A Walk Around The 10th Arrondissement of Paris
The 10th arrondissement of Paris (Xe arrondissement) is one of the 20 arrondissements of the capital city of France. In spoken French, this arrondissement is referred to as dixième (10th arrondissement of Paris = dixième arrondissement de Paris).
The arrondissement, called Entrepôt (warehouse), is situated on the right bank of the River Seine. The arrondissement contains two of Paris's six main railway stations: the Gare du Nord and the Gare de l'Est. Built during the 19th century, these two termini are among the busiest in Europe.
The 10th arrondissement also contains a large portion of the Canal Saint-Martin, linking the northeastern parts of Paris with the River Seine.

Canal St. Martin, 10th Arrondissement | Paris Rental Connections
This spacious 44 square metre apartment (474 square feet) has a bright bird's eye view from its 5th floor position with elevator on the Quai de Jemmapes.
This apartment can only be booked long term so a minimum of 6 months.
Quai de Jemmapes is on the canal St. Martin, within walking distance of the Marais. This is a trendy Boho (bohemian, chic) area with independent local shops, supermarkets, food and art markets, as well as a great choice of restaurants and cafes.
Just outside the apartment you will be able to take a leisurely promenade along the water's edge of the Canal. This romantic area has long been used in French black & white films for its old world charm. Walking along the canal you will encounter squares and antique iron footbridges and other picturesque delights.
The apartment has been fully renovated with taste and comes fully equipped. It is a relaxing place to come back to after the hustle and bustle of a day out visiting Paris.
The flat is organized around a wide entrance with wardrobe, big mirror and a chest of drawers, the living room has a sofa-bed which converts into a double bed, and the dining table has seating for 4.
The separate kitchen with fold-down table can be used for a quick breakfast and has a magic view of Paris and comes fully equipped. The bedroom is comfortable with a double bed and the room gets lots of light. There is a large modern bathroom which contains the washing machine.
From the french windows in all 3 rooms you can see great views of Paris including the Sacre Coeur.
There is a car parking space for one car in the basement of the building.

The countryside in Paris. A 3 storey house set in a quiet garden courtyard with 3 bedrooms. Located in the new more trendy than the Marais, Canal St Martin.
Within walking distance to Gare de l'Est and Gare du Nord this amazing house is more than a dream come true for anyone visiting Paris.
Once in the house enter into the entrance with the sweeping staircase and open plan kitchen and living room. The dining table can accomodate 6 or more. Step downstairs to reach the Chill out room which can be used to accomodate one person on the single bed or can be used as a TV watching room or office. It has a wc and a sink.
Please note that the stairs are very old stone stairs that are narrow and quite steep at times - for this reason we cannot offer the house to kids under 6 or seniors with walking difficulties.
Bedroom 1 is upstairs it has a wonderful light coming in from the 2 large windows which are flooded with sunlight. There is a real walk-in closet set with wooden shelves. A small desk space and commode. the double bed measures 140x200cm
The Bathroom is on the first floor and has a Japanese slate bath and shower with overhead shower and shower hose. The glass ceiling gives a good dose of wake-up light and illuminates the space. You can take a bath too. The lovely old fashioned large sink is silky smooth. The second wc of the house is in the bathroom.
Walking up to the second floor is the second bedroom - be careful when you walk up as there is a low beam as you enter. This has a double bed and has a floodlit velux window in the roof. You can sit under the gables to read some books but that part of the room has a low ceiling. The bedroom itself has a normal height.
The bed is 140x190cm.
Location
The flat is about 10 minutes away from metro Gare de l'ESt (lines 4,5 & 7) and 15 to 20mns walk from Gare du Nord. Republique is about 13mns walk.
A few minutes walk away is the lovely Jardin Villemin on the corner of the Rue des Recollets and Quai de Valmy. One of the biggest green areas of the 10th arrondissement it has a kids play area and a huge collection of centenial trees. The park is partly run by the locals as a community project. The Couvent Villemin now has a cafe. Along with the Canal itself it's a haven of peace.
In the spring and summer evenings, the canal-side is a popular picnic place for local people, and aspiring musicians who sometimes entertain the diners. Cafés and quirky boutiques flank the water, which is traversed by beautiful wrought-iron footbridges (remember the skimming stones in the opening shot of the movie Amelie”? this is where it was filmed).
There is an outdoor market along the canal in the direction of Bastille, which is open Thursdays and Sundays (largest market in Paris), the Bastille creative art market on the same location every Saturday. On Sundays, the streets directly alongside the canal, Quai de Valmy and Quai de Jemmapes, are reserved for pedestrians, roller-bladers and cyclists - perfect for renting a bike and seeing the city from a different perspective.
Another possibility is to take a tour of the canal by boat. Visitors of all ages should find something to love alongside the Canal Saint-Martin including numerous playgrounds along the canal going towards Bastille (15 minutes away). Try dinner in the excellent brasserie at Hotel du Nord, or the nearby La Marine, or a hearty feast at Bastille's Bofinger Restaurant. The famous Chez Prune cafe is also just 10 minutes walk along the canal.
Place de la République in Paris | Explore France
The Place de la République (formerly known as the Place du Château d'Eau) is a square in Paris, located on the border between the 3rd, 10th and 11th arrondissements. The square has an area of 3.4 ha (8.4 acres). It is named after the French Republic, was called the Place du Château-d'Eau until 1879, and contains a monument which includes a statue of the personification of France, Marianne.
The Métro station of République lies beneath the square.
Place de la République is one of the favorite places to hang out and relax within the busy areas of the three arrondissement (3rd, 10th, and 11th). The square is also frequently used as a gathering place among protesters and student activists.

Travel Paris. These are the top ten things to do while in Paris France. From the obvious tourist attractions like the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and the Louvre to a few less ordinary still awesome things like night club party boats, dinner cruse and an interesting way to eat authentic fine french cuisine. A lot of french people frown upon the restaurants around the tourist locations and dinner boats saying they serve pre made frozen food and not real French food. Even though their food is still decent, you can get around this by going to the most expensive restaurants in the city and just ordering the appetizers which are always great. The Effiel tower features a fast food snack shop and Champaign bar at the top. I forgot about wine, you need to drink lots of wine while you're in Paris, get a nice Bordeaux, I think I actually spelled Bordeaux right, shit! That's awesome. Tour of Paris. Passy (16th Arrondissement of Paris) | Explore France
Passy was a commune on the outskirts of Paris. In 1658, hot springs were discovered around which spa facilities were developed. This attracted Parisian society and English visitors, some of whom made the area, which combined attractive countryside with both modest houses and fine residences, their winter retreat.
Passy is popularly known as the hometown of Balzac...as well as some of the notable people in history and pop culture.
