Welcome to my channel.
Blackpool's world famous Winter Gardens threw open its doors for an exclusive access all areas event, allowing the public a rare chance to explore every nook and cranny of the grade 2 Listed Building and witness firsthand the extensive renovations taking place, free of charge on Saturday 27th January, 11am – 3pm.
Blackpool’s Winter Gardens first opened to the public on 11 July 1878, with a lavish ceremony attended by the Lord Mayor of London and Mayors and Mayoresses from 68 towns throughout the country. Through its collection of theatres, ballrooms, exhibition halls and public spaces the venue has welcomed many millions since, including stars of stage, screen, and world politics.
I had a great day. I took so much video it's going to take a while to edit and upload. For now here's a little look at the view from the windows. I've looked up at these windows so many times and wondered what it would be like to stand inside, over that famous sign.
It was so great to be able to walk round everywhere and just explore. I didn't get to film every little thing. My camera battery ran out, but I'm happy with the stuff I got.
This channel is mainly dedicated to videos of my hometown, Blackpool, Lancashire, England.
Blackpool is a beautiful seaside town on the north west coast of England.
We have many cool attractions here including our world famous Blackpool Tower, the Pleasure Beach, three piers and a lovely sandy beach..
Blackpool is a relatively poor town that gets (unfairly in my opinion), a lot of bad press..
The aim of my channel is to show Blackpool in a better light..
No town or city is perfect so it's best to appreciate the good parts wherever you live :)

The U.K. Subs were part of the original punk movement in England that formed in 1976, with the initial name of the Subversives.[2] The band's founder, Charlie Harper selected guitarist Nicky Garratt, bassist Paul Slack, and various drummers (eventually Pete Davis became fairly stable) under the initial name U.K. Subversives.[3] The London based band's early line-up changed frequently.
Their style combined the energy of punk and the rock and roll edge of the then thriving pub rock scene. The band had some hit singles such as Stranglehold, Warhead, Teenage, and Tomorrow's Girls, with several of their songs managing to enter the United Kingdom's Top Forty.
The band played several John Peel sessions in 1977 and 1978 for BBC Radio 1,[1] and then signed a recording contract with GEM Records.[1] Under GEM, the U.K. Subs recorded an album in 1979 called Another Kind of Blues. The group also played a few opening gigs for The Police, as well as recording a set at The Roxy (a punk club), which was issued in 1980 as Live Kicks. Their biggest selling album came with 1980s Crash Course. Crash Course was recorded at the Rainbow Theatre in London on 30 May 1980 during the Brand New Age tour.
In 1979 Julien Temple wrote and directed a short film Punk Can Take It, a parody of wartime documentaries, that consisted mainly of the U.K.Subs playing live on stage.[4] The film had a theatrical release.[5]
With the arrival of new bassist Alvin Gibbs and drummer Steve Roberts in the early 1980s, the songs took on a more heavy metal-influenced edge. In July 1982, they became the first western band to perform in Poland since the imposition of martial law, and the suppression of the trade union, Solidarity.[6] Their concert was held in Gdansk, and they were supported by Brygada Kryzys.[7] In 1991, the U.K. Subs also had Lars Frederiksen (now of Rancid) on guitar for a 30 date UK tour. Decades after the disbanding of other late-1970s punk groups such as the Sex Pistols and The Clash, the U.K. Subs continue to perform.

B Bang Cider - Visions
You simply cannot beat a right good punk rock compilation album and the daddy of them all has to be the Punk & Disorderly series.
Spanning over 20 years of punk rock mayhem, this film contains some of the very best from the leading lights of the scene. There just doesn't seem to be any stopping the punk phenomenon as it hurtles towards its 4th decade, and this collection is proof positive of just how strong the movement still is.
The P&D series has always striven to bring you the very best that is out there, and this collection is no different. Featuring classic promos from the 80s second wave bands, rare live footage from Jettisoundz archive and many never seen before live and promo tracks Punk & Disorderly 2 keeps a proud tradition of quality rock n roll alive.

Jayne County - Rock n Roll Resurrection - (Live at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, UK, 1996)
JAYNE COUNTY man enough to be a woman
07 rock n roll resurrection
A veteran of the New York performance-art scene of the seventies, transvestite, Wayne County first headed to London England in the mid seventies, attracted by the burgeoning Punk scene. His first band Queen Elizabeth, were short lived. His next, more successful, band, the Backstreet Boys, recorded an album in New York only to see it never released, although tracks did turn up on the Max's Kansas City album (a favourite of UK DJ, the late John Peel). By 1976 Wayne was back in the UK with a new outfit, the electric chairs who rapidly became one of the most booked bands on the UK punk circuit. The following year they were to record there most notorious track, F**k Off!, which was released as a single and sold very well indeed. The critically and commercially successful Storm the Gates of Hell LP really put The Electric Chairs on the map and they became international cult favourites. In 1980 Wayne decided it was time to address his gender issues once and for all and following surgery he became Jayne County.
During the 80's Jayne moved to Berlin, performing on the underground circuit, and virtually disappearing from the public eye. By the mid nineties the UK Punk revival was in full swing and Jayne was tempted out of obscurity to form a revamped Electric Chairs and once more hit the stage doing what she did best. As lewd and irreverent as she had been twenty years earlier Jayne introduced and whole new generation to her tasteless, gender bending, trashy world and in the process won herself a new fan base. In 1995 they recorded the come back LP Deviation and since then Jayne has penned a best selling autobiography Man Enough to Be a Woman. This film was recorded at the 20th Birthday of Punk Celebration, Holidays in The Sun, held at the Winter Gardens in August 1995 and contains mostly never-been-seen footage of that very special gig. Watch, be amazed and realise why Wayne County remains the true, uncrowned Queen of Punk Rock.

The line up has changed several times during the past few years but John and Albert are original members. The band was formed around April 94 (under the name Opposition) and a three track demo was recorded a couple of months later. Two of these songs were used on a Link Records compilation United Kingdom of Punk and Oi. After gigs in North London with 999, UK Subs and the Klingonz the band name was changed to the Stains and another demo was recorded. In December 1995 Dojo paid for the band to record an album, Songs for Swinging Losers at River Studios. The band had just returned from a tour of Germany with B.Bang Cider accompanied by a reporter from Maximum Rock'n'Roll who did several interviews with them. The Swinging Losers CD was released the following summer after more gigs in Germany, Belgium and Holland. Later that year the band played at the Holidays in the Sun weekend at Blackpool and an all-dayer in the Czech.Republic with Sham 69.
