Raleigh is the capital city of North Carolina. It’s known for its universities, including North Carolina State University. The number of technology and scholarly institutions around Raleigh, Chapel Hill and Durham make the area known as the Research Triangle. The North Carolina State Capitol is a 19th-century Greek Revival–style building with a statue of George Washington dressed as a Roman general in its rotunda.
Raleigh Neighborhoods such as :

The downtown area is home to historic buildings such as the Sir Walter Raleigh Hotel built in the early 20th century, the restored City Market, the Fayetteville Street downtown business district, which includes the PNC Plaza and Wells Fargo Capitol Center buildings, as well as the North Carolina Museum of History, North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, North Carolina State Capitol, William Peace University, the City of Raleigh Museum, Raleigh Convention Center, Shaw University, Campbell University School of Law, and St. Augustine's College. In the 2000s, an effort by the Downtown Raleigh Alliance was made to separate this area of the city into five smaller districts: Fayetteville Street, Moore Square, Glenwood South, Warehouse (Raleigh), and Capital District (Raleigh). Some of the names have become common place among locals such as the Warehouse, Fayetteville Street, and Glenwood South Districts.
The Inside the Beltline neighborhoods include Cameron Park, Boylan Heights, Country Club Hills, Coley Forest, Five Points, Budleigh, Glenwood-Brooklyn, Hayes Barton Historic District, Moore Square, Mordecai, Rosengarten Park, Belvidere Park, Woodcrest, Oberlin Village, and Historic Oakwood. Inside the Beltline refers to I-440 which used to be called the Beltline before being re-branded to ease driver navigation. These neighborhoods were typically built before World War II.
Midtown Raleigh is a residential and commercial area just North of the I-440 Beltline and is part of North Raleigh. It is roughly framed by Glenwood/Creedmoor Road to the West, Wake Forest Road to the East, and Millbrook Road to the North. It includes shopping centers such as North Hills and Crabtree Valley Mall. It also includes North Hills Park and part of the Raleigh Greenway System. The term was coined by the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, developer John Kane and planning director Mitchell Silver. The News & Observer newspaper started using the term for marketing purposes only. The Midtown Raleigh Alliance was founded on July 25, 2011 as a way for community leaders to promote the area.
Southeast Raleigh is bounded by downtown on the west, Garner on the southwest, and rural Wake County to the southeast. The area includes areas along Rock Quarry Road, Poole Road, and New Bern Avenue. Primary neighborhoods include Chastain, Chavis Heights, Raleigh Country Club, Southgate, Kingwood Forest, Rochester Heights, Emerald Village and Biltmore Hills. Coastal Credit Union Music Park (formerly Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion, Alltel Pavilion and Walnut Creek Amphitheatre) is one of the region's major outdoor concert venues and is located on Rock Quarry Road. Shaw University is located in this part of the city.

RALEIGH BUS - PATIENTLY WAITING FOR A HORSE CARRIAGE
Spring Time Raleigh North Carolina - North Carolina is Beautiful
I was extremely fortunate to be able to explore beautiful Raleigh North Carolina this Spring 2016. In short I love North Carolina!
North Carolina is full of beautiful sites, incredible nature, amazing food and incredible kind and accommodating people. After a short few days I started having thoughts of moving there, seriously. I loved all the greenery and the fresh air surrounding a wonderful downtown scene. One evening as I walked around there was series of bands playing in the open air to an unpaid audience. Every evening was cool and inviting.
Go North Carolina!

Crabtree Valley Mall on a Snow Day Raleigh NC Christmas Shopping
Crabtree Valley Mall opened in August 1972 at the intersection of US 70/NC 50 (Glenwood Avenue) and the I-440 Beltline. Original anchors were Hudson Belk, Sears, Miller & Rhoads and Thalhimer's.
From the start, the mall pulled shoppers from all over central and eastern North Carolina. Many of them came to the 251,000-square-foot (23,300 m2) Hudson Belk, which is still the largest store in the complex and serves as a Belk flagship. The mall was remodeled in the mid-1980s and added many specialty stores and a food court. It faced remarkably little competition in its market until the 1990s, when Cary Towne Center in nearby Cary doubled in size and spawned a companion mall, Crossroads Plaza.
To combat the threat of an expanded Cary Towne Center stealing business, Crabtree embarked on a major expansion starting in 1993. G.C. Murphy, Miller & Rhoads, and Piccadilly all closed down during this period. Thalhimer's converted to Hecht's, and began planning for a new, larger location at the mall. In 1993 a 40 by 110-foot (34 m) section of the parking deck collapsed just three months after it had been completely rebuilt.[2] Sears closed its Crabtree store in 1994 and opened a new location adjacent to it in August 1994. The old Sears became small shop space and connected to a new, larger Hecht's which opened in August 1995.
Hecht's was replaced by Macy's in September 2006 as part of Federated Department Stores, Inc. absorbing The May Department Stores Company brands which also includes Hecht's after acquiring the company in 2005.
On August 22, 2018, Sears announced that its store would be closing as part of a plan to close 46 stores nationwide. The store closed on November 25, 2018.[3] This left the mall with two remaining anchors Belk and Macy’s.
In 2019, CVM Holdings announced to redevelop the former Sears space into a JCPenney.

ISS Maconaquah School Reception in Raleigh, NC
My reception of the International Space Station (ISS) contact with Maconaquah School Corporation in Bunker Hill, Indiana on August 27th, 2015, as received in Raleigh, North Carolina on top of a landfill park. The antenna I use is an Arrow II Satellite Antenna.

19. Do any of Newton's Laws of Motion not hold on the ISS?
20. What type of beverages do you drink in space, and do you use special containers?
Maconaquah School Corporation, Bunker Hill, IN, direct via WD9GIU. The ISS callsign was NA1SS. The astronaut was Kimiya Yui KG5BPH. Maconaquah had a very successful contact. All 20 questions were asked and there was one extra. They might have been able to have a few more but they signed off about 1 minute before LOS. It was an outstanding contact.
Maconaquah School Corporation has about 2,200 students in grades Pre-K through 12. We are a rural school located by Grissom Air Reserve Base in Bunker Hill, Indiana. (named for Gus Grissom) Our school is a model school for technology, academics, and STEM. (science, technology, engineering, and math) Each student has either an iPad or a laptop.
