loved them so wondered if there were any in China. I stumbled across Leo’s Beijing Walking Tours (the First and only Free Walking Tour in the city) and decided to check it out. There was nobody else on the tour so I had my very own private tour guide. It was a really enjoyable tour and I learnt a lot about the city as well as got to explore the Hutongs, which gave me a taste of what the city was like many years ago. Two and a half years later, I decided to go on the same tour again. It was great to see Leo and how he made certain adjustments to make the experience even better. Here’s a glimpse into what we saw.
0:50 The Walking Tour begins
1:43 The cute dogs of Beijing’s Hutongs
2:38 The Hutongs of Beijing
3:26 Going inside a Siheyuan (Hutong residence)
4:04 Meeting the Cricket superstar of Beijing
4:43 The cute small cars of Beijing
5:13 Houhai and watching the sunset over the Houhai Lake in the Xicheng District Beijing
6:43 Jingshan Park Beijing overlooking the Forbidden City
7:41 Meet Leo of Beijing Walking Tours

I and my family travelled to China for 24 days to see the top sights in China, The Forbidden City Beijing China is one of the most exiting palace that we visited in Beijing, China.

The Forbidden City Beijing China was the political center of China for over 500 years.
It was completed 1420. The palace was the home to 24 emperors during the Ming and the Qing Dynasties.
1,000.000 workers and including craftsmen worked 14 years to build #The_Forbidden_City_Beijing_China.
Why is it called the forbidden city?
The palace takes its english name The Forbidden City because it was truly off limit for public no one could enter or leave the complex without official permission.
In 1925 The Forbidden City Beijing was transformed into the palace museum to display traditional Chinese architecture and rare treasure of ming and qing dynasty.

Beijing, China... Walking through hutongs and xiejie's
This is from my last day traveling in Beijing, China and just decided to go through a walking tour of some of the allies (hutongs) and bypasses (xiejjie), in between my hostel and the Tian'anmen Square, eventually ending back at my hostel, the 365 Inn.
Filmed on my iPhone 5s.
Edited in iMovie 11.

Guangzhou Beijing Road Info:
Located in the centre of Guangzhou, Beijing Lu Street is a cultural, entertainment and commercial street. It is considered the most prosperous area in the history of Guangzhou. The average daily visitor number here is a staggering 400,000 people on a normal day. During public holidays that number could be 600,000 and beyond.
The full length of Beijing Road runs from Guangwei Road in the north, to Yanjiang Middle Road in the south and the Beijing Road Commercial Pedestrian Street section runs from Zhongshan Road to Wenming Middle Road. There are also shops to the east and west of the main pedestrian section.
The street is famous in Guangzhou, having a long history dating back to the Qing Dynasty. In the 1920’s it was named Wing Hon Road, later to be renamed Han Road after a famous national leader, only to be renamed again in 1949 with the rise of the Chinese Communist Party, and the name remains today. You can actually see that historic beginning, which still lies underneath the road that’s walked on today. In the pedestrian section, there are large glass panels and you can look down into and excavation which reveals the historic road from the times past.

Guangzhou Tianhe Info:
Tianhe District (Chinese: 天河区) is one of the eleven districts of Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province. In Chinese, the name Tianhe literally means a river in the sky/heavens, which is also a Chinese name for the Milky Way. It is bordered by Yuexiu District on the west, Baiyun District on the north and Huangpu District on the east. Haizhu District is on its south, though they are separated by the Pearl River.
Tianhe became a district in the 1980s as the city expanded its size. Back then, it was east of Dongshan District (which was merged into Yuexiu in 2005) and it was more suburban-like if not rural like. Even though a majority of colleges and universities in the city were located in the district, the rest of the district was mostly composed of rice fields.
Symbolic landmarks of Guangzhou located in Tianhe District are Citic Plaza, Guangzhou International Finance Center, Guangzhou Opera House, and the Guangdong Museum. The 6th and 9th of The National Games of the People's Republic of China and the 2010 Asian Games were also held in Tianhe District, Guangzhou.
