My friends and I spent an awesome ten days exploring Jamaica, traveling around the entire island. From Kingston to Ocho Rios, Montego Bay, Negril, Treasure Beach, back to Kingston, Port Antonio and then back down to Kingston again to catch our flight home. It was a crazy adventure with highs and lows, and tons of amazing memories. Highlights include the Dunn's River Falls, the Blue Hole, Ricks Cafe, and eating the most amazing fish in Port Antonio.

This was my very first trip alone outside of the US. Very daring but very adventurous. Despite going in the middle of Hurricane Season, Tropical storm Issaac missed Jamaica and Atlanta and it only rained twice the whole time. :) Not only did i do everything i wanted but i also did everything i wanted within a set budget. I got the opportunity to see Montego Bay, Ocho Rios where i stayed, Negril overnight, and Kingston in just four days. Even though I spend half my time on the road, the road traveling allowed me to see a lot of the heart of Jamaica. I am happy to say that I spend my 24th birthday just 3 weeks after Jamaicas 50th independence day and Usain Bolts recent Olympic Victories. I have much respect for Jamaican people, lifestyle and culture as much of the island is poor. In addition to rich culture and beauty, Jamaica is home to great music. Aside from wishing i stayed in Negril for a second night, this trip was a huge accomplishment in regards to future travel alone. I learned how to use other currency versus my own and i know how I should blend in with locals if necessary. lol

We got to have some good oxtail which I really enjoyed. Ocho Rios is a pretty chill touristic town and I hope to get the chance to fully tour it for some good Jamaican food one day.

My favorite part of travel is the travel.. Like you ever watch a video or movie of a beautiful place and wondered how the h*ll did they get there ? ..I bet there were some obstacles. Buut anywho, we missed our 1st flight. Booked a different flight then missed the connecting flight!!! then had to spend the nite in Florida.. ahah it was all good tho me and Toya had thee best time still!

At about 180 feet (55 m) high and 600 feet (180 m) long, the waterfalls are terraced like giant natural stairs though some incorporate man-made improvements. Several small lagoons are interspersed among the vertical sections of the falls.
The falls empty into the Caribbean Sea at the western end of an attractive white-sand beach.
Climbing the waterfalls is a popular tourist activity and is often, but not exclusively, performed with the help of tour guides from the park. It takes about 1-1.5 hours to climb with short breaks for photographs & video recordings taken by the guides. There are also stairs, alongside of the falls, for those who do not want to get wet or are unable to manage the rocky, uneven terrain of the actual waterfall.
