I've just added a new film to my Tourism: England: Derbyshire playlist, here: of views around the city centre of Derby. The film was taken on Easter weekend 2019 and features a range of cultural sites including monuments, attractions, religious buildings and pubs, as well as transport and the general infrastructure of the city including streets and transport hubs.
The film begins with the approach into Derby Station by train, and ends with the departure from Derby Station by train. Stately homes such as the 16th Century Chatsworth house and Haddon Hall on the edge of the Peak District in Bakewell are steeped in history and have both been used as a filming location for many British period films including Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre. 20 miles up the M1 will take you to Bolsover Castle, a fascinating 17th Century Stuart mansion with extensive grounds. To really step back in time, you can visit the Tramway Museum in Crich just 6 miles away and experience a period village scene and ride on vintage trams whilst admiring the stunning Peak District scenery.
But what about retail therapy? Our beautiful homes at The Riddings have you covered on that front too. Just 10 minutes’ drive away is McArthur Glen designer outlet. This shopper’s paradise has over 65 stores covering a whole host of leading brands from Adidas to Yankee Candle all with huge discounts. As well as all these great places to visit, the Peak District National Park is around 15 miles from The Riddings. Memorial Stadium (Bristol)
The Memorial Stadium, also commonly known by its previous name of the Memorial Ground, is a sports ground in Bristol, England, dedicated to the memory of local rugby union players of the city killed during the First World War. It is currently the home stadium of Bristol Rovers. From its foundation in 1921 until moving to Ashton Gate in 2014 the Memorial Ground was the home to Bristol Rugby.
The stadium is also used for the rugby varsity between the city's two universities, University of the West of England and University of Bristol. In 2013, the stadium hosted the Rugby League World Cup Group D match between the Cook Islands and the USA attracting a crowd of 7,247. Gloucester Rugby played Bath in September and Exeter in October 2015 in pre-season friendlies whilst their home ground, Kingsholm Stadium, was being used for the Rugby World Cup being held in England.

The Yorkshire Air Museum & Allied Air Forces Memorial is an air museum in England on the site of the former RAF Elvington airfield. The Yorkshire Air Museum was founded, and first opened to the public, in the early 1980s.
The Yorkshire Air Museum & Allied Air Forces Memorial is the largest independent air museum in Britain and is the most original Second World War RAF Bomber Command station open to the public. It is also the only Allied Air Forces Memorial in Europe. The museum has a good international reputation and profile with established branches in Canada and France and is supported by over 4,000 registered friends across the world. It is a Corporate Member of Friends of the Few (Battle of Britain Memorial) and the Royal Aeronautical Society.
The President of the Museum/Memorial is Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton and Vice Presidents include; the Chief of the Air Staff, Sir Andrew Pulford; Chief of the French Air Force, General Andre Lanata; Supreme Allied Commander NATO, General Denis Mercier; Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu; and TV Presenter, Jan Leeming.
Yorkshire Air Museum principal activity is in education and the history of flight, through which it is involved with aerospace manufacturers and organisations via its long term Reach for the Sky project which delivered the first KS2 History of Aviation educational resource book to all 26,000 primary schools in UK, supported by RAeS and the Ministry of Transport.
The Yorkshire Air Museum has around 50 aircraft spanning the development of aviation from 1853 up to the latest GR4 Tornado. Several aircraft including Victor, Nimrod, Buccaneer, Sea Devon, SE5a, Eastchurch Kitten; DC3 Dakota; are kept live and operated on special Thunder Days during the year. Over 20 historic vehicles and a Registered Archive containing over 500,000 historic artefacts and documents are also preserved at the Museum, which is also the Official Archive for the National Aircrew Association and National Air Gunners Association. It is nationally registered and accredited through DCMS/Arts Council England and is a registered charity.
A permanent exhibition on RAF Bomber Command was opened at the museum by life member, Sir David Jason. In 2010 a new exhibition called Pioneers of Aviation, and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, was opened featuring the lives and achievements of Sir George Cayley, Sir Barnes Wallis, Robert Blackburn, Nevil Shute and Amy Johnson.

Highlights from the performance of Dark Clouds are Smouldering into Red at Mansfield Palace Theatre, performed by Sinfonia Viva and Tom Dale Company with participants from Farmilo Primary School, St. Peter’s Church of Engalnd Primary School and Queen Elizabeth Academy and conducted by Jamie Phillips. Performed as part of Sinfonia Viva’s 2014 tour commemorating the outbreak of the First World War with a new music and dance commission from composer James Redwood and choreographer Tom Dale. The project was run in association with Mansfield Palace Theatre, Nottinghamshire Music Hub and Orchestras Live.

The Hedge Priest English Folktale From Derbyshire
Hi, welcome to our channel Northworthy Sagas & Stories! In this video, I am telling an old English folktale from Derbyshire called the hedge priest. This folktale is set during winter. The priest is walking across the moors of north Derbyshire when it begins to snow heavy. He gets trapped under a hedge like tree with two unmarried couples. What happens to them in the end.
