A very special design which is evocative of ancient Mexican architecture of FLW. It is one of the very few utilitarian buildings that has not been torn down. Alas it is derelict. A nice discovery was
Frank Lloyd Wright Stories - Plans For the Wright Designed A.D. German Warehouse
In 1921, Frank Lloyd Wright designed a warehouse for Richland Center's mercantile A.D. German. This striking structure, built in the Mayan Revival style, consists of four floors, a small theater, and a roof that's previously been used for official dinners and gatherings. The Richland Chamber and Development Alliance sees endless potential in this historical treasure, which could one day house local businesses, a community center, and/or a museum dedicated to the legacy of Frank Lloyd Wright.

Frank Lloyd Wright Stories - Local Interest
The renewed interest in Frank Lloyd Wright and his birthplace has prompted the University of Wisconsin-Richland to incorporate the architect and A.D. German, who commissioned a warehouse in the area from Frank Lloyd Wright, into their Love of Learning lecture series. The hope is that this will bring attention to the A.D. German warehouse, to which the Richland Chamber and Development Alliance hope to restore its historical integrity as a testament to the legacy of Frank Lloyd Wright.

Congratulations part 2
Part 2 resumes with a speech by Phlippe. After some personal comments by a few riders the presenting of the shields commenced. The personal touch about it by Greg was really appreciated by the group. The clapping and cheering shows the good spirit among the group.
Sen. Dale Schultz speaks about the tensions in Wisconsin
Wisconsin state senator Dale Schultz (R-Richland Center) spoke at a public forum held in Dodgeville on February 28, 2011.
A few excerpts:
I know some would cast this whole conversation, or what's going on, as somewhat of a romantic narrative where there are heroes and there are villains. I however don't share those feelings. I only see potential victims.
I hope that when we are done with this budget we will be able to look back and to say, in the best Wisconsin tradition we found a way to come together.
Schultz recalled the Vietnam War protests and the bombing of Sterling Hall, and continued, So to me, when I see a crowd like this, and I see the passions where they're at, I am reminded of what I had seen many, many years ago. And right now, people are civil and passions are held in check, and I think sometimes people almost think this takes on a festival-type atmosphere. But I know as decisions are made and people feel left out, if they feel like they're not being listened to, the potential for that to change is very much at hand. And nothing would make me sadder than to have something terrible happen as a result of what is going on in Madison.
I have not altered my position, I have not told people how I am going to vote, because I am trying my best to bring people together. And when you draw a line in the sand and you are definitive in what you say, people tend to move away from you, closer to the abyss. I want to bring people together. I want a dialogue.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
The Manhattan Project was a research and development undertaking during World War II that produced the first nuclear weapons. It was led by the United States with the support of the United Kingdom and Canada. From 1942 to 1946, the project was under the direction of Major General Leslie Groves of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Nuclear physicist Robert Oppenheimer was the director of the Los Alamos Laboratory that designed the actual bombs. The Army component of the project was designated the Manhattan District; Manhattan gradually superseded the official codename, Development of Substitute Materials, for the entire project. Along the way, the project absorbed its earlier British counterpart, Tube Alloys. The Manhattan Project began modestly in 1939, but grew to employ more than 130,000 people and cost nearly US$2 billion (about $23 billion in 2018 dollars). Over 90% of the cost was for building factories and to produce fissile material, with less than 10% for development and production of the weapons. Research and production took place at more than 30 sites across the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
Two types of atomic bombs were developed concurrently during the war: a relatively simple gun-type fission weapon and a more complex implosion-type nuclear weapon. The Thin Man gun-type design proved impractical to use with plutonium, and therefore a simpler gun-type called Little Boy was developed that used uranium-235, an isotope that makes up only 0.7 percent of natural uranium. Chemically identical to the most common isotope, uranium-238, and with almost the same mass, it proved difficult to separate the two. Three methods were employed for uranium enrichment: electromagnetic, gaseous and thermal. Most of this work was performed at the Clinton Engineer Works at Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
In parallel with the work on uranium was an effort to produce plutonium. After the feasibility of the world's first artificial nuclear reactor was demonstrated in Chicago at the Metallurgical Laboratory, it designed the X-10 Graphite Reactor at Oak Ridge and the production reactors in Hanford, Washington, in which uranium was irradiated and transmuted into plutonium. The plutonium was then chemically separated from the uranium, using the bismuth phosphate process. The Fat Man plutonium implosion-type weapon was developed in a concerted design and development effort by the Los Alamos Laboratory.
The project was also charged with gathering intelligence on the German nuclear we ...
