IMPEACHMENT TRIAL LIVE: Senators ask final questions in President Trump's impeachment trial – 1/30/2020
Impeachment trial of President Trump | Jan. 23, 2020 (FULL LIVE STREAM)
Opening arguments in President Trump’s impeachment trial began on Jan. 22 in the Senate. House managers, led by Rep. Adam B. Schiff (D-Calif.), will present three days of opening arguments. Then, senators will have 16 hours to ask questions in writing. Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. will read the questions out loud, and the appropriate side — defense or prosecution — can answer them.
President Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives in December for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Impeachment does not mean that the president has been removed from office. In the next phase, the Senate must hold a trial to make that determination. A Senate impeachment trial has happened only two other times in American history and once in the modern era. At the center of the Democrats’ case is that Trump sought to withhold military assistance and an Oval Office meeting until Ukraine announced investigations into former vice president Joe Biden and his son.

U.S. House: Debate & Vote on Articles of Impeachment
The House Rules Committee debates and votes on two articles of impeachment against President Trump: abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford full testimonies before the Senate Judiciary Committee
Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault when they were teenagers, both testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday. Ford said during her testimony that she was 100 percent sure that Kavanaugh assaulted her, while Kavanaugh said that he was 100 percent sure he had not done anything of the kind. The differences are irreconcilable.
After the full day of dramatic testimony, Kavanaugh's supporters in the Senate were largely ready to move forward with his confirmation vote, though a few key senators remained undecided Thursday night as his confirmation hangs in the balance. The Judiciary Committee is scheduled to vote on Kavanaugh's confirmation Friday.

Nearly 100 people drown every year in the U.S. because of rip currents. Researchers took to the wate
Researchers took to the waters off North Carolina Wednesday to set up rip current data-logging drifters.
About 100 people each year in the U.S. drown because of rip currents, and about 80 percent of swimmers who must be rescued in the ocean are caught in them, according to the United States Lifesaving Association, a nonprofit lifeguard group.
The data-gathering drifters, are designed to help identify the movement of rip currents along specific shorelines.
Many characteristics of shorelines can affect rip current movement such as slope of surf zone, shape of the offshore sandbars, the wave height/direction and the tide elevation.
The information will help researchers and forecasters learn more about rip currents, potentially leading to more accurate risk assessments and improved safety measures.
When caught in a rip current, officials usually tell swimmers to remain calm and swim parallel to the shore to escape the narrow channel of water.

Battle of Brice's Crossroads - Forrest's Greatest Victory (Lecture)
Join National Park Ranger Matt Atkinson as he explores the controversial Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest. Forrest entered the service as a private and surrendered as a Lieutenant General. Along the way, this uneducated backwoods fellow learned the art of war, culminating in the year 1864 with the controversey at Fort Pillow, his greatest victory at Brice's Crossroads, and an all-out effort by General William T. Sherman to thwart that devil Forrest.
