The First 9 at Woldingham Golf Club
A few weeks ago we had the privilege to photograph Anna and Gareth's Wedding at Woldingham Golf Club in the picturesque Halliloo valley near Caterham Surrey. Before the wedding a group of the boys decided to start the day off with a quick nine holes before getting ready. As Marcin was already photographing the girls preparations at Selsdon Park Hotel I thought it was a wonderful chance for me to take a few golf photos.

About Woldingham School
Founded in 1842 by the Society of the Sacred Heart, Woldingham School is a Catholic school and a member of the International Network of Sacred Heart Schools that teaches the core values of social awareness, respect for oneself and others, a sense of community and self-realisation. Applications are welcome from girls of all faiths. Most notable alumnae include Vivien Leigh, Caroline Wyatt, Louise Mensch, Clarissa Dickson Wright and Carey Mulligan.
The School is located within the Surrey Downs in a 700-acre estate with its own train station in the grounds that allows for a 35-minute connection to London Victoria station. Gatwick is only 20 minutes away and Heathrow Airports is 45 minutes away. Junction 6 on the M25 is only seven minutes’ drive from the School.
Academics
99% of Woldingham girls continue on to higher education after graduation with 6% attending Oxford and Cambridge. The School’s Oxbridge Preparation Programme provides support in all academic areas. In recent years, 68.8% of GCSE grades were A* or A. At A-level, 54.9% of grades were A*/A, 84% of girls received A*/B grades and the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) ranked Woldingham School in its top category, ‘excellent’, in all areas, which is equivalent to Ofsted’s ‘outstanding’.
Superb facilities
The School’s facilities include an Art Department with two large 2-D studios, a 3-D area equipped with power tools and two kilns and printmaking facilities The Design Department makes use of a fully equipped workshop and studio, by using computer-controlled machinery. The School’s 600-seat auditorium is equipped with a professional studio theatre and industry-standard facilities. Sport facilities include extensive outdoor courts and pitches, a hall, indoor tennis dome, squash courts, fitness, dance/gymnastics studios and a swimming pool.
Boarding and pastoral care
En-suite accommodation is provided for the Upper Sixth centre, while the Lower Sixth centre has single rooms and Year 10 girls have single study-bedrooms. During their first two years, girls reside in a welcoming junior house. Full and weekly boarding is available with Year 7 having the opportunity to leave on Friday evenings. Nearly half of the boarders decide to remain at the School throughout the term, which provides the School with a lively and busy boarding community throughout the academic year.
