I had a nice weekend In Whangapoua and thought id get some footage with my drone.
HUGE CLIFF JUMP - Whangapoua NZ
A few clips from a trip with the mates down to Whangapoua in the Coromandel, and a huge cliff jump at New Chums Beach. Music is a track I'm working on:

Whangapoua Beach
Whangapoua Beach is on the east coast of Great Barrier Island.
It is a popular surf spot and also an important conservation area.
At the head of the Whangapoua Estuary is the settlement of Okiwi which has a small airfield, from the beach Rakitu Island is clearly visible.
A Department Of Conservation Campsite is located on the edge of the estuary.
A grave site at Tapuwai Point marks the final resting place for some of those drowned when the SS Wairarapa ran aground at Miners Head on October 24 1894, New Zealands worst maritime disaster.
The Wairairapa Graves Walkway takes you to Tupuwai Point where the grave site is located.

Surfing Whangapoua - Coromandel - New Zealand
After no surf (being land locked) for 2 months, back into some great surf. Sadly too out of shape to make the most of a beautiful 3ft glassy day.
Those of you who watch this channel know usually we handle a 2-3 hr session and get over 20 waves each. Today was pathetic for me. Only 1/2 an hour and only 2 waves.
That just illustrates how much physical fitness surfing requires!

Много птиц... Самой хотелось летать. Как минимум - по детски бегать...
Кулик-сорока на этом пляже (Haematopus chatamensis - птица с Чатемского архипелага) защищал своё семейство... да, не мудрено испугаться его длинного красного клюва...

Whangapoua Beach, Coromandel
Whangapoua, beautiful in it's own right, but better known as the place where you start the short hike to get over to New Chums beach.

To reach New Chums, best done during the two hours either side of low tide and beware - the track can get pretty muddy and slippery when wet!
New Chums is well worth the walk though. A beach even more beautiful than Whangapoua, but with no development in sight - for now...

A day trip to Coromandel Peninsula, Whangapoua Beach & New Chums Beach. New chums beach is 30 to 40min walk from Whangapoua Beach the white sands of one of the last undeveloped beaches on the Coromandel Peninsula.
