SANGEETA GUPTA
is an extremely well connected artist in the Indian culture life, both as
Poet, Film Maker and Artist. She was newly highlighted in the Elite Magazine India as Elite Woman of the year 2019. She has her own gallery in Delhi, Safdurjung: Prithvi fine Art & Cultural Centre.
She has lived in Himalaya and has a deep spiritual background from Himalayan journeys and inspirations. Beside exhibiting at Birla Academy of Art and Culture, Kolkata, which was inaugurated by Mother Theresa 1995, she has held 32 solo shows and 200 group shows all over India and overseas in London, Berlin, Munich, Lahore, Belfast, Thessaloniki Greece, Jerusalem and China. Her 26th solo exhibition was inaugurated by the former President of India Dr A P J Abdul Kalam in 2013.
Her works have been represented at the India Art Fair, New Delhi, in 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2019.
She has also received many awards, honoured as an Artist, and also especially literary awards, awards for Hindi poetry, Poet of the Year, Film Festival Awards, The Great Women Achievers Award and Women Entrepreneurship Award, etc. Her artworks are often abstract visions of colours floating in a spiritual space, Metaphysics meeting nature.

Her art work is best known as geometric abstraction with intense texture impression of the three dimensional space and a sense of kinetic energy.
Because of its visual attractiveness and flawless color application, her paintings become wide known part of the popular culture and spiritual organizations, also because they have a Tantric vision. Her subtle, emotive and expressive canvases held the very logic of hindu ancient philosophy within the contemporary abstract art.

Alka Pande - Slide Lecture : Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi - Amrita Sher-Gil National Art Week
To celebrate the birth centenary year of the legendary Indian Artist Amrita Sher-Gil, Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi organized Amrita Sher-Gil National Art Week from 18th to 24th February 2013.
Designed and conceived by Diwan Manna, artist and Chairman of Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi along with his team of dedicated workers, 19 eminent artists, art critics, art historians, curators, directors of museums, film makers and editors of art journals participated in this unique Art Week.
Participants included stalwarts such as: Anjolie Ela Menon, S. Kalidas, Pushpamala N, Ashok Vajpeyi, Sheba Chhachhi, Kavita Singh, Mithu Sen, Girish Shahane, Navina Sundaram, Dayanita Singh , Anju Dodiya, Sadanand Menon, Tasneem Mehta, Atul Dodiya, Alka Pande, Bhavna Kakar, Roobina Karode, Vivan Sundaram and Nanak Ganguly.

Dr. Alka Pande is currently a Consultant Arts Advisor and Curator of the Visual Arts Gallery at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi.
Dr. Pande earned her B.A. Hons. in Economics from Delhi University. She also has two postgraduate degrees, one in History and the second in History of Art, and a PHD from Panjab University. She was formerly Head of the Department of Fine Arts and the Director of the Museum of Fine Arts, both at Panjab University.
She earned her M.A. in History from Bombay University.
Recipient of the Charles Wallace Award in 1999-2000, Dr. Pande completed her post-doctoral studies in critical art theory at Goldsmiths College, University of London.
She has been responsible for curating several significant and perceptive exhibitions in India and abroad, and given a name to some of the most upcoming and influential artists, photographers and sculptors.
Dr. Pande was a Visiting Faculty for 'Aesthetics' at the Delhi College of Art. She is presently filling the same position at the DJ Academy of Art and Design, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. She has a wide range of academic papers and lectures on diverse aspects of the arts to her credit. Dr. Pande is currently engaged with studies on art, aesthetics and the notions of Indian beauty; a recent book of hers dealt with the concept of the Shringara rasa and its relation to the contemporary conceptualization of Indian beauty.
Dr. Pande is a prolific writer on Indology and art history and is the author of several books, which are well acclaimed, with a few in foreign language translations. With a special interest in Ancient Indian Erotic literature and art, Dr. Pande has done extensive and in-depth study on Indian erotic literature. Another of her publications awaiting release is 'An Anthology of Erotic Indian Literature.' She has been working in the area of gender, identity, visual arts and Indian aesthetics.
In December 2006, she was awarded Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres - Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters - award bequeathed by the French government, to recognise significant contributions in the fields of art and literature.

New Delhi: 25th May,2019 An “Annual Art Exhibition” was organized by Imagination Academy Of Fine Arts from 25th May, 2019 to 30th May, 2019 at All India Fine Arts And Crafts Society which was inaugurated by Mr. Ashwani Prithviwasi, the Founder and Director of DELHI COLLEGE OF ART.
Art is an expression which varies person to person, and an artist is defined as “A person whose creative work shows sensitivity and imagination”. Imagination Academy of Fine Arts is an institute which acts as a breeding ground for young and a great platform for the other age groups too. It is an academy of Fine Arts with the motto “WHERE TALENT MEETS OPPORTUNITY” they try to give abundant amount of knowledge with in an year and their hard work is paid off through several exhibitions organized by the academy. This institute educates students in Visual Arts like Drawing, Painting, Photography, Graphics etc. A lot many technique sand concepts are also created for the individuals without any artistic background hence, talent and a desire to learn is welcomed here whole heartedly.
Through the “Annual Art Exhibition” the academy has tried to provide a platform to all the students of their academy and to appreciate the best of their works.

Arpana Caur interview
Arpana Caur, a Contemporary Indian Artist was in born 1954. She is a distinguished Indian painter and has been exhibited since 1974 across the globe. Her solos apart from Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta, Bangalore and Chennai have been held in galleries in London, Glasgow, Berlin, Amsterdam, Singapore, Munich, New York and in Stockholm and Copenhagen National Museum.
Her work can be seen in Museums of Modern Art in Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Dusseldorf, Singapore, Bradford, Stockholm, Hiroshima, MOCA LA, Peabody Boston, Asian Art Museum San Fransisco and Victoria and Albert Museum London.
She has been extensively written about filmed, invited to various countries and awarded, including a gold medal in VIth International Triennele 1986 in Delhi. She was commissioned by Hiroshima Museum of Modern Art to execute a large work for its permanent collection for the 50th anniversary of the Holocaust in 1995, and by Bangalore city and the city of Hamburg to do large non-commercial murals in public spaces. Since 1981 she did three large non-commercial murals in Delhi.
Today her paintings support several projects for the underprivileged, including free vocational training in the Academy of Fine Arts and Literature of which she along with her mother the renowned writer Ajeet Cour, is the Founder Member. She supports a leprosy home in Ghaziabad, and ration projects for poor and old widows.
