After cutting her teeth at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Monique Meloche decided to open her own gallery in the then-up-and-coming warehouse district just west of the loop in 2011, before moving to her current location in West Town. The gallery focuses on Contemporary artists -- an eclectic bunch from Chicago, the U.S. and around the world -- that showcases installations of mixed media and paintings with a decidedly hip vibe.

Chicago - Top 10 attractions | A tour of Michigan Lake & Chicago Park District
Chicago, the Windy City as it is often called, lies along the shores of Lake Michigan. It is known for its vibrant arts scene, numerous cultural attractions, excellent shopping, and interesting architecture. The city enjoys a worldwide reputation as a focal point of 20th-century architecture and art, with architects such as Louis Sullivan and Frank Lloyd Wright, and artists like Picasso, Mirõ, Dubuffet, and Chagall leaving their mark. The city also has much to offer in the sporting sphere, too, with the Chicago Bears in American football, the Chicago White Sox and Cubs in baseball, and the Chicago Bulls in basketball. Last, but not least, are the beautiful beaches.
Top 10 Things to Do - Travel Guide
1 Art Institute of Chicago
The Art Institute of Chicago is a world class museum with hundreds of thousands of artworks.
2- Millennium Park is part of the larger Grant Park, located in downtown Chicago bordered by Michigan Avenue to the west, Columbus Drive to the east, Randolph Street to the north, and Monroe Street to the south.
3- The Navy Pier originally opened in 1916 as an amusement area and shipping facility but is now one of Chicago's most popular tourist attractions.
4- The Museum of Science and Industry.
At the north end of Jackson Park is the Museum of Science and Industry, founded in 1933, and arguably the most impressive museum in Chicago. It is devoted to the application of natural laws in technological and industrial development.
5- Buckingham Memorial Fountain.
Built in 1927 as a donation from the family, the Clarence Buckingham Memorial Fountain is one of the largest in the world. Designed in the period's iconic Art Deco style, the central fountain is surrounded by four seahorses that represent Lake Michigan's four bordering states.
6- Willis Tower SkyDeck
The Willis Tower took three years to build and was opened to the public in 1974. The building is 1,453 feet tall with an observation area, called the SkyDeck, on the 103rd floor, 1,353 feet above the ground. A glass box with a glass floor, known as the Ledge, juts out from the SkyDeck, where visitors can stand and look directly down at the city below.
7- 360 Chicago
Located in the John Hancock Center office building, 360 Chicago is an observation deck on the 94th floor of the John Hancock Building, easy to recognize by its dark metallic looking exterior and cross-braced steel design, which runs up the outside of the building.
8- Field Museum of Natural History
Originally called the Columbian Museum of Chicago, the Field Museum of Natural History was founded in 1893 to showcase the biological and anthropological collections gathered for the World Columbian Exposition. The name changed in 1905 to honor Marshall Field, the department store owner, art patron, and major benefactor of the museum. Address: 1400 South Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, Illinois.
9- Michigan Avenue and the Magnificent Mile
Michigan Avenue is probably one of the most attractive boulevards in America. The city's famous Magnificent Mile is a section of Michigan Avenue north of the Chicago River, with numerous galleries, boutiques, and luxury shops.
10- Wrigley Field, home to the Chicago Cubs, was built in 1914 and is the second-oldest Major League Baseball park in the US, second only to Fenway Park in Boston.
Tips and Tours: How to Make the Most of Your Visit to Chicago
Chicago's history is a big part of what makes it so unique. Taking a tour is definitely recommended if you want to learn about the city's storied past, from the notorious gangsters to the famous buildings. Below are some of the most popular or unique tours on offer in the city:
Chicago's Landmarks: The four-hour Chicago Grand Half-Day Tour is the perfect way to be able to see and learn about the city's most important landmark buildings and sights. The narrated coach tour takes a scenic route along the lake through Grant Park and past some of its most iconic attractions; drives down Chicago's Magnificent Mile; and tours the South Side, where you can see President Obama's former home.
See the sights: For general sightseeing, the Hop-On Hop-Off Bus or Trolley Tour is the easiest and most convenient way to see the highlights of the city and to get oriented. For first timers, this is a must. Get on and off at the sights that interest you, skip those that don't, and learn a little history from this narrated tour.
If you are spending more than one day in the city, do this tour on day one to get the layout of the city and figure out where you might want to spend the rest of your time. If you are visiting during the warmer months, consider taking a Segway Tour. These are small groups of just eight people and one guide. You will be given a short training session and then head off on a guided tour.

35 Things to do in Chicago | Top Attractions Travel Guide
The following travel video is a comprehensive list of the best 35 Things to do in Chicago including all of the top Attractions worth visiting and seeing in this complete travel guide for the Windy City.
Many people don't realize this but Chicago is a world class city with festivals, arts, entertainment, dining and architecture that can rival any city in North America or even Europe. The only other city that I think can compare with Chicago - in terms of attractions - in America is New York. Whether you're scarfing down Chicago style deep dish pizza or taking in a Blues festival you'll find no shortage of things to do in the city. If you're a sport fan there are no shortage of professional teams to follow at any time of the year including the Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears and the Chicago Bulls. When you're thinking of destination to travel to in the United States, Chicago should be near the top of your list. I guarantee that you'll have a lot of fun:

The Loop 19th Century Vice Tour Pt.2. Gamblers, Whores & More, Chicago Crime now & Then
Chicago's downtown loop is a nice but fairly dull part of the city but it wasn't always. Chicago was a frontier town with all the vice and lawlesness that comes with it. So in the 19th century parts of the loop were full of gambling dens, bars, chaep hotels, brothels and other forms of low amusements. This past St. Patricks day I thought it would be a good time to take a little walking tour of some of the hot spots.
We start at Clark and Randolph now home to the Daly center, Thompson Center & The Picasso. In the 1870's after the Chicago fire it was known as gamblers row with games of chance linging the street down to Monroe. At the corner of Monroe & Clark we find the ontime headquarters of Mike McDonald a gambler who is credited with being the man who organized crime and the corruption of city govenrment. Creating a machine that ruled for the better part of a century. He is also said to have invented the term there's a sucker born every minute.
The sin and vice continued down Monroe where the gambling gave way to the prostitutes. Of course at Roger Plants Under the Willow you could women, gambling and just about anything else in the world of vice and depravity. Rogers hayday was the 1860's and his place was so poular with the troops it was also known as the barracks.
The selling of human bodies for sexual pleasure continued south down Wells street. Including one streach between Quincy & Polk that was home to Shinbone Alley home of the colored whores.
The video presented here is part of ChiTownView series Chicago Crime / Now & Then. We show what Chicago's infamous locations and gruesome crime scenes look like today and in the video description telling some of that history with each clip. From it's earliest days Chicago has been a hotbed of sin corruption and vice and those who controlled held money, power and influence. From the first whorehouses across the river from Ft. Dearborn to Big Mike Mc Donald, Hinky Dink & Bathhouse the Lords of the Levee, Big Jim Colosimo, Al Capone, Paul Ricca, Sam Giancana and countless others the story of Chicago is in many ways the story of vice and corruption and the fight against it.
We have used a number of sources in our research these are the main ones.
