Popular travel guidebook Lonely Planet has included Mustang among the top three regions to travel in 2013.
Earlier, Lonely Plant had featured Nepal as one of the top ten Best Value Destinations for 2013.
It is a last chance to see this ´forbidden kingdom´ as the completion of a road connection Mustang to China in the north and the rest of Nepal to the south will make all the difference to this remote region, Lonely Planet states.
In Best Value Destinations 2013, Lonely Plant had earlier said that with number of visitors steadily rising, Nepal remains a tremendous option for budget travelers. It had said that travelers in Nepal can live on the price of a Starbucks latte or two.
Despite being the cheapest destination, the travel guidebook acknowledged that Nepal is the best-value spot for Himalayan hiking and is definitely a contender for offering the most astonishing rewards for the least upfront investment of anywhere in the world.
As Lonely Planet serves as the most referred travel guidebook by tourists worldwide, inclusion of Nepal in two of its popular categories is expected to carve a distinct impact in the country´s tourism industry.Trek is another challenging destination saribung peak, beaten track and difficult pass (6346m) which has three ascents and the last one was made by our reconnaissance team in 2006. MIRA - Nepali Version
This is the full version in Nepali of the award winning film: MIRA
Released online: March 14th 2017. This Nepali version is available to view for free here only. Please do not download, copy or reproduce this film in part or whole in any form.
Please understand that we are only making a low resolution version available here as we are screening this film in full HD quality around Nepal via mobile cinemas. It is unfortunate but we have already experienced a good deal of unauthorised copying & downloading of the MIRA trailer & other clips from this film that were made available online since release. We do hope viewers here understand the dilemma we face & if you want to watch the HD version of MIRA then you can view this here: Please note that the HD version is not free & there is a charge with all rental sales going directly towards funding the screening of 'Mira' around Nepal and to empower and encourage Nepalese girls to participate in sports. Read more about the film funding here: miraraifilm.com/film-funding/ .
This film was made for a target audience in Nepal & so considering all factors [piracy, Nepal's bandwidth/connection speeds & that we expect most people in Nepal to watch on a mobile phone] then we decided to go with this resolution. If you are Nepalese living overseas & have a good proficiency of English then please support this work in Nepal by renting the English HD version.
'Mira' follows the journey of a spirited Nepali village girl on her pursuit to being a world-recognised mountain runner. Growing up in a remote mountain village in Nepal, Mira always dreamed of being successful in sport despite all the challenges that she & other Nepali girls face. After running away from home, Mira joined the Maoist army until as a young adult, she travelled the long distance to Kathmandu to try her luck. Out of money, she was about to return home to her village, when by chance on a morning run, she meets another runner who tells her about a long running race in the local hills. She wins it and soon begins to realise her tough mountain village upbringing has prepared her perfectly for this sport.
This inspirational story, filmed across Nepal, Hong Kong, Australia, Spain, Italy & France tells the story of Mira’s journey in the face of adversity to compete against the world's best mountain runners.

HIMALAYA EXPERIENCE-WATCHING EVEREST- CHANDRAGIRI HILLS KATHMANDU-2551M HIGH MUST VISIT!
Hey guys!
Continuing our zeal to see every inch of Kathmandu, we stumbled upon this beautiful place- CHANDRAGIRI HILLS.
The unparalleled beauty of the mountains of Nepal is coupled with pleasant weather and a lingering feeling of peace and harmony.
This is the closest place to Kathmandu from where Mount Everest and other important mountains can be seen.
Located at a height of 2551m, you can feel the mercury drop drastically as you reach up by the smooth service of ropeways of Nepal tourism.
The most amazing thing about Chandragiri is its connection to Hindi literature. The respected poet Baba Nagarjun wrote a famous poem here which won him the Sahitya Akademi Award.
A must visit when in Kathmandu, Chandragiri is maintained by a private firm and they are doing their job well.
A must visit when in Kathmandu, Chandragiri tops the list of places to visit in Nepal when you don't want to hike but want to see all the mountains.
until next time,
Adios!

Top 10 Most AMAZING Facts about Nepal!
Top 10 Most AMAZING Facts about Nepal! Nepal is one of those countries everybody’s heard of, but no one knows enough about. Even its very name sounds exotic, and people like hearing about it, but how much do you actually know about this country? Here are 10 amazing facts about Nepal…stay tuned to number 1 to find out

Number 10: A Unique Flag.
Nepal is an amazing country, in so many ways, but we’ll kick off our list with the flag of Nepal. Now, technically speaking EVERY country’s flag is unique, however, Nepal wins the uniqueness award because of its shape – it’s the only non-quadrilateral flag in the world. It’s basically like two joint triangles, with the bottom triangle having its top cut off.
The flag of Nepal was accepted on December 16, 1962, and to this day – it has remained one of the most recognizable symbols of this country. And just like most of the national flags around the world – this is also full of symbolism. The blue color on the border symbolizes national unity of the country, while the crimson red stands for the courage of the Nepalese people in general. The sun and the moon are there to symbolize bravery and peacefulness – these two are also there to say how Nepal will exist as long as the sun and the moon exist.
Number 9: Electricity Outages.
Although electricity should be a normal commodity at the start of the 21st century, the situation is a bit different in Nepal. In this country, it’s quite normal to have electrical outages on a daily basis. The irony is that Nepal holds second place as the world’s biggest water reserve – but it still has problems with producing electricity.
The biggest problem is the country’s poor infrastructure. Nepal hasn’t been able to develop itself enough so that it has good and reliable infrastructure; thus, it’s normal to have electricity for 10-12 hours a day, and then to be cut off for hours on end. The country’s population is quite large – around 2 million people, and the existing infrastructure simply cannot sustain that many people for the time being. This fact alone is the primary reason behind Nepal’s slow development.
If you don’t have good infrastructure and a steady supply of electricity, it’s impossible to plan ahead. Because of this, the country’s economy develops very slowly, and their factories cannot compete with the western world.
Number 7: “Slower” Internet.
Nepal is a part of the modern world in the sense that it has internet connection, but let’s be honest – it could be a better. A lot better. Internet was introduced to Nepal back in 1994, but its development has been quite slow. For example, commercial internet packages are decently fast or, we’ll say, acceptable. But the bigger problem is with domestic or personal packages. Also, the internet speed depends a lot on the actual price you pay on a monthly basis.
But it doesn’t only have to do with the speed. Another problem is the percentage of the people using the internet. According to research completed in 2010 research, only around 20 percent of Nepal’s population uses the internet, which is way below the western average. Nevertheless, the situation has been improving gradually over the years, and more and more internet providers are entering the game.
Number 6: Languages of Nepal.
When it comes to languages, Nepal really has a lot to offer. Many people don’t know this, but Nepal has more than 100 local languages! In fact, the exact number is – 123. However, not all of these languages are official languages of the country. It would be absolutely crazy if that were the case. The official language of Nepal is Nepali, which was known in the past as Khaskura and Gorkhali. This language is actually a descendant of the ancient Sanskrit language, and it now serves basically as the lingua franca of the whole region of Nepal. It’s spoken by around 17 million people. The second largest language in Nepal is Maithili, and it’s also one of the largest languages spoken in India. In Nepal, around 10 percent people speak Maithili.
But this is just the tip of the iceberg. We also have to mention Bhojpuri, Tharu and Tamang – all of which have over one million speakers, but also Bajjika, Magar, Dotyali and Urdu – with over half a million speakers. If we add to these over one hundred “smaller” languages, it’s clear how Nepal is considered a linguistic gem of the world.
Number 5: The Only Living Goddess –Kumari
The word “Kumari” comes from the Sanskrit language, and it can be translated as “princess”. In Nepal, Kumari is a pre-pubescent female, who is selected from a specific group – the Newari community in the Shakya castle. This is the tradition of worshipping of divine female energy resting in the girl’s body.

Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a vlogging travel couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world.
Our most recent trip was to South Korea where I embarked upon a two-week adventure without Audrey. Invited as part of a YouTube vlogging trip, organized by KTO, I spent the first week traveling with other YouTubers in Seoul, Busan and Gyeongju. My second week included independent exploration of Korea with my good friend and fellow YouTuber David of DavidsBeenHere.
Having lived and traveled in South Korea, the chance to return to one of my favorite countries was one of the biggest surprises of 2019. On this particular trip, I had an opportunity to do many things I had not previously covered including a visit to the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone between South Korea and North Korea), a Buddhist Temple Stay and a Korean cooking class. It was almost as if the program designed by KTO knew exactly what I had missed out on before.
Obviously, a huge highlight from the two weeks I spent revisiting Korea was the food. I feasted on all of my favorite Korean dishes including Korean barbecue, dolsot bibimbap, haemul pajeon, tteokbokki, bulgogi, kimbap and many others. I can honestly say that Korean food is world-class and is one of my top 5 favorite cuisines in the world. Aside from trying familiar dishes, I had the opportunity to sample raw Korean seafood for the first time.
While visiting Seoul, highlights included going to Gyeongbokgung Palace, Namsan Seoul Tower, Jogyesa Temple and Hongdae. As one of the biggest cities in the world, I barely scratched the surface of things to do in Seoul.
Spending extended time in Busan was my favorite part about the trip with top highlights including a Korean temple stay, fresh fish markets and a Korean baseball game. It was from Busan that we ended up taking a day-trip to Daegu where we enjoyed a traditional Korean market and tried Galbi-Jjim for the first time.
If you want to see more videos from Korea in the future, let us know in the comments what places you'd like us to travel to and what food experiences you'd like to see on this travel channel.

Magische Momente (Magical Moments) - Eine Pilgerreise zum Kailash (A Pilgrimage To Mt. Kailash)
(English translation below)
Since a long time many Tibetans, Hindus, Jainas and more and more westerners are going on a pilgrimage to Mt. Kailash to experience a spiritual rebirth.
This film presents my four week trip via Nepal's wild west and remote areas in western Tibet in july 2003 with five fellow pilgrims and our Nepalese crew.
We are starting on foot from Simikot to the Tibetan border through Himalayan mountains along the Karnali river.
After visiting the ancient kingdom of Guge, the highlight of our trip is the three day circumnambulation of Mt. Kailash reaching up to 5600m.
Finally our Jeeps take us back to Kathmandu and we see the colorful activities of Hindus and Buddhists.
Our tour leader cum Driver - Anand Sinha
Born in a small city in India, Anand always had an intimate connection with animals and nature. The city zoo was the first place where he got to discover his passion for wilderness. He grew up visiting it on off days, learning birds and reptiles in its gardens. At the age of 14 after travelling alone for the first time to a tiger reserve, he never looked back. He finished school and moved on to Western India travelling in search of rare mammals like striped hyaenas and wolves (lesser animals being his passion).
When he was 18, he moved to South Africa and received formal training in Nature guiding and game ranging through Field Guides Association of Southern Africa. After finishing training he was placed with a small company in Kwazulu Natal where he led/participated in tours covering South Africa, Mozambique & Swaziland. Later he worked as a game ranger in a private Big 5 Game reserve where he was responsible for day to day management of the reserve and hosting national and international guests.
He developed a deep interest in wildlife filming & photography and today aims to turn this interest into full time passion.
Finally after spending almost 3 years in Africa, India was calling back. He came back home and together with his naturalist friend Deepti (who shares most of his passions) started Prayaan India Overland, first authentic Indian overland company which is now known as Overland Expeditions India. Today he is a passionate traveler, motorcylist and is always keen to venture into the unknown.
His qualification include - Level 1 nature guide, Level 1 marine guide, Trails guide (theory), open water scuba diver and also holds a valid Wilderness First Aid training certificate.
