Secrets of Manaslu trekking in Nepal - 2 (Circuit / Larke pass)
Manaslu trek in Nepal is definitely the one we should not miss. Of course, all those trekking in Nepal are good but this one tastes different for sure. I was really satisfied with the scenery, culture and struggle at high altitude too haha.
I trekked with five of my friends/clients from Canada and Australia to do Manaslu round trekking via Larke pass. I previously made video till samagaun so i have started this video directly from there. It was an amazing experience trekking with best people to Manaslu circuit trekking in Nepal. Trek in Nepal itself is an amazing thing and i was lucky to have best companion. Going through the Larke pass 5160 m is not a joke but beauty of it is incomparable which makes you to forget the pain and suffering.
Manaslu Circuit Trek : The majestic mountainsjust east of the Annapurnas are the mighty peaks of Manaslu Range . They take their name from the awe inspiring Mt Manaslu, the eighth highest mountain in the world, which dominates this landscape. Very few visitors trek in this recently opened trekking route but lately it is catching the eye of more and more trekkers. Mainly because the ever popular Annapurna Trek is becoming affected by road building that is causing trekkers to look for nearby alternatives. This makes a visit to the unique and unspoiled Manaslu region a must for all adventurous souls seeking unsurpassed natural beauty and a fascinating look at the remote local cultures of the region. The trek passes through the Manaslu Conservation Area at the village of Jagat and requires a special permit to enter.
The raging Budhi Gandaki Riveris ever present along the Manaslu Circuit Trek. Sometimes you are trekking close along the riverbank and sometimes you are gazing on its power from high on mountain side. The local Nepalese believe that the enticing sound of the swirling rapids is the river singing to those that come under its spell. The constant churning and thrusting of its mighty flow as it crashes into huge boulders creates mini waterfalls and rock pools that are beautiful to witness. The river is fed by countless waterfalls cascading down from high above. So high that sometimes you can’t fit the entre waterfall in your camera frame. But the higher you go the character of the river morphs into a bubbling mountain brook with moss covered branches straddling its course.
This area is marked by two cultural highlights: Gorkha, which is the ancestral seat of the reigning Shah dynasty and the temple of Manakamana Temple. This temple is dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Bhagwati and devotees believe if you make the pilgrimage to this holy site all your wishes will come true.
Since the treks in the Manaslu region originate at around 1000 meters and reach as high as 5200 meters, the trekker will see a wide range of flora and fauna typical of the middle hills and alpine regions of Nepal. The trees andplants to be seen along the trek are thousands of tall Himalayan pinetrees with a strangely hallucinating hue of green and the evercolorfulrhododendron when in bloom present an intoxicating colorfulbackdrop. Thewildlife are harder to see but if you are lucky include barking deer, pika and Himalayan marmots. The many kinds of birds are easier to spot are pheasant, raven and chough.
People of Tibetan origin tend to scratch out an existence in the villages in the upper part of the trek. Other people found along the trail are Gurung and Tamangs. All are very welcoming and seem to enjoy the influx of people from other parts of the world walking through their villages during the trekking season.
The best time to trek here is between September and May where the clear skies offer the best views. The months of June to August are the monsoon season and tend to be difficult because of the heavy rain and swollen rivers that often wash away many locally made footbridges. October and November are the peak times because of the clear skies and not so cold temperatures at high altitudes.
There are many teahouses along this trek that can be reached after a day’s walking from one to the other. Or you can choose the camping option depending on your fancy.Government regulations require all groups to the Manaslu Circuit to be fully self sufficient and accompanied by professional guides and porters.
The start of the trek is a jeep or bus ride from Kathmandu to the town of Arughat and from there to Soti Khola which is the end of the road and trekking begins in earnest.

In Nepal, going to remote corners of the Himalaya is not a problem for visitors. In fact, it is a pleasurable and exciting activity. How? By helicopter!. Since the whirlybird needs only a small landing space, it can be hired to take tourists to whichever destination and at whatever time they want to go. No wonder chartering a helicopter for sight-seeing has become a popular tourist activity in Nepal.
There are two types of helicopters currently operating in the private sector. The most frequently seen is the powerful Russian made MI-17. This is a big bird, capable of transporting 22 passengers or four tons of cargo. MI-17's can reach altitudes well in excess of 5.000 m and have been known to land at Everest Base Camp. They offer excellent utility and reliability under extreme conditions
The other craft is the smaller and more maneuverable French made Ecureuil AS35OB series. This sports car of the rotor world is smooth and quiet and offers excellent visibility. Wide bodied and comfortable, it can carry five passengers and the newest models can land at 6.100 m. They are thus ideal for Himalayan sight-seeing and intimate charters.
Chartering a helicopter is especially advantageous for those who do not have much time to spare but want to see and experience all the attractions that Nepal has to offer.
The helicopters can be used for pleasure as well as for practical purposes: from touristic enjoyment, trekking and mountaineering expeditions to technical and scientific works.

Departure from Tribhuvan International Airport at 07 hours for Lukla, proceed towards Everest to Everest glacier, Everest Ice Fall, Lhotse, South Col and Everest itself. On return leg, land at Thyangboche Monastery. Visit Monastery for 45 minutes and return to Kathmandu by 12 hours via Lukla.
Highlights of the flight :
Landing at Lukla is quite another experience. The airport, built by Sir Edmund Hillary in the by gone days, is hemmed in by hills and mountains. Lukla is Sherpa territory, yet it is crowded by trekkers in thousands, on their way to Everest country. Your mountain flight, describing the above peaks is in the major highlight of your sojourn, providing dimensional vision of the mountains whose nearness would be the prime attraction of this flight. The massive Everest hulk is the dominating feature here, surrounded by other mighty mountains in their own rights. Another landmark of this flight is landing at Thyangboche Monastery, the Vatican of the Sherpas, the world famous Tigers of the Snow.
The Monastery, rebuilt very recently, is a must for your visit. The serenity and peace of its neighborhood and surroundings will give you an impression of a harmonious blend of people and place. The fragility of the environment in its delicateness will not escape your attention. This is your flying visit to the neighborhood of Mount Everest, the tallest mountain in the world.

Gosainkunda: The Sacred Lake trek in Nepal | A Complete Trekking Details
Gosainkunda Trekking in Nepal : This video diary shows you that where trekkers sleep, what they eat, how the condition of the tea houses are and trekking trails and of course scenic beauty of the region. It also includes the interviews with Local and tourists.
Gosainkunda pass trekking is an amazing, short trek in the relatively quite area of the Langtang region. You will be amazed at how remote this area feels, seeing far fewer trekkers than other more populous areas such as the Annapurna or Everest regions. This trek is pure Himalayan magic and all just a day’s journey from Kathmandu.
The Gosainkunda pass trek takes in the stunningly beautiful holy lakes of the Gosiankund, which are considered holy by both Hindus and Buddhists alike. Many Hindus make the pilgrimage to bath in the lakes during the August full moon festival of Janai Purnima.
Heading over the Laurebinayak pass we then head down through steep terraced countryside to the Shivapuri National Park, just north of Kathmandu. The area is home to Tamang, Newari and Chhetri people and is a wonderful example of Nepal’s harmonious ethnic diversity.
In such a short space of time the Gosainkunda pass trek is a real gem, combining peaceful trails, majestic Himalayan scenery, a high pass, breathtakingly beautiful, pristine sacred lakes and a warm welcome from the famously hospitable local population. The Gosainkund pass trek allows you, the lucky trekker, to immerse yourself in this under rated trekking area and explore the exceptional beauty on offer !
