The Black Swan at Helmsley is a historic inn, turned boutique hotel. Its varied exterior, with its black & white timbered, Elizabethan and Georgian elements, portrays a rich history dating back to the C15th. a slideshow of pictures I had taken on a trip to Whitby in Yorkshire, England in September 2013. I had a great time plently of ale and many nice, friendly characters, such a relaxing place to escape the inner City madness. There's the award winning Magpie 'Fish n' Chips restaurant' which is worth a visit and the abbey at the top of a 199 steps, a kipper hut, great pubs i.e The Ship Inn, Buck Inn, Black Swan, a seafood haven. burger bars, candy shops, outdoor market, arcades, the pier and harbour, boat trips, buskers, karaoke in a few pubs, Whitby is a fishing port full of a character and is the place where the Dracula novels were thought up.

Sallyport Rapper Whitby 2011
As a riposte to Kingsmen's finale stunt at Sidmouth, Sallyport fielded three rapper teams, a clog dancer and the ubiquitous Aubrey O' Brien at the last night at Whitby. The resultant 17 sword lock beat Kingsmen's 13 but collapsed under the impact of stepping.
