Festival of Vintage at York Racecourse, 2014
We took the five hour drive to the 4th annual Festival of Vintage to be held at York Racecourse. It was spread-out across 2 buildings with 3 floors of the finest vintage and reproduction items.
There were fashion parades, dance lessons, hair & make-up by Bethany Jane Davies, sewing sessions in a 'Make-do and Mend' corner and much more!
We caught-up with organiser Keeley Harris of Discover Vintage as well as Ana, Editor-in-Chief of V&OAK magazine for a chat, and got the chance to do a spot of vintage shopping (managing to bag some wonderful items!)

Artist Spent 6 Months Creating A Fake Grocery Store Completely Made Of Felt
There's a new grocery store in New York, but don't try to eat any of the food inside. 8 'Till Late is an art installation from British artist Lucy Sparrow that sells products you would typically find in an NYC bodega, except everything is made out of felt. It's perfect for Instagramming, and yes, there's even a bodega cat.

How to make a Savile Row Suit (Part 1) – with Anderson & Sheppard | FASHION AS DESIGN
Follow the making of a bespoke three-piece suit in the style of Savile Row at the helm of one of the best British tailors, Anderson & Sheppard. – Behind a drawn curtain, a master cutter takes an initial series of 27 measurements: 20 for the jacket, 7 for the trousers. From these measurements, the cutter fashions a pattern in heavy brown paper. At the cutter’s table, the cloth is cut in using heavy shears, and the many pieces of fabric are rolled for each garment into tiny packages, which await the tailors.
Watch Part 2 of How to make a Savile Row Suit
FASHION AS DESIGN is a new course by MoMA that explores a selection of garments from around the world—ranging from Kente cloth to jeans to 3D-printed dresses. Each week will begin with a conversation between the course instructors—Paola Antonelli, Michelle Fisher, and Stephanie Kramer—that introduces the themes, items, and questions that we will explore.
