Japanese Wet Market Tour: Yokohamabashi Shopping District Japan! Raw Footage!
Yokohamabashi Shopping District is a local shopping street that has been selling mainly daily commodities since before World War II. It is a vibrant shopping street with an atmosphere reminiscent of the old days, where face-to-face selling is still valued. A three minute walk from the Municipal Subway Bandobashi station, the 350 meter long arcade is lined with a variety of 135 stores all selling products at reasonable prices. Hand-made cutlets and croquettes are especially popular. The arcade is equipped for all weather conditions and free of vehicles from 13:00 to 20:00 everyday, providing a safe shopping environment.

Journey to Fuji • Trooper in Tokyo
This was definitely one major highlight of our Tokyo trip.
We woke up early in the morning, caught a train to Shinjuku Station and headed over to Mount Fuji. The scenery on the way there was stunning and the journey was relatively short—we arrived within 2 hours.
It was a beautiful day, so we managed to view Mount Fuji in all its greatness (with a decent snow cap on the peak). As we spent the rest of the day touring the region, Mount Fuji was always within sight, reminding us of her beauty and splendour.
If you're around Mount Fuji, make sure you try Houtou—a local handmade noodle dish served in a vegetable miso soup. The noodles are flat but have a consistency similar to udon, while the soup is light and refreshing.
The ice cream was amazing around Fuji! We tried matcha, black sesame and white peach (sooo good). Unfortunately, when we went back to Tokyo, we simply couldn't find this type of ice cream. So eat as much of it as you can when you're at Fuji!
On the way back, we stopped by Tokyo Station. I could do a whole episode on that but we didn't have time to really explore the entire station. But the very least we could do was to grab baked cheese tarts and visit Ramen Street.
Pro-tip: Plan your Fuji trip beforehand and check the weather. If the weather's good, you'll have the time of your life. If not, meh.

Japan Off The Beaten Path: Autumn In Akita Prefecture | Japan Travel Guide
Japan Off The Beaten Path is a new series on my channel, where I show you more of the unknown areas/prefectures in Japan and encourage you to travel and visit areas other than the common places such as Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka.
In this first episode, we visit and explore around Akita Prefecture in the Tohoku region of northern Honshu, the main island of Japan.
I came here during Autumn(end of October), which is the perfect time to come to see the autumn foliage!
ITINERARY
More info:
Things to DO
-Akita Nairiku Line

・Blue Marine Cafe Boat Rental
-Okuoku Hachikurou Onsen

-Hanazen (Tori-meshi Bento)
Check out more of Akita here:
As for transportation, it takes 4 hours to get from Tokyo station to Akita station via the Akita Komachi Bullet Train.
It costs around ¥17,000($160 USD) however if you have the JR pass you just have to pay the small fee of the reserved seat on the Shinkansen(all seats are reserved).
Or if you are going up to Hokkaido or coming back down from Hokkaido, you can change at the Shin-Aomori station and take the local JR train down to Odate station.
Going back to Tokyo from Shin-Aomori station is also possible by taking the Hayabusa bullet train. (Around ¥17,000)
Even though Akita is in Japan, each prefecture is so unique in it's own way - I learned so much from this trip and could see a different side of Japan.. I hope to share this kind of Japan more and more with you through my channel :)
and lastly, a big big big thank you to my friends at Akita Inu Tourism for showing me around Akita!!!! Couldn't have done this video without you!
Subscribe and join me on my journey! ☺

Japanese commuters stranded as typhoon stops trains
(9 Sep 2019) Japanese commuters were stranded at the entrance of Shimbashi Station in Tokyo on Monday morning as train operations were affected by a powerful typhoon which hit the area overnight.
Japan Railway, one of the major train operations in Japan, has suspended some of its operations in the metropolitan areas due to Typhoon Faxai.
Dozens of commuters on their way to work at the start of the week have been waiting, some for hours, to get to work.
Hideko Nishihara walked around nearby stations for an hour to try to find alternative routes, but they were all congested due to the weather conditions.
Tsubasa Kikuchi was sitting outside for two hours trying to make his way to Yokohama, south of Tokyo, to get into work.
He said he would try his luck and wait by the station in case operations resumed earlier than expected.

tokyo in december
from the first time having stepped into this pleasant land of the rising sun...one knows it is a place where you wouldn’t mind and even look forward to return back again. a short trip this time and mainly in the capital, tokyo.
walked the usual known grounds of omotesando, harajuku, shibuya, ginza & marunouchi. checked in for tendon-soba-tempura, fish ramen & grilled beef to keep us warm in the under 10degC weather with light rain for the first two days.
this time round we brought ourselves closer to the majestic fuji-san. this dormant mountain, which we always had always observed from afar, was even amazing in “person”. the clear sky allowed us to have an unobstructed view of its infamous snow capped top. got to station 4 which was 2020m up the mt fuji (total height is about 3776m). we were just right above the clouds at this point. awesome...feeling small being with the fuji-san...subhanAllah.
a new venture to the nakano & nakameguro district. nice market to find of vintage watches, toys and electronics..at good prices as well in nakano. an evening at nakameguro, slow strolling by the stream filled with locals on bikes and while some, walking their little kawaii dogs. surrounding area are with nice cafes, bicycle and local designers shops to hop in and out.
took a short morning walk through odaiba, tokyo bay. a totally modern setup, with technology museums, arcades and indoor sports mall. theres also a vintage car showroom and a toyota museum nearby. of course the full scale unicorn gundam stood tall here as well.
always a drag to end holidays...even more so leaving this lovely city of tokyo.
Trying Japanese Desserts at a Traditional Tea House in Takayama, Japan
We experienced yet another rainy day in Takayama, so we decided to try some Japanese desserts at a traditional tea house. We stumbled upon this place by chance and what better way to stay dry?
In this video, we try matcha green tea, roasted tea, warabimochi with ice cream (jelly-like mochi with toasted soybean powder), and a sampler plate with 4 Japanese sweet cakes. The setting was perfect; low tables, cushions, tatami floors, and floor-to-ceiling windows where we could watch the rainy day go by.
If you happen to visit Takayama when during a bad stretch of weather, this is the perfect rainy day activity.

Trying Japanese Desserts at a Traditional Tea House in Takayama, Japan:
Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a vlogging travel couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world. Our most recent trip was to Japan where we spent 2 months traveling around the country and visiting the following destinations: Osaka, Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, Nikko, Takayama, Yokohama, Odaiba, Shirakawa-gō and Takao.
During our stay, we visited a mixture of big cities and small rural towns, where we enjoyed eating Japanese street food, trying traditional Japanese cuisine, visiting local attractions and staying in unique accommodations (such as capsule hotels and ryokans) that we are now going to share with you on this channel. The combination and contrast of visiting futuristic cities and traditional countryside areas is what makes travel to Japan so fascinating. Ultra modern versus traditional. This is the essence of Japan.
Our trip to Japan was unforgettable and until now it is one of our favorite countries that we have come to know. However, we only feel as though we just scratched the surface on this trip to Japan. If you want to see more videos from Japan in the future, let us know in the comments that places you'd like us to travel to and food experiences you would like to see on this travel channel.
Have you traveled to Japan before? What was your experience like? Please share your Japan travel tips, advice and experiences in the comments below.
Thanks again for watching our Japan series! Until next time!
