MISS RWANDA 2016 CONTESTANTS VISIT AKAGERA
Miss Rwanda2016 contestants on Monday toured Akagera National Park in the Eastern Province to explore the beauty of the park. Miss Rwanda2016 contestants were briefed on the complex mix of terrains, vegetation & animal life in the Park. They witnessed diversity of habitats, birds, lovely scenery and enjoyed a boat ride along the shores of Lake Ihema - great aquatic bird sightings. Some of the contestants observed that, The whole experience was super special, getting to see the animals in their natural habitat is something rare!

Akagera National Park is located in east provinces of Rwanda. Unlike the volcano national park that is so famous for its mountain gorillas, Akagera is another blessed heaven in Rwanda for varieties of wildlife. In the video, you will follow me and visit impalas, elephants, giraffes, loser buffaloes, and many other animals.
This is my first ever East African trip and I want to share the experience. Remember this is not zoo experience. What animals you can see mainly depends on your luck and of course the time you spent in the park. I was most amazed at the social behaviors among animals. The buffalo herd only allow one male but can have up to thirty females; the male members will be all kicked out unless one can win the battle with the only male in the herd. And it is so much fun to see all grass eating animals chill next to each other - zebras, impalas, giraffes, and buffaloes.
Fortunately, I also witnessed a male antelope was attempting to mate. More to come..please like the video and subscribe XD

Exploring Rwanda (East Africa)
In summer 2018 we organized a trip to Rwanda to explore the county learning the tradition, getting involved in the culture, sharing experiences with locals and helping them in what they may need.
When we came back home we realized they tought us more than what we tought them.

Kayonza Youth Friendly Center Court Construction
A highlight of Shooting Touch, Inc.'s court construction project in collaboration with the Kayonza Youth Friendly Center in the Eastern Province of Rwanda.
Shooting Touch is a 501 (c) (3) registered non-profit in the U.S., and is a registered non-governmental organization in Rwanda. We use the platform of basketball to improve the lives of youth in Boston and Rwanda by incorporating life skills lessons into our basketball trainings.
Since October 2012, Shooting Touch grantees have constructed 4 courts in Rwanda, renovated 5 others, trained over 20 coaches, held over 12 community events, formed over 15 teams, and have accumulated over 16,000 coach and participant hours.
We aim to improve the lives of youth in Rwanda by constructing basketball courts, holding community events, and training local coaches and youths in our curriculum of gender equality, health and fitness, disease prevention and education, the importance of education, and leadership skills.
