The African Heritage House
The African Heritage House overlooking the Nairobi National Park is described by the prestigious Architectural Digest as an architecture rising from the serene Kenyan plain like an outcropping of earth, a vision of usefulness informed by the African genius for decoration. Designed by American Alan Donovan, the house is a combination of the mud architectures from across Africa.

Kenya Foods defines African Heritage
This video “Kenya Foods Define African Heritage” was written, produced, directed, narrated by Anthony “Amp” Elmore a five time world Karate/Kickboxing Champion who 1st traveled to Kenya in 1990 to produced his Independent Memphis made film “The Contemporary Gladiator.” Elmore introduced Kickboxing to Kenya in 1994. Also in 1994 Elmore promoted a “Soul Music Concert” in Kenya.”
Elmore met Kenya President Daniel Arap Moi in 1992 and he took groups to Kenya for over a decade. In February of 2003 Elmore visited Kenya on a “Goodwill Mission.” Via the Kenya Goodwill Mission Elmore was successful in getting Kenya honored a 2nd time in the City of Memphis. A cultural hosted in Memphis each year called “Africa in April” thanks to Elmore the “Memphis Cultural Celebration” honored Kenya in their 2004 Celebration.
Kenya’s current secretary of Tourism Najib Balala was a special guest from Kenya who traveled to Memphis. While Kenya President Daniel Arap Moi named Elmore an African Ambassador in 1994 Elmore has devoted his life to bringing Africans and African/Americans together. Elmore explains that we African/Americans have a buying power of 1.2 trillion and we spend 50 Billion a year on travel. Elmore found it a challenge to bring this fact to his friend Kenya Secretary of tourism Najib Balala.
Elmore promotes and educate Americans regarding the historical relationship between Kenya and America. Elmore names one of Kenya’s Founding Father Tom Mboya as the most significant African in America’s history to influence American history and culture. Elmore’s Mboya’s videos attracted the attention of Kenyans living in America Aggrey Asava and Richard Kiptoo. The Kenyans convinced Elmore to return to Kenya and they would assist him in getting his plan called the “Safari Initiative” that can benefit not only Kenya but the “Safari Initiative” can benefit all of Africa.
Elmore explains that culture, history and family can translate into economic prowess. One example is the 2018 Black Hero movie “The Black Panther” that grossed over 1 Billion Dollars. Elmore explains that the history, culture and family relationships between Kenya and the African/American family can translate into economic growth for not only Kenya but for all of America.
Elmore and the Kenyans came to Kenya to ask Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta to honor African/Americans with a “Formal State Reception” in 2021 before he leaves office. Elmore met with Kenya Ambassador Tom Amolo who works in the Kenya ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ambassador Amolo explain to Elmore that Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta will embrace this idea.
Elmore in this video not only praise African food Elmore encourage Americans and the world to experience the “African Food.”

Find your African Heritage in Kenya by Anthony Amp Elmore
This video “Find your African Heritage in Kenya” was written, produced, directed, preformed and uploading by Anthony “Amp” Elmore. Elmore 1st traveled to Kenya in 1990 to premier his Memphis made Independent film “The Contemporary Gladiator.” Elmore found his African Heritage in Kenya and he reminds up that Comedian Richard Pryor visited Kenya in 1979 whereas Richard Pryor said people in Kenya have self-respect and pride. Pryor stopped using the “N” word.
Elmore in this video shows the “Spirit of Kenya” and finding African Heritage and roots is in the “spirit of African people” who treat you like family. Elmore traveled to Kenya to honor the legacy of Kenya’s Tom Mboya and Dr. Martin Luther King. Elmore’s aim was to ask Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta to honor African/Americans with a Formal State Reception.
Elmore in visiting Kenya was supported by two Kenyan living in America; Aggrey Asava and Richard Kiptoo. The three came to Kenya on a mission to support a vision developed by Elmore called the “Safari Initiative.” Safari is an acronym for “Styled African Family Application Renaissance Initiative.” The Kenyans assisted Elmore in navigating his way around Nairobi, Kenya whereas they assisted Elmore in finding a way to be heard.
Elmore met Lydia and Alfayo Afonze Agufana. Alfaya arranged a means for Elmore to meet Ambassador Tom Amolo who agreed to see Elmore without an appointment. Ambassador Amolo who works in the Kenya Ministry of Foreign Affairs not only welcomed Elmore he explained to Elmore that Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta would embrace the Safari Initiative.”
Elmore in this video captures the spirit of Kenya people and the way they show pride and dignity in their Country and African Heritage. Elmore produced this video to show a side of Africa that we African/Americans do not see of Africa. We in America only see negative stories of a primitive uncivilized Africa. Elmore in this video show Kenya to be a bustling cosmopolitan city with beautiful and educated people.
Elmore shows in this video President Barack Obama explaining about his 1st visit to Kenya and how he got something from being with family in Kenya that he could not get from a 5 star hotel.
President Obama explains the connectedness he found in Kenya. Elmore explains how in 2018 he connected with everyday Kenyans and he encourage African/Americans to make Kenya their 1st stop in seeking their African roots.

600 years of Chinese bloodline in Kenya
According to legends,a team of Chinese sailors survived a shipwreck in the Indian Ocean waters and settled in Lamu Island.
Historians contend the sailors were part of a fleet sent by the legendary Chinese navigator Zheng He.
Six centuries later, the descendants of these Chinese sailors are visible in Lamu where China's ancient Maritime Silk road terminates. In Siyu village, archeologists have discovered artifacts like porcelain and coins that were symbols of the Ming dynasty.
Mwamaka and her family are among the ones who are living testimony of the earliest contacts between Kenya and China.
It was in 2002 that a team of distinguished Kenyan and Chinese researchers carried a DNA analysis on Mwamaka's 63-year-old mother and discovered that she has Chinese genetics.
Soon afterwards, the Chinese government offered Mwamaka a scholarship to study Chinese traditional medicine in China.
Kenyan and Chinese archeologists have been tracing evidence of ancient contacts in the Kenyan coast .They hope to find the the shipwreck to help unearth all artifacts symbolizing ancient cultural and trade ties.

China-build SGR works out alternative routes to save Kenyan heritage house
70 year old Alan Donovan has been collecting original African Art, Ornaments and other pieces since the 1960's. He is the Co-author of the African heritage house located along the Athi Plains in the outskirts of Nairobi the Kenya capital.
However recently Donovan was faced with the biggest challenge as his house was almost brought down because it was on the route of the currently under construction Standard Gauge railway.
Although this was a stressing period he says, actually other Chinese contractors came and offered solutions for the route of the railway that wouldn't affect the house.
