Metzler Park in Estacada, OR
Metzler Park is a beautiful park set deep in the Clear Creek Canyon with 75 campsites to accommodate your tent or RV.
Walking along the Columbia River in Portland, Oregon
The little bit of land between the Portland Airport and the Columbia river has an amazing walking and bike path. This is a great place to watch the wildlife and boats on the river and planes landing while getting a great walk in.
This walk runs parallel to N. Marine Drive in Portland, Oregon. Broughton Beach is a great place to park to access this river walk.

What’s a better way to celebrate recovery than a trip through the woods on roads you’ve never seen? That’s actually a bit of a trick question, because I cannot imagine another way to do it. Plus, it gave me an actual goal to work towards.

60 Mile Portland Oregon bicycle loop (Specialized 2011 Roubaix Elite Apex)
This is a short video of my 60 mile bicycle loop I ride 3 times a week. The ride starts in Oregon City and follows the Willamette River thru Portland to the Columbia River. At this point I head east to Gresham then turn south to the Springwater Corridor. It's a great ride with many of the Portland cycling paths put into use. With all of these awesome paths and possible routes, one can see why Portland, Oregon is considered the bicycling capitol of the United States.
Cycling Oregon's McKenzie Pass 2016
For about a month (May-ish) in the Spring, the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) opens the McKenzie Pass highway in Central Oregon to bicycles only. We rode the pass from the Sisters, OR side all the way over to Hwy 126 and then back to Sisters. We rode this at the beginning of May and we hit it perfectly as the temps were ideal and snow still abundant A few weeks later the snow was gone. First stop is Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, a oasis in the heart of the city where nature is supreme.
Old Town, Chinatown is home to Lan Su Chinese Garden, another escape from the ordinary.
And finally we start the drive along the coast of Oregon from California heading North.

Bicycle theft in Portland Oregon
I was donating blood platelets March 6 2016 at the Red Cross center on N. Vancouver Blvd. when this person stole my bike. The bike is my means of transport to work and around town. If you have helpful info. please leave a comment.
