Beverly Hills 4K - Los Angeles USA
Driving Downtown Streets - Rodeo Drive - Beverly Hills California USA - Episode 76.
Starting Point: .
Rodeo Drive is a two-mile-long street, in Beverly Hills, California, with its southern segment in the City of Los Angeles. The name is most commonly used metonymically to refer to the three-block stretch of the street north of Wilshire Boulevard and south of Little Santa Monica Boulevard, which is known for its luxury goods stores. The larger business district surrounding Rodeo, known as the Golden Triangle, which extends from Wilshire Boulevard to Santa Monica Boulevard, is both a shopping district and a tourist attraction.
Origin Of A New Image
In 1967 Fred Hayman, the father of Rodeo Drive, opened Giorgio Beverly Hills, the street's first high-end boutique. In 1968 Aldo Gucci opened a store on Rodeo, which catalyzed the process by which the street took on its present form.
According to erstwhile co-chair of the Rodeo Drive Committee Richard Carroll, the transformation of Rodeo Drive into an international center of fashionable shopping was sparked in 1971 with the opening of a new wing of the Beverly Wilshire. In 1977 the Rodeo Drive Committee launched a publicity campaign designed to make everyone around the world think of Rodeo Drive as the shopping street of the rich and famous.
In 1976, Bijan Pakzad opened a showroom on Rodeo, which helped to solidify Rodeo Drive's reputation as a luxury shopping destination. Pakzad touted his Rodeo Drive store as the most expensive in the world, but, as Women's Wear Daily notes in relation to the claim, he was known for hyperbole. The building at 332 N. Rodeo was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
International Fashion Centre
Two Rodeo Drive was built in 1990. It initially housed, amongst other stores, Christian Dior and Valentino. The original developer, Douglas Stitzel, sold the property for about $200 million immediately after its completion. The shopping center was hard-hit by the early 1990s recession, with occupancy rates dropping to as low as 60%, and the buyers sold it at an almost $70 million loss in 2000. By 2007 the property was financially stable again and was sold to a group of Irish investors for $275 million. It resembles a “faux-European shopping alley” and features a cobblestone street. Some architects have claimed that Two Rodeo Drive is similar to a theme park in the manner of Disneyland.
Walk of Style
In 2003, Rodeo Drive was given an $18 million makeover which included widening the streets and the addition of crosswalks. The ficus trees lining the street were taken out and replaced with palm trees. In September of the same year, the Rodeo Drive Committee developed the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style. The Walk of Style features plaques set in the sidewalks along Rodeo Drive. At the intersection of Rodeo Drive and Dayton Way is the majestic, nude sculpture entitled Torso. This famed statue was created by world-renowned sculptor Robert Graham and is the symbol for the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style.
Events
Every Father's day, the annual Rodeo Drive Concours d'Elegance occurs on Rodeo Drive, displaying some of the world’s most expensive automobiles. Travel publisher Frommer's named it one of the 300 Unmissable Events & Festivals Around the World.
“Fashion’s Night Out” is an event that was created in 2009 in New York City in hopes of boosting the economy during the recession.
It also hosts the annual Rodeo Drive Festival of Watches and Jewelry
Beverly Hills, California
Beverly Hills is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States, surrounded by the cities of Los Angeles and West Hollywood. Originally a Spanish ranch where lima beans were grown, Beverly Hills was incorporated in 1914 by a group of investors who had failed to find oil, but found water instead and eventually decided to develop it into a town. By 2013, its population had grown to 34,658. Sometimes referred to as 90210, one of its primary ZIP codes, it was home to many actors and celebrities throughout the 20th century. The city includes the Rodeo Drive shopping district and the Beverly Hills Oil Field.

Los Angeles - City Video Guide
Los Angeles, Southern California, is known for its sunshine, entertainment industry and openness to newcomers.
In Downtown Los Angeles, Olvera Street is one of the oldest surviving areas in L.A., to experience the colors and tastes of Old Mexico. Just across the road is Union Station, which has appeared in almost 30 big-budget movies.
The main attractions in Los Angeles include Knott's Berry Park, the Aquarium of the Pacific and, of course, Disneyland. Rodeo Drive, in the heart of Beverly Hills, is the world's most expensive and exclusive shopping area.
Hollywood is the epicenter of the world's entertainment industry. Highlights are the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Grauman's Chinese Theater. Griffith Park is America's largest and wildest urban park. Perched high on the slopes of Mount Hollywood, you'll find the Griffith Observatory here.
West Hollywood is a haven for artists and designers. As evening falls, head to the iconic clubs of Sunset Strip, such as The Viper Room and Whiskey a Go Go.

Big Santa Monica and West Los Angeles driving tour. No Music.

GTA V drive around Los Angeles:
This is a driving tour of the west part of Los Angeles California. This drive takes you through the streets of the Santa Monica CA with a few stops that have nice views of the Pacific ocean, about 30 yards from the cliff. Below the hand rail, there is about 100-foot drop and Pacific coast highway, that goes along the ocean to Malibu city California travel tour.
West Los Angeles starts below the hills of Bel Air, very nice residential community, with home prices starting at $15 millions, it goes down to Culver city, home of the Sony Studios. This is from North to South.
This is a travel tour of Santa Monica City and west side of Los Angeles California.
From West to East it's located between Santa Monica city and Westwood area, home of the UCLA.
Due in part to an agreeable climate, Santa Monica became a famed resort town by the early 20th century. The city has experienced a boom since the late 1980s through the revitalization of its downtown core, significant job growth and increased tourism. The Santa Monica Pier remains a popular and iconic destination.
Hundreds of movies have been shot or set in part within the city of Santa Monica.[92] One of the oldest exterior shots in Santa Monica is Buster Keaton's Spite Marriage (1929) which shows much of 2nd Street. The comedy It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963) included several scenes shot in Santa Monica, including those along the California Incline, which led to the movie's treasure spot, The Big W. The Sylvester Stallone film Rocky III (1982) shows Rocky Balboa and Apollo Creed training to fight Clubber Lang by running on the Santa Monica Beach, and Stallone's Demolition Man (1993) includes Santa Monica settings. Henry Jaglom's indie Someone to Love (1987), the last film in which Orson Welles appeared, takes place in Santa Monica's venerable Mayfair Theatre. Heathers (1989) used Santa Monica's John Adams Middle School for many exterior shots. The Truth About Cats & Dogs (1996) is set entirely in Santa Monica, particularly the Palisades Park area, and features a radio station that resembles KCRW at Santa Monica College. 17 Again (2009) was shot at Samohi. Other films that show significant exterior shots of Santa Monica include Fletch (1985), Species (1995), Get Shorty (1995), and Ocean's Eleven (2001). Richard Rossi's biopic Aimee Semple McPherson opens and closes at the beach in Santa Monica. Iron Man features the Santa Monica pier and surrounding communities as Tony Stark tests his experimental flight suit.
History of Santa Monica, California
Santa Monica was long inhabited by the Tongva people. Santa Monica was called Kecheek in the Tongva language.
The first non-indigenous group to set foot in the area was the party of explorer Gaspar de Portolà, who camped near the present-day intersection of Barrington and Ohio Avenues on August 3, 1769. Named after the Christian saint Monica, there are two different accounts of how the city's name came to be. One says it was named in honor of the feast day of Saint Monica (mother of Saint Augustine), but her feast day is May 4. Another version says it was named by Juan Crespí on account of a pair of springs, the Kuruvungna Springs (Serra Springs), that were reminiscent of the tears Saint Monica shed over her son's early impiety
In Los Angeles, several battles were fought by the Californios.
Following the Mexican–American War, Mexico signed the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which gave Mexicans and Californios living in state certain unalienable rights. US government sovereignty in California began on February 2, 1848.
In the 1870s the Los Angeles and Independence Railroad, connected Santa Monica with Los Angeles, and a wharf out into the bay. The first town hall was a modest 1873 brick building, later a beer hall, and now part of the Santa Monica Hostel.
It is Santa Monica's oldest extant structure. By 1885, the town's first hotel was the Santa Monica Hotel.
Amusement piers became enormously popular in the first decades of the 20th century and the extensive Pacific Electric Railroad brought people to the city's beaches from across the Greater Los Angeles
Around the start of the 20th century, a growing population of Asian Americans lived in and around Santa Monica and Venice. A Japanese fishing village was near the Long Wharf while small numbers of Chinese lived or worked in Santa Monica and Venice. The two ethnic minorities were often viewed differently by White Americans who were often well-disposed towards the Japanese but condescending towards the Chinese.

Venice is a residential, commercial, and recreational beachfront neighborhood within Los Angeles, California. It is located within the urban region of western Los Angeles County known as the Westside.
Venice was founded in 1905 as a seaside resort town. It was an independent city until 1926, when it merged with Los Angeles. Today, Venice is known for its canals, beaches, and the circus-like Ocean Front Walk, a two-and-a-half-mile (4.0 km) pedestrian promenade that features performers, fortune-tellers, artists and vendors. In the latter half of the 2010s, the neighborhood has faced severe gentrification that raised real-estate prices and pushed out many long-term inhabitants.

Things to do in Los Angeles : 3 Day Travel Guide & Bonus Activity
Los Angelas is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world. It is massive in size and very diverse which makes it feel overwhelming to try to see and do everything. In this video we will take you through how we spent 3 days in LA so that you can have an example itinerary to help you plan your trip.
We will be visiting iconic locations such as Hollywood, Beverley Hills, Venice Beach, and Santa Monica. We also took time to visit the up and coming downtown which includes the amazing Grand Central Market and Broad museum and throughout this video we will show a glimpse of some of the amazing food we ate in LA (There were so much amazing food that it was impossible to fit everything in)!
Keep in mind that there is a lot of things that you can do when you visit LA so it is impossible to fit everything in just 3 days. When planning a trip to LA we recommend that you focus on the things that you know you will enjoy and be comfortable with the fact that you won't be able to see everything. If there is something we didn't cover please include it in the description below so that we can all help each other!
