Austin Road Trip! (Tubing, Graffiti Park, AND Cigars!)
Almost immediately after our car show debut, we booked it back to the house to get out of town. We jumped in my brothers Kia Sorento and headed for Austin. We got down there Saturday Night late because we stopped at Buc-ees, but it was worth it. We stayed in San Marcos so it was a short drive to get to New Braunfels where we floated the Comal River. The river is AMAZING because it stays clean, and it runs right up next to Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels.
After Floating we ran back to our hotel to wash up, and go shopping a little bit at the Outlets in San Marcos.
Our plans to go by the Hamilton Pool Preserve were shot down by both a lack of reservation and reading more into it, the pool had a high bacteria level so we wouldn't be able to swim anyway..
We turned that into our opportunity to head to 6th Street in Austin to grab some cigars at Bobalus, as well as check out the Texas State Capitol building.
After touring downtown Austin we went over to the Graffiti park to see all of the amazing and very colorful artwork. A small hike to the top got us a great view of the city as well as a short interview with a couple of artists that were painting up there.
This trip was a nice change of pace from the busy day to day life, but now i'm back on a normal schedule again.

2703 Citation Dr FOR SALE Austin's closest premier riverfront retreat with private island
The ultimate river retreat. Private island getaway. FOR SALE. fisherman's/outdoorsman's dream.
Please send all inquiries to kristi@spyglassrealty.com
15 min from Austin Bergstrom International Airport, 30 min from the state capital and in a world of it’s own. 4+ acres of the most prime river frontage that can be found between Austin and Bastrop. This frontage features a spit in the river that maintains the constant flow of the river through a small rapids while creating 3 permanent islands, the first of which is part of the property.
If you enjoy fishing, or have not been able to fish but know that you would love too… Now is your chance! Enjoy fishing from your own banks or launch a boat with your own private boat launch. The configuration of the island and the river make one of natures rarest lazy river loops where a one hundred yard portage keeps you in an endless loop in front of the property. The islands offer flat sandy beaches that are perfect for over night camping in an area that seems beyond civilization.
The property has been leveled, cleared and designed for maximum appreciation of the river. From the road to the house is a level pasture area suitable for horses, goats, or whatever live stock you can image there. A grove of shade trees provide perfect shade to a portion of this pasture and the home. From the house to the river select shade trees, fruit trees and a palm tree dot the landscape while maintaining a clear view of the river that is flowing directly towards the house. The river is perfect in this location to allow a person to ride their horses in the river on those hot Texas days.
The “pasture area” could also be used for food cultivation for those looking to off-grid themselves or are looking for a more natural lifestyle. This property could be developed into a “dream home” location for those that prefer the country life with access to this countries most sought after city life, or the desirablity of the frontage could be used to generate income from renting the property out as a river retreat.
The home is a very well maintained and nicely updated 3/2 mobile home that feature two very nicely built porches one of which is large, covered and faces the river. It is a perfect spot to be outside even on a hot Texas day. The property has water service from Garfield water which is a cooperative with low rates but is a prime candidate for a high capacity shallow well if you desired unlimited water. Gas service is propane. Electric is Bluebonnet which is another cooperative with low prices. Private septic. AT@T provides high speed internet and television to this property.
This is an up and coming neighborhood that benefits from it’s proximity to Austin, while yet being affordable waterfront property. As waterfront prices become unaffordable for many in Austin, those that appreciate water frontage are discovering that riverfront living is just as enjoyable if not more so than lakefront living. For certain people there is nothing more relaxing after a loud busy day in the city, than to hear nothing but the sound of the birds and the bubbling water of a small rapids. This property has that…
Viktor Schauberger - Comprehend and Copy Nature (Documentary of 2008)
The first film about Viktor Schauberger’s life’s work. A comprehensive survey of historical facts, current research and various practical applications into both technology and the natural world.
Available subtitles: English, Romanian
Click here to watch the German version:
This film is also available in Amazon Prime:
Today the Austrian forester Viktor Schauberger is considered to be a pioneer of modern water research and the holistic observation of Nature. As early as the first half of the 20th century he gave urgent warnings of the consequences of uncontrolled exploitation of the environment. As a way out he proposed a radical rethink and the development of totally new concepts of energy production, in harmony with Nature. Schauberger formulated his “C & C principle”: first one has to comprehend Nature, and then one should copy it.
The applications of his ideas and his inventions include devices for refined drinking water, spiral pipes for carrying water with reduced friction, environmentally-friendly river regulation, as well as power generation from water and air using the principle of contraction and inward vortexing.
