MOROCCO OFFROAD ADVENTURE 2019 (OVERLANDING)
We did an offroad overland trip through Morocco in April 2019. It was a super awesome tour: stunning landscape, interesting culture and nice people on the way. In total we drove 6500 km from which 2000 km were off road. On our way to the Sahara we crossed the Atlas Mountains multiple times. We visited Fes, Marakech and Essaouira wich were really beautiful.
The Cars:
JEEP Grand Cherokee (WJ 4.7) from 2000 with some modifications like a lift kit, a kitchen drawer and a roof tent.
Subaru Forester (SJ 2.0D) from 2017 also with a kitchen and a roof tent.

#02 Tangier (Morocco Travel Guide)
Visiting Morocco is a once in a lifetime experience!
It is like a magic carpet, full of diverse landscapes, exotic combinations of colors, of ancient medinas, buildings with stunningly geometrical berber designs, cultural experiences which have been preserved over centuries, incredibly hospitable people who make even first time visitors feel as if they are coming home after a long voyage. A place where even your eyes & nose look forward to your next meal, not just your taste-buds. A taste of the regal life in the artistically designed riads, waking up looking at magical brass lamps, rooms with multihued curtains, pottery and carpets! Not only is Morocco a photographer’s paradise, but also a shopper’s paradise, where you feel like buying everything!
Tangier is a melting pot of various influences from all over the world, made richer over the centuries by travelers, artists, immigrants who visited, got sucked into the experience and also have kept it vibrant.
Tangier is such an international location for a reason. After a few centuries of Phoenician, Carthaginian, Roman, Vandal, Byzantine, Arab, Portuguese, Spanish and British occupations, Tangier was declared an international zone in 1923. For the next 33 years (before Moroccan independence from France), Tangier was an important port for intercontinental trade, diplomacy, artists, writers, poets and philosophers who reveled in its freewheeling polyglot ambience. Henri Matisse, William S. Burroughs, Jean Genet, Paul and Jane Bowles, Tennessee Williams, Patricia Highsmith and Allen Ginsberg were famously inspired by Tangier; so are the artistically inclined, often foreign residents who own some of the most stylish homes here today.
Walk around the Tangier medina brings all the historic stories, cosmopolitan perspectives, artistic viewpoints, global influences over all these centuries to life. It is a good idea to sit at the 1920s Gran Café de Paris and take a time-lapse of your people watching and hear more stories about how Tangier has evolved over the centuries
