Last weekend I went to the beach with Leina to celebrate Umi no Hi, or Ocean Day. It was absolutely beautiful and I'm so glad we got to go! The sea is one of the things I miss the most about living in NZ, especially in summer, so it was a great trip. (:

Japan Trip: Exploring the Sandanbeki Caves in Wakayama 24
Visitors interested in nature are recommended to visit Sandanbeki, located on the Kii Peninsula in the Shirahama Region of Wakayama Prefecture. The Sandanbeki cliffs, 3 steep cliffs, are famous for their view of the Pacific Ocean. Visitors can look into the deep ocean with its waves crashing onto the sides of the cliffs.
Visitors are also recommended to visit the Sandanbeki caves, located within the cliffs. From the top of the cliffs, visitors will need to take an elevator down into the network of caves. Sandanbeki consists of three steep cliffs with a large network of caves at the water level. As the caves are located at sea level, visitors will witness water emerging through the caves. There is a shrine within the caves and visitors will enjoy exploring and examining this magnificent creation of Mother Nature.
