It is in fact the only sherry produced at the bodega founded in 1852, aside a sherry vinegar.
La Guita is one of Spain’s best-selling Manzanillas and the most appreciated in the country. It is, notably, enjoyed abundantly in the local Feria de Sevilla, the fair of Seville city in Andalucía, or the Carnival of Cadiz.
La Guita is made from 100% Palomino grapes grown in Sanlúcar, mainly in the Pago Miraflores, one of the most prestigious vineyard areas of Sanlúcar.
The wine is aged using the traditional Sanlúcar de Barrameda system of criaderas and solera in the Pago Sanlúcar Viejo and Misericordia wineries.
The result is a wine of superior quality which after 4 years of ageing is notable for its pale straw yellow color, its freshness, delicacy and salinity with floral notes.

A Guide to Sherry: Fino
Sherry. What is it? To most Sherry is that sticky horror hiding in the back of your aunt's cupboard covered in dust and termites, and one taste of the stuff is enough to put most off for life.
Sherry has a life all of it's own and it's been sadly marginalized by gloopy sticky nightmare juice over the years. For this video, we're looking solely at Fino, one of the lightest and driest styles of sherry you'll find. We'll talk about the contributions of yeast (flor) and why this is as close as you'll get to tasting wine made in the vacuum of space!

STOP THE PRESSES. Sherry is one of the most misunderstood drinks in the world. Everyone thinks it's that sickly sweet stuff your nan drinks at Christmastime. It's not. It's one of the most complex and romantic wines in the world. It also happens to be my favourite wine.
I head to the south of Spain, as well as drink around the capital, and snag a couple of talking heads, to try and dispel some myths about this most fantastic drink and hopefully show off its inherent romance!

Valdespino owns 750 hectares of their own vineyards in the Jerez region (1,850 acres), which is extremely rare in this region and allows them close control over grape quality.
The jewel in the crown of Valdespino vineyards is the coveted and iconic Macharnudo vineyard. This site at one of the highest altitudes in the area 135 meters above sea level) also benefits from extremely pure albariza chalk soils. Located northwest of Jerez has been owned by Valdespino since 1264.

Warehouse: Valdespino
D.O.: D.O. Jerez y Manzanilla-Sanlúcar de Barrameda
Country: Spain
Alcohol by volume: 15.00°
Varietals: 100% Palomino
Allergens: Soleras and criaderas. Contains Sulfites
Format: 375 cc.
Serving temperature: 8*-10*
Tasting Notes
Color: pale golden straw.
Nose: very refined and pronounced with distinct aromas of biological aging.
Mouth: Light on entry, opening out beautifully with an intense flavour, freshness and persistence.
Pairing: We recommend Inocente as an aperitif and to accompany all kinds of tapas, soups, fish and shellfish..
Observations
Inocente is a classic Jerez Fino made by the most traditional method, that of the criaderas and solera system. The grape juice, which comes from a single vineyard called Inocente among the firm?s holdings in the famous Pago Macharnudo, is fermented in butts made from American oak and is aged under a veil of flor yeasts for over eight years. The result is a highly complex Fino, one of the very best in Jerez.

Wines From Spain Trade Fair 2014
WINES FROM SPAIN TRADE FAIR 2014
The Wines from Spain Trade Fair will took place on 20 March 2014 at the Old Billingsgate venue in London. Although there are different professional fairs for the wine sector in the United Kingdom, the advantage of this exhibition is that it ensures that the professionals attending focus on the Spanish offer present there.
As in previous editions, a single fair is organized with a good representation of the Spanish offer, with both wines already available on the market and those that are not yet present but have great potential.
Once again, this brings together two trade fairs: one for importers, who attend with the wines of the wineries they represent, and one for exporters, who are seeking distribution on the market.
The Annual Wines from Spain Trade Fair has grown in stature and reputation delivering extraordinary wines and a myriad of styles to suit all sectors of the market, from everyday drinking wines to wines of great finesse and complexity.
This year celebrates its 25th anniversary and showing over 80 exhibitors which include Spanish wine importers and Spanish exporters seeking UK distribution.
Alongside this feature will be another two self-pour tastings run throughout the day featuring Tempranillo reds and whites made exclusively from indigenous Spanish grape varieties.
There will be Masterclasses running at different times during the day featuring a special presentation on E Commerce hosted by Peter Burns, Manager of Online Marketing at Waitrose, and a Palo Cortado Sherry tasting by Beltran Domecq, President of the CRDO Jerez-Xérès-Sherry y Manzanilla de Sanlúcar de Barrameda. Domecq, a qualified winemaker, will present a carefully chosen range of these fascinating and elusive Sherries at this tasting.
This event is exclusively for members of the press and wine trade professionals. The organisers reserve the right to refuse admittance to visitors who are unable to provide proper credentials.
Fair Features:
- Over 1,300 wines - sparkling, whites, rosados, reds and fortifieds
- Everyday classics to top end, premium wines.
- Boutique wines, new releases and well-known brands
- A number of new exhibitors seeking UK distribution.
- Self-pour tastings featuring Tempranillo and indigenous white varieties.
- Masterclasses (details to follow shortly)
