AUDIENCE FEEDBACK AFTER SHOWCASE July 2013 AND TESTIMONIALS
Energetic presence and connection was incredibly strong
Beautiful dance and music
Lots of physical reactions as part of audience
Felt filmic!
Wow -- amazing integration of song, text and physical theatre
Beautiful choreography
Beautiful use of sound and music
A very intense and powerful production
Powerful, strong, delicate, emotional
I loved the body percussion and the layers of sounds building over time
Choir were excellent
Stunning visuals
Really enjoyed the performance -- very powerful staging.
It held so much substance for what is as yet a clear series of episodes of a work in progress. Look forward to seeing the full production
I really enjoyed Moon Fool's Storm. Walking into the focused atmosphere of The Quadrangle was thrilling as Anna-Helena McLean's eerily powerful music supported the actors' strong physicality. The story telling was clear and interesting, and re-imagining The Tempest to focus on specific narratives within Shakespeare's story was a great way to enjoy familiar words anew. The addition of Moon Fool's political environmental message was strong but in keeping with the rest of the work so that it never felt alien or imposed on the story. This Storm promises to be as magical as Prospero's book.

European theatre silver anniv tour - lemag
25 years of networking public theatres across Europe is certainly a reason to celebrate.
The European Theatre Convention, or ETC, is now the largest pan-european organisation promoting the work of public European theatres.
To celebrate the anniversary, the ETC has organised a spring tour across eight cities in seven European countries starting at the State Theatre in the German city of Stuttgart.
Each city chose a theme illustrating the problems and challenges of today's public theatre institutions.
In Stuttgart it was about its social role, and particularly how to attract a young audience.
Enthusing young people about the theatre is as difficult today as it was 100 years ago. says Artistic Director Hasko Weber. Maybe times were different but it was never taken for granted that young people wanted to sit in a closed room or space to watch a story told on a stage. This collective and democratic form of experience you always have to redefine and reinvent.
On board for the tour are theatre professionals, journalists and artists who are involved in the theatre business to discuss and exchange their experiences.
In the Belgian city of Liege the acting school Ecole Supérieur d'Acteurs Conservatiore explained new concepts about actor training and work with actors in a theatre ensemble.
Today the European Theatre Convention represents 40 member theatres in more than 20 countries with the aim of increasing the impact of public theatres in European cultural policy discourses and to promote contemporary theatre creations.
In the south western German city of Karlsruhe the theme was about the artistic approaches and strategies for children and youth theatres.
Todays its important to educate children that theatre is more than just entertainment is also a platform for social-political contention.
Jan Linders, the director of drama at the theatre explains: Today's theatre is still able and always will be capable of a collective perception of socially-relevant questions - not necessarily to answer them but to highlight those questions. Theatre is also able to integrate any new media, that is what is wonderful about it - I don't think theatre will die out somehow just because of new media.
Next stop was the Swiss city of Zürich to see Cat on a Hot Tin Roof by Tennessee Williams - an example of how to integrate new media like video on stage.
In most public theatres the majority of the audience is Third generation. A new and younger audience needs to be attracted.
Dubravka Vrgo, the President of the European Theatre Convention, thinks it boils down to money.
Because of the financial cutbacks, there is no place for young artists, for young actors, for the young directors in Europe and I think this is one of the biggest roles of the European Theatre Convention to care about the young artists, about the young theatre directors to make a Europe possible for them. With them we will find a new audience.
The tour also crossed the Alps to Prato in Italy for the play The Belle Vue (Mit schöner Aussicht) by the Austrian-Hungarian writer Ödön von Horvart.
Ödön von Horvat, who died 1938, warned of the upcoming fascism and racism in Germany. The stop in Prato was dedicated to the theme Theatre and the decadence of Europe.
Italian stage director Paolo Magelli has already worked all over the world. I deeply believe that theatre is the place for dreams, he said, a free space, a place of freedom where utopia is possible, we must show people that the mind should be free.
To travel across Europe and discuss with professionals about today's theatre, attend plays in seven different countries - this theatre spring tour is the dream of every theatre lover said correspondent Wolfgang Spindler from Prato in Italy on his way to Zagreb for euronews.

Celebrity Couples Where The Woman Is TALLER!
Top celebrity couples where the girl is taller! These are the celebs and couples and female celebrities who are taller than their boyfriends!
8. Jason Statham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley - This England-born couple is unstoppable when it comes to acting, and their good-looks get them both a great deal of attention. Jason Statham is a former swimmer and dancer, but now he’s known for his acting career. His breakthrough role was in the comedy, crime film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. He went on to star in much more popular movies, like Crank and Furious 7. The characters he plays are generally tough-guy villains, and he even won the award for Most Offensive Male Character from the Women Film Critics in 2006. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is a model and actress, who started her career by appearing in a commercial for Levi’s jeans. She then worked for Teen Vogue and British Vogue, respectively, and eventually became a Victoria’s Secret Angel. She took some acting jobs as well in films like Mad Max: Fury Road and Transformers: Dark of the Moon, which gained her more recognition. Jason and Rosie started dating in 2010 and went to Coachella together that year. They became engaged in 2016 and had their son, Jack, a year and a half later. Although the two have similar careers and share the same country of origin, they don’t have the same height. Rosie is an inch taller than Statham at 5’10”, but their difference in stature hasn’t had any adverse effect on their partnership.
7. Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz - These two got together in 2014, quickly became engaged, and married in 2015. Benji Madden is a guitarist, singer, and producer who is most widely known for his part in the band Good Charlotte. The group has several albums, including The Young and the Hopeless and Youth Authority. Cameron Diaz is an actress recognized for starring in films like There’s Something About Mary, Vanilla Sky, and Charlie’s Angels. She has taken home several awards for her work, such as a 1998 ALMA Award and a 2015 EDA Special Mention Award, but is now retired. Benji and Cameron have a lot in common, and she’s even said he had a positive and lasting effect on her life. However, the two differ in height. Cameron Diaz is three inches taller than her husband at 5’9”, but their contrasting statures haven’t caused any issues for the happily married couple.

THE LOVELIES - Key West Motion Pictures
Using an iPhone, a clip-on lense and microphone from Amazon.com, and a light from Home Depot, one-time short film producer and director Jon Cannell collaborated with a team of actors and volunteer crew over the weekend of August 29 to create short film “THE LOVELIES”. The film was shot on Olivia Street in Key West, and has been entered in the third annual Tropic Cinema 72 Hour Film Challenge. The five minute ten second comedic black and white piece was written, shot and edited in 72 hours, in the “Film Noir” genre. It will be shown September 9 and 10, 2015 at Tropic Cinema in Key West, along with films from almost twenty other local film making teams.
“THE LOVELIES” stars Key West actors George Gugleotti, Christina Cannell, Ronnie Carruthers, Rock Solomon
George Gugleotti has been involved with the theatre in Key West since 1979 when he was cast by Tennessee Williams to play the French Instructor in Will Mr. Merriwether Return From Memphis?, the play that opened the Tennessee Williams Fine Arts Center; as the Boy in American Buffalo, for the Red Barn’s inaugural season and as Vito in P.S. Your Cat Is Dead at the Waterfront. Before coming to Key West, George appeared on Broadway, Off-Broadway, a national tour of You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown and countless Off-Off Broadway shows. George is a past President of the Key West Players, Inc. at the Waterfront Playhouse. He has acted on most of the stages in Key West and directed over a dozen plays and musicals at the Waterfront Playhouse. He is also a recipient of the Key West Players’ Florence Recher Award. In 2010, he had the pleasure of returning to the boards as Juror #9 in Twelve Angry Men.
Ronnie Curruthers is a performing singer-songwriter who has entertains nightly at Chicago’s on Greene Street in Key West. Ronnie recently released a recording of his original song “Greet The Day” on Zen Records. He is also a fine artist; his paintings can be seen at the Gallery on Greene in Key West.
Christina Cannell is an amateur stage actor and photographer, as well as a business owner. She was a member Charlotte Players in Port Charlotte, Florida where she played the lead role of Elizabeth in mystery-comedy Catch Me If You Can by by Robert Thomas.
Rock Solomon was first introduced to big band music at age 10, when he began helping his father, a Jazz Hall-of-Fame inductee, set up for 22 piece jazz big-band performances at various venues in Washington state. Solomon’s father began playing jazz at the height of the big band era in 1942, and has since performed with countless jazz greats, including Sammy Davis Jr., Billy Holiday, Ray Charles, Quincy Jones, and Nelson Riddle.
Rock Solomon is a Key West entertainer who studied music directly under his father, a Jazz Hall-of-Fame inductee. Rock acquired a unique perspective and intimate understanding of the jazz big-band genre under the tutelage of his father. As a band leader, musician and vocalist, he gained the rare ability to preserve the musical integrity of the Great American Songbook, while simultaneously bringing refreshing interpretations of the music to new audiences. Now Solomon carries the torch and tradition of his family, emerging as a young crooner with an old soul and unique authenticity.
All local Key West actors, filmmakers, and general creative-types were invited to participate in the third annual 72-Hour Film Challenge, to be held during the weekend of August 28th, 2015. Filmmaking teams had 72 hours to write, shoot, and edit a complete short film of seven minutes or less in length.
