LIVE at White Rock Hall Episode 1
LIVE at White Rock Hall is a film archive of music, poetry, stories, and interviews, that seeks to create collaborations between world-class authors and award-winning musicians, and to capture the performances as they happen. Many of the compositions seek to create a form that is neither poem or story or song, but another form incorporating the best aspects of each artistic expression.
The show, which may occur in alternate locations, is filmed primarily in the sanctuary of White Rock Hall, located in the beautiful Shelton Laurel region of Madison County in Western NC. Keith Flynn and Denise Petrey purchased the White Rock Presbyterian Church (originally constructed in 1909), and moved the entire building to its present site, re-christened it as White Rock Hall in 2009, and began filming these performances four years later.
The show is broken into 25-minute previews, followed by full performances and interviews from those segments, which will air every thirty days.

The White Rock Flood on Marine Drive - June 9th 1999
On June 9th, 1999, White Rock was treated to a once in a 100-year event According to meteorologists, two large thunderstorm cells moving towards each other collided over White Rock. While usually they move in one direction, these two merged, stalled and dropped unheard of amounts of rain over our city. As White Rock is on a hillside, all the water moved downhill and collected on Marine Drive adjacent our beach, unable to drain fast enough and caused a large flood that will be remembered for many years to come.

Royal Hudson Steam Train in White Rock (part 2 of 2)
This is the continuation of the event of the Royal Hudson Steam Train in White Rock on my previous upload of part 1. (This is part 2 of 2).
April 15 2007.
Note that the screen turns blue during tape damage which exists on my original camcorder tape (not this VHS copy). The camcorder for this tape was too sensitive to slight tape damage and would it would turn the screen blue at times but not other times. The camcorder is no longer working today so I'm stuck with this VHS copy. Fortunately, audio is not effected most of the time.
But the way, I don't know why the speakers say good morning to each other when this event took place in the afternoon.
See and hear Mark Donnelly and the White Rock Major, Judy Forster, and more.
.
Thank you for watching, Tony Roy.
The Wreck of the SS ATLANTIC - Halifax, NS 1873
The SS Atlantic wrecked on the rocks of Lower Prospect in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1873. The story is nearly forgotten. We do our best to tell the story of the sinking, the worst disaster on the North Atlantic in the 1800's, and the first disaster for the White Star Line.
Technically, this is Historical Telegrams, Episode 4, but we want this video to also stand on its own and be used to independently promote the SS Atlantic Heritage Park, so we aren't including the episode number in the title.
This was made in cooperation with the SS Atlantic Heritage Park Society and the Titanic Society of Atlantic Canada.

Queensborough Bridges, Past and Present
Up until the year 1960, the dual use (rail and car) bridge was the only way to get into New Westminster, British Columbia, from Queensborough. This old bridge was notoriously bad for traffic, and there were constant problems with ships trying to pass underneath.
A new bridge was built in 1960, and remains to this day. (Re)Claiming the New Westminster Waterfront spoke to people who worked and lived Queensborough and New Westminster, who recalled the bridges of the past and present. They provided interesting stories about the interactions between residents of the neighbouring communities.
These memories are excerpts taken from longer, full oral history interviews done by the (Re)Claiming the New Westminster Research Project. Full interviews can be accessed through the New Westminster Museum & Archives.
