Native American Artist Series: Andy Wilbur Peterson
Andy is a member of the Skokomish (Twana) Nation. He was born in Shelton, Washington in 1955. He has lived in the Skokomish community all of his life.
At the age of twelve, he became aware of his culture. It was then that he learned to make baskets and to gather basket materials with Skokomish elders Louisa Pulsifer and Emily Miller. After some experimentation in different mediums he became inspired to try carving after a tour he took at the Capital Museum in Olympia, Washington.
At the age of eighteen he taught himself how to carve, paint and make bentwood boxes. His early work was mostly in the Northern style because that was most available and visible in order to learn from. Andy has carved and created many different types of art such as bent wood boxes, drums, rattles, masks, paddles, speaker staffs, bowls and totem poles.
In 1987, Andy graduated from the Evergreen State College with a B.A. While attending Evergreen, he assisted Makah artist Greg Colfax in carving a 12' Woman Welcoming Figure for the campus. Through this experience he became inspired and started researching Salish style art. His research began in the archives of both the University and Capital Museums. Later visits to the University of British Columbia broadened Wilbur's knowledge. Another educational influence was the work of Andy's great grandfather, Henry Allen, an artist talented at both carving and storytelling. Allen was also the major informant of an ethnographic study of the Twana People.
Andy has contracted to do art work for many different organizations and private collectors. In 1987 he was nominated for the Heritage Award through the National Endowment for the Arts. Some of Wilbur's shows include the following :
2008 Seattle Art Museum Seattle, WA
1996 Burke Museum Seattle, WA
1994 King County Arts Commission Seattle, WA
1992 Capital Museum Olympia, WA
1992 Northwest Native Expressions Jamestown S'Kallam, WA
1991 Quintana Galleries Portland, OR
1990 Legacy Seattle, WA
1984 Evergreen State College Olympia, WA
1984 Portland Art Institute Portland, OR
1984 Snow Goose Seattle, WA
1984 WA State Art Commission Olympia, WA
1983 Skokomish Tribal Center Shelton, WA
In 1994 -95, Andy worked with Steve Brown on a 10' tall Salish style pole for King County Arts Commission in Seattle. Later in 1995, along with Greg Colfax, he completed a Westcoast style Thunderbird pole that is 9' tall with a wingspan of 16' that is installed at the Washington State Arts Commission in Olympia, WA.
Andy Wilbur continues to contribute to the revival of Salish art in many ways. Over the years he has taught carving, graphics and painting classes to people of all ages at many schools and to many Tribes. His goals are to continue carving and teaching and to learn all he can about his traditional life style and art forms.

The Criminal Act of Treason
THE ACT OF TREASON IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Acts Amendment and Repeal Courts and Legal Practices Act 2003
Section 130. Supreme Court Act 1935 amended -- (THE MASONIC ACT)
(1)The amendments in this section are to the Supreme Court Act 1935
(3)Section 9(1) is amended by deleting Her Majesty and inserting
instead — the Governor .
(4)Section 15(1) is amended by deleting Royal Arms and inserting
instead — armorial bearings of the State .
(9)Section 119 is amended by deleting to Her Majesty or any of her
subjects, or other persons entitled in like manner as subjects.
(12)The Second Schedule is amended by deleting our Sovereign Lady
Queen Elizabeth the Second, Her Heirs and successors and inserting instead —
the State of Western Australia .
Let us look at what went wrong initially....
On 1st January 2004, the Government of Western Australia at Perth,
Western Australia, inclusive of the Executive Legislature and Judicial
arms, in agreement with the Commonwealth, did enact an overt Act
titled Acts Amendment and Repeal Courts and Legal Practice Act 2003 WA.
By such enactment an Act of Treason was committed.
Such Treason has been concealed by the defendant, since the date of enactment up to and
inclusive of the present date.
Further, in Victoria, the Courts and Tribunals Legislation (Further Amendment) Act 2000
(Vic) was assented to on 5 September 2000, with removal of the oath of allegiance which
accorded with the Constitution. At PART 2, Legal Practice Act 1996, Section 3, it
states Oath of allegiance no longer required it requires the Court to establish the
form and manner required. However, NO statute can cause a Court to have power the
constitution disallows -- as the Court sits in judgment only. The fact remains, the Court has
NO power to substitute or make constitutional law!
Chief Magistrate Ian Gray stated
in open Court:
You will not be relying on the
Constitution in my Court
The Charge remains pending Grand Jury
Oath as per Schedule in Constitution of Australia:
Oath
I, A.B., do swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen
Victoria, Her heirs and successors according to law. SO HELP ME GOD!
Affirmation
I, A.B., do solemnly and sincerely affirm and declare that I will be faithful and bear
true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Victoria, Her heirs and successors according to law
Legal Practice Act (Vic) Oath of Allegiance removed
The Offence of Treason is Breach of Allegiance
Living Along The Fenceline - Trailer - TWN
Living Along the Fenceline is available for educational purchases:
LIVING ALONG THE FENCELINE tells the stories of seven grassroots women leaders from across the Pacific to Puerto Rico whose communities are affected by the U.S. military presence in their backyards. Although not considered war zones, these strategic locations are part of a global network of 1,000 U.S. bases that allows the United States to go to war anytime, anywhere. These women are not four-star generals or White House strategists. Their expertise comes from living with the tragic hidden costs to life, health, culture, and the environment.
LIVING ALONG THE FENCELINE offers provocative insights and information for audiences to think about these contentious issues in new ways. It lifts up alternative ideas of peace and security, embedded in the work of women who are acting on their visions and creativity. Rethinking security means respecting people and the land, having living wage jobs, and creating genuine security for all our children.
This documentary, winner of the Best Feature Documentary Award at the Female Eye Film Festival, features interviews with Alma Bulawan (Philippines), Diana Lopez (San Antonio TX), Lisa Natividad (Guam), Sumi Park (South Korea), Terri Keko’olani Raymond (Hawaii), Yumi Tomita (pseudonym--Okinawa) and Zaida Torres (Vieques, Puerto Rico).
Reviews
After seeing this film, 'security' will take on new meanings, and the world map will never look the same.
- Cynthia Enloe, Author of Nimo's War, Emma's War: Making Feminist Sense of the Iraq War
Powerful, informative, and inspiring, this film provides an urgently needed critique of the global impact of militarism.
- Setsu Shigematsu, Co-editor Militarized Currents
...will open the minds and hearts of viewers, inspire debate, and be very useful in high school and university classrooms worldwide.
- David Vine, Author of Base Nation
This documentary explores the creativity, insights, and resilience of women of color organizing in the U.S. and its military colonies around the world. Its community-oriented dialogue on the ways in which women variously address the environmental, medical, political, and sexual violence of the U.S. military is both compelling and moving. I highly recommend Living Along the Fenceline for educational instruction and community reflection.
- Keith Camacho, Co-editor of Militarized Currents
The women we meet in Living along the Fenceline are linked not merely by their troubles, but also by their activism—that silver lining that allows them to stitch together strong new solidarities from a fractured social fabric.
- Peter Certo, Foreign Policy in Focus
LIVING ALONG THE FENCELINE is beautifully shot and professionally edited, and the film’s far-ranging geography is easy to follow thanks to a map of the world on which American flags indicate US bases. This film come[s] at an auspicious time. As Americans gradually begin to face the moral and economic limits of constant military growth, and as the once unquestionable US defense budget comes under closer scrutiny…

Random Bicycling, Walking in Olympia, Washington; No Thought went into making this
There is a lot to look at in Olympia. I was surprised to see so many #blacklivesmatter posters around. I never noticed that in any other city.
Also, the capitol is very visible from a lot more places than compared to the capitol in Salem, Oregon.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Olympia is the capital of the U.S. state of Washington and the county seat of Thurston County. European settlers claimed the area in 1846, with the Treaty of Medicine Creek initiated in 1854, and the Treaty of Olympia initiated in January 1856. Similar treaties had taken shape across the emerging United States as a tool of European colonization: these documents facilitated often coerced cession of land, originally belonging to indigenous peoples and tribes, to European settlers.
Olympia was incorporated as a town on January 28, 1859, and as a City in 1882. The population was 46,479 as of the 2010 census, making it the 24th largest city in the state. The city borders Lacey to the east and Tumwater to the south. Olympia is a cultural center of the southern Puget Sound region. Olympia is located 60 miles (100 km) southwest of Seattle, the largest city in the state of Washington.

Recent show of Between Folds of Tea by Sha Sha Higby
Sha Sha Higby approaches dance through the medium of sculpture. The work explores a whimsical journey of life, death, and rebirth through mesmerizing intricate ephemeral images and light evokes the passage of time and day, or the shifting of the seasons. Using the painterly manipulation of hand crafted materials and textures made interwo¬ven with a labyrinth of delicate props and puppets, Higby's work creates a journey in which movement and stillness meet. Shreds of memory lace into a drama of a thousand intricate pieces, slowly moving, and stirring our memory toward a sense of patience and timelessness. She is an icon in her generation in establishing the sculptural object as a body costume that can be integrated with theater and dance to create its own poetic plot in solo performance.
Higby received a BS in art from Skidmore College and, 5 years in Indonesia under a Fulbright Scholarship 5 years of documented research for her MFA, she also studied for 1 year in Japan, and 6 months in India under an Indo-American Fellowship. She has received numerous awards and grants, including multiple grants from the Zellerbach Family Fund, the Marin Arts Council, Inter-Arts, New Langdon Arts and LACE (Interdisciplinary N.E.A.), California Arts Council Touring Subsidy, the Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation, Inc.
