A global power city, New York City has been described as the cultural, financial, and media capital of the world, and exerts a significant impact upon commerce, entertainment, research, technology, education, politics, tourism, art, fashion, and sports. The city's fast pace has inspired the term New York minute.Home to the headquarters of the United Nations, New York is an important center for international diplomacy.
Situated on one of the world's largest natural harbors, New York City consists of five boroughs, each of which is a separate county of the State of New York. The five boroughs – Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, The Bronx, and Staten Island – were consolidated into a single city in 1898. The city and its metropolitan area constitute the premier gateway for legal immigration to the United States. As many as 800 languages are spoken in New York, making it the most linguistically diverse city in the world.New York City is home to more than 3.2 million residents born outside the United States, the largest foreign-born population of any city in the world. New York is home to the highest number of billionaires of any city in the world.
New York City traces its origins to a trading post founded by colonists from the Dutch Republic in 1624 on Lower Manhattan; the post was named New Amsterdam in 1626. The city and its surroundings came under English control in 1664 and were renamed New York after King Charles II of England granted the lands to his brother, the Duke of York. New York was the capital of the United States from 1785 until 1790,and has been the largest US city since 1790. The Statue of Liberty greeted millions of immigrants as they came to the U.S. by ship in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and is an international symbol of the U.S. and its ideals of liberty and peace. In the 21st century, New York has emerged as a global node of creativity and entrepreneurship, social tolerance, and environmental sustainability, and as a symbol of freedom and cultural diversity. In 2019, New York was voted the greatest city in the world per a survey of over 30,000 people from 48 cities worldwide, citing its cultural diversity.

The Sky bar New York has three rooms with different environments, and each with its independent sound and video matrix. Skyroom NYC also has a private entrance with a dedicated elevator, a candlelight lounge, large screen TVs with Direct TV, private TVs in cabanas, state of the art AV system and sound, lasers, smoke machines, dance lights, and DJs every night.

Dress code
Skyroom NYC is an exclusive lounge, but like most bars & restaurants in New York, there’s no dress code per se other than wearing shoes and shirt.
Gentlemen often go to the Sky Room Lounge NYC with formal attires: dress pants, long sleeve shirt, a tie or a bow, a jacket, a pair of cute shoes, and no hat. A watch will always amp a man’s attire up a notch. And another piece of advice: leave the corporate looks at home, nobody goes to do business at a nightclub.
Ladies can wear long or short dresses, a skirt combined with a blouse, a denim jacket, a leather jacket, long sleeves, or anything that looks both sexy and elegant on them. A cocktail dress is especially recommended at the Skyroom rooftop, together with the best jewelry and perfumes you’ve got at your disposal.
Bottle Service Package
Sky Room Manhattan has a great variety of services, including bottles of vodka, rum, Scotch, whiskey, cachaça, tequila, bourbon, cognac, champagne, Magnum, and Jeroboam.
You can order a service for four people, and Sky Lounge NYC delivers the double, four glasses, a bucket of ice, and the companion drink if needed.
The lowest price for a Skyroom Times Square service is $275, which will get, for example, Absolut Vodka or Absolut Elyx Vodka; Bacardi, Captain Morgan, and Malibu Rum.
Other prices escalate to $700, like Patron Tequila and Courvoisier Cognac, but the most expensive service is a bottle of Don Perignon Magnum, which goes for $2300; and the $4000 Perrier Jouet Fleur Jeroboam.
Sky Room New York also has large format services, based on availability: you can pre-order beforehand either a 6L or a 12L Perrier Jouet.
Happy hour at the Sky Lounge NYC occurs on weekdays from 5 PM to 7 PM. During that time, there’s usually a live DJ, shows, and other surprises. There’s a Thursday special at Sky Room Times Square: Bacardi Light Mojitos until 10 PM for $7.
Food service is available while the Sky bar NYC is open. The Sky Room NYC serves snacks for a price range of $8 to $12. The house favorites are the $14 Skyroom hotel NYC Calamari, the $14 Chef’s Beef Sliders, or the $16 Thin Crust Pizza Supreme. They also serve other small plates and salads.
The Sky Room NYC is available for private events, and it’s a perfect venue for birthday parties, holiday parties, photo shoots & fashion shows.
Their in-house services include an event planning staff, catering staff, graphic designers, florist, mixologist, creative and sound technician, a kitchen, and international food. The service also includes all of the amenities, space, and equipment of the Skyroom Lounge NYC, including a DJ.
Guestlist
You can make reservations through the Sky Room guestlist form at nightclubsinnyc.org by filling out your full name, your birthday, email, phone, the number of guests coming with you, and the day you’re going. Ladies on the guest list will enter for free, while gentlemen pay half the regular price.

New York City-Off The Beaten Path (with Facts/Figures)
I took a bite out of The Big Apple by visiting places in New York City that many tourists may not be aware of but should be. Of course, I did start out in Times Square (which once had 132 brothels in the area!) which is high on any tourist's list but after that, I saw many lesser known attractions which I thought were pretty cool, like the Metropolitan Life Insurance Tower building, the David N. Dinkins Municipal building, historic Trinity Church (where George Washington prayed), the Flatiron building, the High Line, Columbus Circle, Lincoln Center, Plaza Hotel (where the Beatles stayed and Kevin McCallister stayed in Home Alone 2), FAO Schwartz toy store (which is no longer open), Fifth Avenue shops for the rich and famous, Trump Tower, Carnegie Hall, the One57 building, St. Bart's Church, the Waldorf Astoria hotel, the 8 Spruce St. building, and the United Nations. I hope you enjoy the tour!

230 Fifth Avenue Rooftop Video 02222014 001
This video is a video that I took from the Rooftop Lounge at 230 Fifth Avenue on February 22nd, 2014. The rooftop is on top of the 20th Floor and it was actually quite windy on that day. February had been cold but that day the temperature made it up to 50 degrees. Overall its really well worth the trip to visit and have brunch/lunch on the weekend. Naturally the food is priced in light of the view, but frankly its really well worth it. In this video I pan across Midtown from Midtown East to Midtown and then zoom into the New York Life Building and then the New York Metropolitan Life Tower

Manhattan Rooftop Bar View (5th Avenue) - In A Brooklyn Minute (Week 99)
RE-PUBLISHED (original date: March 22, 2012) -- --
Views of 5th Avenue and surrounding buildings from Salon de Ning, the rooftop bar above the Peninsula Hotel (at 55th Street).
When I first dreamed of moving to New York City (at age 14) I always had the vision of living in a Penthouse with amazing views of skyscrapers, water towers and rooftop gardens. Instead I've always been living in Brooklyn on the ground floor with gardens for my cats and friends to hang out.
So it's always a special treat to enjoy an evening on a roof with a view - especially with interesting company and a Vodka Collins.
This week was an especially crappy one; with the death of our cat Jarmo, which is more heart-breaking than I had expected, and other bad changes, which will hopefully turn around again real soon. The only exception was that escapist Wednesday when I joined two celebrations in Manhattan - one which I'm not allowed to disclose yet and then the birthday of Maxx Klaxxon at Salon de Ning.
Throughout the week and today I've been collecting video for a bright and beautiful video. But in the end the dark, moody and foggy views of the nighttime city from an unusual perspective and distance seemed most fitting.
Next week for the 100th episode you can expect something more lively again. I think.
The featured song was again (in a surprisingly different genre) written and performed by Jason Matherne of Goonygoogoo Productions.
