Sailing to Wallilabou, St Vincent, Will we meet some pirates?
Leaving Bequia, we set sail for St Vincent. We had a stopover in Blue lagoon, fighting wind and current to get there, but thats another video here on this channel.
Now we are heading for Wallillabo, the town where Jack Sparrow comes sailing in to the dock on a sinking ship in the first Pirates of the caribbean movie. I have to say that the bay is much smaller that I thought it was but it still has some pirate vibes over it self.
We didn't launch the dinghy, so we had to swim ashore. scary, but ok:)

COLONEL RIVER IN THE VERMONT VALLEY OF ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES, WI
This is the Colonel river in the Vermont Valley in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. It is located on mainland St. Vincent in the rural South Leeward valley of Vermont, which is not too far from one of the prime eco-tourism attractions of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the Vermont Nature Trail.
The river is very DEEP. So if you are game for a nice swim, especially on your way to the Vermont Nature Trail, feel free to take a dip.

Pirates of the Caribbean - Filmed in Wallilabou Bay, St. Vincent
The opening scenes of the first movie, Curse of The Black Pearl, were filmed in Wallilabou Bay which is located a little to the north of Barrouallie on the leeward coast of St. Vincent. It is a picturesque anchorage for sailors and it's also the port where Captain Jack Sparrow infamously set foot on the jetty just as his small boat sank beneath the waves. The three pirates he sees hanging as he approaches land were hanging at the natural rock arch at the entrance to the bay.

Though the villagers of South Rivers have enjoyed the hidden treasure of Willbefree Falls, the wider Vincentian community have recently been drawn to the Falls that is tucked away deep in the mountains. River 14, naturally crafted in nature is also one of this rural community attractions.
This week's episode was captured in the Village of South Rivers highlighting these two main attractions.

Diving in Saint Vincent - Troumaca Bay - April 2015
Troumaca Bay, situated on the Leeward coast of Saint Vincent, is a fascinating location for diving, with large barrel sponges and well developed coral heads. There are two different dives, which range from 6-40 metres deep.
The steep slope is covered by many soft corals and there is a great profusion of fish life. It is covered with gorgonians (sea fans) and sponges with a variety of reef fish. Schools of fish can be found in and around the reef, as well as moray eels, lobsters and much more.
In the shallower parts of the reef, large boulders are covered in sponges and gorgonians, as well as cleaner shrimps found in abundance. These reefs provide a shelter for trumpet fish, filefish and sometimes seahorses.

We go from the hiking center a 1/3 of the way up an active volcano (La Soufriere) then to Wallilabou Bay (one of the filming locations for the 1st Pirates of the Caribbean movie) and Dark View Falls & finally checking in to our resort at Buccament Bay-

St Vincent World Heritage Biodiversity Site
Northwest St Vincent in the Caribbean Sea. Location on the slopes of the active Volcano Mt Soufriere, including Larakai Falls, the tallest waterfall in the entire Caribbean. We donated 10 mooring balls to Richmond Vale Academy to promote yacht tourism and bring much needed income to locals. Training, marketing, and maintenance instruction was also provided, including setting up a local committee and fund to pay for future maintenance. Dedicated to my brother Larry.
