Wata Wata Owl Cafe
So when taking my trip out into Nara during the summer of 2017, I made a stop at the Wata Wata Owl Café near the shopping district of the city.
I will say in advance, I'm not entirely sure that all the species mentioned in this video are completely accurate.

Japanese Owl Cafe!
Short lil' video of my visit to an owl cafe in Nara! My camera died or I would've gotten way more footage. I definitely want to return to an owl cafe next time I'm in Japan, petting owls is strangely relaxing. Which owl was your favorite? Tell me in the comments!

NARA VLOG (Deer Park + Owl Cafe)
Today, we explored Nara!
Skip to 1:33 when we actually go to Nara (lol!)
▼ PLACES VISITED ▼
0:32 Ichiran Ramen (FAVORITE ramen chain. Hands down.)
2:16 Nara Deer Park (A must-visit. One of my favorite memories of Japan.)
5:10 Todai-ji Temple (It's not captured in this video, but this is where Buddha's Nostril is. Anyone who manages to squeeze through that is believed to be granted enlightenment in his next life.)
6:10 Ukimido Pavillion (Not much to do. Just chilled for 10 minutes here.)
6:27 Kamaiki Udon (Highly rated udon shop in Nara)
6:45 Owl Cafe Watawata (You pay about $13 USD, drink included, to interact with the owls. You're allowed to pet the owls only with the back of your index and middle fingers. You're allowed to take a picture of one owl of your choosing, perched on your arm. If in a group, the same owl will be used for everyone. Some owls are off-limits for petting and holding because they are stressed or too aggressive.)

JAPAN DAY 3: NARA PARK AND OWL CAFE
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE ANIMALS! Today in Osaka, Japan - we visited the popular and beautiful nara park (mainly so I could feed the cute deer!) and it was amazing with great weather. We then unintentionally stumbled upon an owl cafe :O
before finally spending the night catching up on our jet leg, so now we're adjusted to Japan time :D

Visiting an Owl Cafe in Nara, Japan!
After checking out the deer in Nara Park, we randomly found an Owl Cafe on the way back to the train! The kids were super excited, so we decided to pop in for a visit. The Owl Cafe was pretty interesting, when you first walk in, you don't realize that all the owls there are real. They are so still. Admission consisted of purchasing a drink, I believe the price for adults was 700 yen, and for children is was 500 yen. Our kids even had the chance to hold an owl of their choice (we made them pick the small ones). I would definitely recommend checking out one of these unique animal cafes when in Japan! Although we only had the chance to check out the owl one, we did walk by puppy, cat, and hedgehog ones while travelling through the country!

Petting Japanese Owls
We found the Owl Café Wata Wata as we made our way to the Todai-Ji Temple in Nara, Japan, to see the largest bronze statue of Buddha in the world. For about $10.00 USD per person we had a coffee or tea of our choice but the real draw are the owls. You can pet them and play with them for as long as you want. I literally had to drag Piu Piu from the owl café to continue exploring Nara.
Later in the trip we realized that there are owl cafés in most cities - and definitely in Tokyo and Kyoto. We also saw cat cafés and other interesting concepts that I'd classify as only in Japan.
Enjoy!
