YOKOHAMA, Japan: Nissan Stadium, Ramen Museum, Cup Noodles Museum | Vlog 5
Yokohama, Japan is well known for soccer (or football ????) and ramen. In this video, you see the most famous attractions in both fields. In Shin-Yokohama, we visit the Nissan Stadium (also known as Yokohama Stadium), and the Ramen Museum, where you can try some of the best ramen bowls you'll ever have. Food in Japan is always delicious!
The Nissan Stadium is famous for the 2002 FIFA World Cup Final and is often used for major events in Japan. In 2020, it will also host Olympic soccer matches. Now that the Rugby World Cup is over, stadium visits have resumed.
From the Ramen Museum, we went to the Cup Noodles Museum, back in Minato Mirai 21, where you can learn about Momofuku Ando, the creator of instant ramen noodles, the history of instant ramen and cupnoodles. We closed the day visiting the mall across the street, World Porters, and enjoying the view from the Ferris wheel at Cosmo World.
Yokohama is perfect for a Tokyo day trip, but my advice? Stay longer ????
Yokohama is located in the Tokyo metro area and has one of the most beautiful waterfronts in Japan. In this series of videos, you will keep watching a detailed Yokohama, Japan tour, including a lot of things to do.

► WHO AM I?
Short answer: I am a Brazilian journalist living in the United States. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!

99. China Town, Yokohama, Japan
China Town, Yokohama, Japan. Visiting Yokohama without visiting the largest in Japan China Town, it's like a trip to New York and not seeing the Statue of Liberty. Streets at Yokohama China Town is even narrower than in rest of Japan, full of bars with chinese delicacies and shops with the chinese crap. China Town, however, has its own unique mood...

Yokohama Street Food Tour | Japan's Largest Chinatown!
In this video we take you on a Yokohama street food tour through Japan's largest Chinatown!
Yokohama (横浜) is the second largest city in Japan by population and it's a quick train ride from Tokyo, making it the perfect destination for a day trip. This is a port city that sits on the shores of Tokyo Bay, and while it has lots to offer in terms of attractions and sightseeing, we were drawn here by the food.
The cool thing about eating in Yokohama Chinatown (横浜中華街) is that you get a unique blend of Chinese food and Japanese food, plus you can also choose between street food and restaurants.
To get to Yokohama we took the Toyoko Line from Shibuya Station (渋谷駅). If you get on the express train you should get to Yokohama in 30 minutes, but we accidentally got on the slow train so it ended up taking over an hour - don't make our mistake!
Here's a list of the foods we tried on our visit to Yokohama Chinatown (横浜中華街):
- Steamed Buns (sweet beef with egg and onions) - ¥500
- Shiu Mai (shrimp and pork dumplings) - ¥380
- Sesame Balls (filled with sesame paste) - ¥310
- Egg Tarts - ¥180
- Spicy Ramen Soup - ¥800
- Mapo Tofu with Rice - ¥1200
- Steamed Panda Buns (matcha flavoured) - ¥320
- Bubble Tea - ¥350
Our one piece of advice for visiting this place is to come hungry! If you want to make the most of your very own Yokohama street food tour, you'll need a big appetite because there is so much food to try. We barely scratched the surface.

Yokohama Street Food Tour | Japan's Largest Chinatown! Transcript:
Alright good afternoon guys. It is time for another street food video. Today we're going to be taking you guys to Yokohama (横浜). It is 30 minutes south from Shibuya station (渋谷駅). So yeah a bit of an excursion for food. Yeah, first time leaving Tokyo and we've brought our appetites.
I didn't really explain why we're going to Yokohama but this is basically home to the largest Chinatown (横浜中華街) in all of Japan and also one of the largest Chinatown's in all of Asia. So perfect place for street food. We're going to have a mix of Japanese street food and Chinese street food.
We have made it to Yokohama Chinatown (横浜中華街). It took us a while to get here.
Yokohama street Chinatown (横浜中華街) is a great place for street food but if street food is not your thing you also have a whole bunch of Chinese restaurants to choose from and a lot of them are buffets so you pay a set fee and then you can eat as much as you want so definitely lots of food options here in Yokohama. This has been great so far. I mean we've only eaten at a couple of places and I'm already loving it.
We have now turned down one of the little side streets here in Chinatown (横浜中華街) and what I find really interesting is that it is not just all street food and restaurants. Down the little side streets we're also seeing like Chinese supermarkets. You have like massage parlors focusing on Chinese medicine and reflexology and you've got souvenir shops. I mean places to buy decorations for your home. And it is just so pretty to walk down these side streets as well because you have the red paper lanterns and the lights are starting to come on because it is late in the afternoon.
I hope you enjoyed our little street food tour of Chinatown (横浜中華街) here in Yokohama (横浜). We had a really fun time just eating so much food. It was delicious. Yeah. I'm leaving here stuffed and I don't feel like we spent that much money. No. That was cool. If you're planning to travel to Japan and you're going to be in Tokyo it is super easy to get to Yokohama (横浜). We'll see you guys in the next video. Bye for now.

Sega Orbi Yokohama for Kids - Petting Chicks ????, Hedgehog ????, Capybaras, Armadillo & more!
We spent 5 days in Yokohama with kids and one of our highlights of this family trip was the Sega Orbi on the 5th floor of Mark IS.
Please click the Like ???? & Subscribe buttons:
A super family fun place to spend the day in Yokohama for kids to make lots of memories. Amalin and Brody especially loved petting chicks ????????????????! There were about 100 little chicks to pick up and feed. It was really cute! Also you could hold and pet a hedge hog. And in the Animal garden we got to pet, feed and have super close in encounters with big Capybaras, Armadillo, Turtles and many more animals.
There are different rooms to experience this. The chicks and hedgehog were in the Animal studio. And the Capibara, Armadillo & more was in the Animal Garden. Both have lines to wait in and each experience lasts for 15 mins. We waited 20 mins for the Animal garden. And 45 mins for the Animal studio. We also did the Cat room, but it was a 75 min wait and I don’t think it was worth it.
There are other activities to do and see with no wait times, but these in the video were our highlights.
Yokohama Japan is a great city with lots of things to do with kids. Please see our other videos for more family fun travel ideas.
The day before we had a kids day at Cup Noodles make your own ramen museum, big Ferris wheel and Kidd-o-Kidd indoor playroom: See link here:

A parade of Picachu's in Yokohama
(7 Aug 2016) POKEMON FESTIVAL KICKS OFF IN JAPAN
The streets of Yokohama, a port city west of Tokyo, were very yellow as a Pikachu parade kicked off its week-long Pokemon festival Sunday (7 August 2016).
Thousands gathered to watch the dancers in Pikachu suits dancing and parading to the blaring music.
Yokohama city began hosting the Pokemon themed festival since 2014 but this is the first time they held a Pikachu parade.
The city is a major touristic destination for foreign travelers as well as domestic tourists, being just a short distance away from Tokyo with its port atmosphere and many museums and attractions.
Yuka Nagai, Yokohama city official, said they decided to host Pokemon themed festival as the Japanese cartoon is so popular worldwide. They hoped the event would attract foreign tourists to the city as well as Japanese Pokemon fans.
It's aim seemed to have hit the targets. Many foreign tourist were spotted among the gathering crowds enjoying the parade on Sunday.
The city however is not linking the festival with the Pokemon Go smartphone game which has gone viral worldwide, said Nagai.
The festival continues until next Sunday with various Pokemon themed kids games and events.

Me and the sweetheart have been here, and it was awesome!
Yokohama Day Trip (How We Messed It Up)
Yokohama is a 45 minute train ride south of Tokyo. There are lots of places to see and things to do. It is home of two different ramen museums, A Pompompurin/ Gudetama Cafe, Casmo World and the largest Chinatown in Asia, you know outside of China. This is how we improperly prepared for this day trip. Hopefully this video shows you what not to do and you can learn from our mistakes. Overall Yokohama was a nice visit outside of Tokyo but planning and trim management is very important!
Where is your favorite place to visit while in Yokohama? Let me know in the comments:)
