TRAVEL to AITUTAKI, Cook Islands - Welcome to Paradise (Vlog Part 2)
After an amazing few days hanging out in Rarotonga (check out our first episode) it was time to explore another part of the Cook Islands, and a spot that is known for having the most beautiful lagoon in the world, Aitutaki.
We jumped on an Aitutaki day tour from Rarotonga, flying across to the island and spending a few hours on a boat cruise, drinking coconuts, snorkelling with fish and wandering around One Foot Island, home to the bluest water we have ever seen.
For the last few days checking out the best things to do in the Cook Islands, we checked out the Highland Paradise Cultural Show, went snorkelling at Black Rock and tackled the legendary Raemaru Trek right before getting on our plane home.
Travelling to Cook Islands is a fantastic experience, and our trip was one of our favourites in recent years. We can't wait to return again one day.

Aitutaki, Cook Islands: An underwater playground.
Aitutaki is the the South Pacific's hidden gem. A lagoon so blue, vivid and clear, lined with coconut palms, it truly has to be seen to be believed! Enjoy my recount of my recent visit to Aitutaki and The Cook Islands! All footage has been captured by myself and Meaghan Smith on our recent island adventure (June 2015).
Whilst researching travel advice and tips for The Cook Islands, I found it difficult to find videos and footage on what best embodied The Cook Islands, and in particular, Aitutaki as a whole. I endeavoured to provide footage and travel vlogs/recounts of my trip so that others could enjoy and also benefit from it! Let me know if this video has helped you in anyway. A RAINY AITUTAKI LAGOON CRUISE | Vaka Cruise to One Foot Island Aitutaki, Cook Islands
It happens to be a rainy day in Aitutaki, Cook Islands, when I took the Aitutaki Lagoon Cruise to the famous One Food Island Aitutaki. Yes, even though the weather is not cooperating, I still had an excellent Cook Island Lagoon experience.
Not everyday you can say that you're in the Paradise. And even better, than you are in the rainy paradise!
Vaka Cruise is definitely one of the must thing to do in Aitutaki, Cook Islands. While the staff is friendly and helpful, the food is good, and the paradise is spectacular.
The highlight of the experience is the snorkeling in Cook Islands with some giant trevally and the giant clams.

Huge Fire at Aitutaki Lagoon Resort and Spa - Cook Islands
Large resort on Aitutaki ( Cook Islands) caught on fire with the loss of one of the restaurants and 3 of the villas. The Aitutaki Lagoon Resort and Spa is a very popular private island resort which we were staying at before the fire broke out. Being an island there was no way for the fire service to get their engine across to the resort with the tide in. Once a portable pump was on site they brought the fire under control saving many other villas.

This is The World's Most Beautiful Lagoon. This stunning lagoon is in The Cook Islands. It's known as the worlds most beautiful lagoon. Aitutaki means a little paradise in Cook Islands mauri. Hop on a small propeller plane with Air Rarotonga. A short 40 minute flight from the main island of Rarotonga. If you've ever wondered does paradise on earth exist, then you need to visit Aitutaki. Aitutaki is enclosed by a coral reef surrounding the 15 islands. The lagoon has every shade of blue possible. Pristine white beaches, lush green palm trees and gorgeous sandbanks. Aboard the 21 meter polynesian style double hulled canoe Titi-Ai-Tonga. Titi ai Tonga meaning “wind from the south” is a contemporary Vaka styled on the vessels of ancient Polynesian voyagers. Visit some of the beautiful small islands (motus) that dot the lagoon. Stop on legendary One Foot Island to dive into the crystal clear warm water. The island of Aitutaki was settled by the legendary Polynesian explorer Ru and his entourage from Raiatea in French Polynesia. Learn how to husk coconuts and dance like the islanders. They call one foot island the most picturesque of all the islands. The deep crystal clear lagoon is perfect for snorkelling. The sea life is spectacular . I arrive to start my journey in the South Pacific on a scenic Cook Islands flight: Rarotonga to Aitutaki, with Air Rarotonga!
Starting off in Rarotonga, the capital of Cook Islands, where I check out the famous Sunday church service on Cook Islands.
I then fly to Aitutaki Cook Islands with the controversial Sunday Air Rarotonga flight, where I get properly welcomed by his Airbnb host with a lei!
I really enjoyed this scenic flight in Cook Islands experience, especially that I had the opportunity to see the beautiful Aitutaki Lagoon from above.
Also, I loved getting lei'd!
