St. John Virgin Island Compilation
2017 Jost Van Dyke, White Bay, BVI. Best Drone Aerial Video just prior to the Cat 5 Hurricane
** Update** On June 22nd, 2017 we were lucky enough to experience and witness the treasures of what this island offered and looked like just weeks prior to being destroyed by two category 5 hurricanes. The Trimaran Freedom filmed in this vid did survive the hurricane with a few minor bruises but the owner's sister's yacht Barbie Girl barely survived the first cat 5 hurricane by being placed on the rocks but the second hurricane ripped her transom off taking on devastating salt water and she was totaled.
Before the hurricane, picture being on a beautiful trimaran sailing yacht, a classic caribbean beach: a stretch of perfect sand, sailboats and yachts docked in the bay, lively bars slinging potent cocktails, hammocks between palm trees, lush mountains in the distance. You don't have to, just watch this vid. White Bay is the place. Oh, and did we mention snorkeling? The bay is protected by a coral reef teeming with marine life. As for that cocktail, the famed Soggy Dollar Bar claims to invented the original Painkiller, best sipped from a hammock, but we felt Ivan's had the best Painkiller just a few minutes down the beach. The watering hole's name comes from the boaters who come ashore and pay with, you guessed it, soggy dollars.
Arriving on the beautiful Trimaran Freedom at
Jost Van Dyke's arrival point could also be called the activity hub of the island, if a tiny 4-square-mile island could claim one. The main draws are the restaurants and beach bars, like Foxy's Tamarind Bar & Restaurant, Soggy Dollar, Hendo's Hideout which we loved their Mahi Sandwich- Fish n Chips. Grouper sandwiches, jerk chicken wings and conch fritters are on the menu, along with blinding rum beverages and beer brewed in-house. Most all joints features live music nightly (sometimes from Foxy himself) and beach barbecues on Friday and Saturday. Visit during one of the infamous special events, like the Wooden Boat Regatta, New Years Eve or St. Patrick's Day party.
Our appreciation and gratitude goes toward the entire staff and crew of the Beautiful Historic Trimaran Freedom Your local knowledge of the islands and assistance was priceless.
I do not do this professionally as many youtubers. I only for a way for me and my friends to remember our trips together.
Captain Frederick - Thanks for bestowing us on your knowledge of these waters.
Admiral Captain Barbie - Thanks for keeping us feed and your assistance.
Captain Zen Len - Chief Engineer,a big thanks for keeping the vessel moving throughout the early mornings to insure we made all of our stops. Also running the crew and camera equipment to numerous shore lines was appreciated.

Hurricane Happiness - St. John, USVI
*Set Quality to 1080p*
Thank you all for watching! The Islands are some of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. It's so sad that the best places are the ones that get the worst of the weather. There were thousands of people who had destroyed homes, missing animals, and no sign of loved ones for days after the storm. It's so terrifying to think about, let alone see. Although, it's absolutely amazing to see how positive the locals are, and how much the island has overcome. We wish the best of luck to anybody still struggling. We'll be back soon.

There's hardly any parking and that's a good thing. When you go to Oppenheimer Beach on St. John in the USVI, you could be one of only a few people there.
Located just after Hawksnest Bay when driving on the St. John's famous North Shore Road, look for the parking area on the left side of the road just after a white fence. Pull off to the side of and don't block the big iron gates. Walk down the concrete ramp and you'll be on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean.

Bay of Bengal gem: Car Nicobar Island from the air
Virgin rain forests and island habitat of rare birds on Car Nicobar Island, as seen from the air. Turquoise and emerald waters (almost Oxford and Cambridge blues!), with white sparkling sands and beaches.
The Indian Ocean - Bay of Bengal island of Car Nicobar as seen right after the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami the sad anniversary of which takes place later this year. After the tsunami, Wilderness Films India exclusively flew over the island to get you this rare first-hand footage of the damage and destruction.
One can see the air-strip on Nicobar as our chopper takes off. The palm-fringed beaches stand silent, in mute testimony to the recent destruction. Large masses of water can still be seen marooned inland and along the estuaries, having destroyed large patches of rain forest on this pristine island.
This fantastic island is home to the endangered Narcondam Hornbill and the Nicobar Pigeon - birds that are seen nowhere else in the world!
Flying over the island's forest cover and the rain forest canopy, one comes across a forest road that is used to supply villages inland and was perhaps at one time used to move timber to sea.
What are those strange housing plots or platforms in the middle of the island? Is that some planned settlement that failed or an ill-hatched government housing project?
And in that one seamless shot, we reach the other end of the island of Car Nicobar, only to see more death and destruction from the terrible tsunami of south-east Asia. See broken roads and bridges and flooded estuaries and inland waterways.

USS Constellation (CV-64)
USS Constellation, a Kitty Hawk–class supercarrier, was the third ship of the United States Navy to be named in honor of the new constellation of stars on the flag of the United States and the only naval vessel ever authorized to display red, white, and blue designation numbers. One of the fastest ships in the Navy, as proven by her victory during a battlegroup race held in 1985, she was nicknamed Connie by her crew and officially as America's Flagship.
The contract to build Constellation was awarded to the New York Naval Shipyard, Brooklyn, New York, on 1 July 1956, and her keel was laid down 14 September 1957 at the New York Navy Yard. She was launched 8 October 1960, sponsored by Mary Herter. Constellation was delivered to the Navy 1 October 1961, and commissioned 27 October 1961, with Captain T. J. Walker in command. At that time, she had cost about US$264.5 million. Constellation was the last U.S. aircraft carrier to be built at a yard other than Newport News Shipbuilding & Drydock Company. As of early 2015, Constellation was at the scrapyard in Brownsville, Texas, awaiting her fate.

The West Indies, 1960's - Film 32730
The west Indies, Caribbean
Vacationing or holiday in Bermuda, Jamaica and the Bahamas. Riding motorcycles through the countryside, taking buggy rides through Kingston, riding horses, river rafting, parade with flower floats and cultural festival, swimming on the beach, white west Indies buildings, small houses and shops.
A jet flies through the air. Aerial view of rocky shore deep dark blue water on one side of the rocks, frothy white water on the other. From above, tropical green water plants and rocks visible under the surface of the water. A small island separated from a large forested island by a stretch of blue water, shoals and coral beds surround the small island. A series of buoys in the ocean, a boy sits on top of one as a plane flies overhead, then the bottom of the plane as it zooms overhead. Behind titles, waves wash up on white sandy beach. Waves wash up on white sandy beach, bordered by rocky cliff with green brush.
A woman in a black backless bathing suit stands on a rocky precipice, facing away from us, a yellow towel held in her hands flapping behind her, in front of her on a rock outcrop stretching into the ocean, a man dives into the ocean, the woman looks away and walks to the right down the rock. She makes her way down the rock face. The man walks out of the water, beside a large rocky outcrop on the white sand beach, the woman runs towards him with the towel. She hands it to him, he rubs his face, they put their arms around each other and walk.
The man and woman on motorcycles on the beach, they are out of their bathing suits, the woman touches her foot down on the sand to straighten her bike out. They ride their motorbikes on the semi wet sand. The two motorcycles zoom across the beach as waves roll up on the shore. A long crescent of beach, very few people, the motorcycles on the far side of the beach, some people walk towards the water.
A small sailing marina with little single person sailboats in front of the boat house. A woman leans over a boat attached to the dock and moves the lines, another woman does the same to another boat. A man in a sail boat with a red and white striped sail pulls on the boom line and moves the rudder, he leans back as the wind catches the sail. Three single person sailboats with colourful sails move quickly through the water along the shore, white houses rise on the bluff behind them, surrounded by green vegetation, one of the women pulls the boom over to change direction. The man in the red and white striped sailed boat bends over as he moves the rudder and the boom swings over his head, the boat turns the corner. A man an woman in the same boats coming towards us, she holds the rudder and he moves the boom. A woman in another boat. A man in a boat with a red sail leans far over the edge of the boat to keep upright as he comes straight towards us, a girl in a green sailed boat comes towards us as well, her boat fishtails as she yanks on the rope. Three , then four old fashioned power driven water-skis or seadoos or jet skis move out from the dock. A woman in a white halter neck bathing suit stands confidently on the double pontoon jet ski as it skims over the water, followed by several others. A man drives his seadoo close to the shoreline, bouncing it up and down on the small waves. A woman in a patterned bathing suit and bathing cap drives her seadoo in the wake of a motor boat, in rough water as if she was being pulled by the boat ( she is!) . The woman and another man drive their jet skis behind the boat as it pulls them along. The couple on the motorbikes rive towards us on a street in a small town. They come up a hill around a curve beside a large white lighthouse, the lighthouse as it rises into the very blue sky. The cubic walks of a rock quarry, then down in the bottom of it, a man works sawing rock with a large saw ( possibly gypsum or chalk?). The man stands on top of the block of rock he was hewing and with a piece of wood as a lever, he pushes out the mass of rock he cut, it slowly falls over and break as it hits the ground. A tall clock tower and then the government buildings, a lawn and white fountain in front.
Fishing Vessel hits large Sailing Vessel in Good Visibility 20/8/2010
Here is the press release from this incident.
At a hearing 30/05/2011 at Southampton Magistrates the Officer of the Watch of a fishing vessel pleaded guilty to one safety charge brought under Section 58 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995. He was fined £1,700 plus costs of £6,435.
On the 20th August 2010 the Andrea had finished fishing and was returning to port in the Netherlands. The skipper and rest of the crew were below leaving Jan Baarssen alone on the bridge in sole charge of the vessel. The Andrea is a 36.5 metre beam trawler registered in the UK but is based in the Netherlands
The Alexander von Humboldt was returning to Germany after a training voyage with a crew of fifty nine (59) consisting of thirty three (33) trainees and twenty six (26) full time crew. She is a large three masted sail training vessel registered in Germany.
The visibility on the day was good (10 Km +), wind was southerly force 5-6 with weather being grey and overcast.
During the afternoon of the 20th August 2011 the Alexander von Humboldt detected the Andrea on a steady bearing on its port side. The Andrea was not fishing and was the give way vessel. The Alexander von Humboldt started sounding its whistle. The Andrea failed to give way. The Alexander von Humboldt also tried to contact the Andrea by VHF radio but had no response. The Andrea claims to have gone hard to starboard and when within 15-20 metres of the Alex von Humboldt, the Andrea was seen to go full astern. The Andrea struck the port quarter of the Alexander von Humboldt. It was a fairly low speed collision.
Apart from some scratched paintwork, the Andrea was undamaged.
The Alexander von Humboldt was lucky to suffer only some dented shell plating with associated damage to internal wooden bulkheads and deck planking together with bent or buckled handrails. It was very fortunate that no harm came to the crew of the Alexander von Humboldt and that its rigging and watertight integrity remained intact.
Mr Jan Baarssen, 51, of Urk, Netherlands pleaded guilty for conduct endangering ships or persons. He was finerd£1,700 plus costs of £6,435
In passing sentence the Magistrates stated that it was fortunate that they were no injuries especially among the sail training crew.
Mr David Fuller O.B.E., Principal Fishing Vessel Surveyor for the Eastern Region of the MCA stated:This is yet another incident occurring on the return of a fishing vessel to harbour. Fishermen are reminded of the requirement to keep a good lookout at all times. Also that that the trip is not over until the vessel is safely tied up in port.
We would like to thank the German and Netherlands Police for their assistance in this matter
