The Miraculous Tale of Titian’s Lost Masterpiece
Discover the astonishing story of a lost Titian masterpiece. Started in the mid-16th century, ‘Portrait of a Lady and her Daughter’ was unfinished when Titian died in 1576. According to several art historians, it may have been overpainted by one of his pupils because the original work was a portrait of Titian’s mistress and illicit daughter.
After remaining in Venice until 1850, where it would likely have been seen by Rubens and Van Dyck, the painting was acquired by Tsar Nicolas I of Russia. In 1920, it was acquired by Parisian art dealer René Gimpel, who sent his collection to safety in London when WW2 broke out and he joined the French Resistance. Gimpel’s son tracked his father’s collection down to a garage in Bayswater in 1946. Several adjacent buildings had been completely destroyed by bombs in the Blitz but, miraculously, Gimpel’s paintings survived. The Titian was subsequently acquired by Alec Cobbe as ‘Tobias and the Angel’ in the 1980s. Cobbe started the restoration of the painting in consultation with art historians and scientists in 1983. The process lasted about 20 years before the magnificent result was fully revealed.
Now, this unfinished window into the mind of a master will return to its home in Venice after almost 500 years. On loan from current owner and renowned collector Marnix Neerman, the Titian masterpiece will be a highlight of a new exhibition opening in September 2019. From 5 September 2019 until 1 March 2020, the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia (MUVE), in conjunction with the Rubenshuis in Antwerp, presents From Titian to Rubens – Masterpieces from Flemish Collections at Palazzo Ducale, Venice. The magnificent Doge’s private apartments will be transformed into veritable constkamers, rooms filled with around 80 paintings, drawings, engravings and examples of Venetian and Antwerp glass and instruments, on loan from the Antwerp City Museums, the KMSKA, MUVE, and the museums of Ghent, Bruges, Leuven and the MNHA Luxembourg. The exhibition will also present several important paintings and oil sketches by Rubens, and the moving Lamentation over the Dead Christ by Van Dyck. Sotheby's is a proud sponsor of this exhibition.

The case is given to ACP Jai Dixit and Ali helping them put the pieces of the puzzle together is ACP Shonali Bose (Bipasha Basu). For the last two years Shonali has been tracking these amazing thefts and is now an expert on this thief, who no one has seen.
Once in Mumbai Mr.A finds his match in Sunehri (Aishwarya Rai). A petty yet clever thief. She makes him an offer he finds very hard to refuse. A partnership Aryan accepts. And so the game begins.
The cops, Jai, Shonali and Ali and they are after Aryan and Sunehri - The Robbers.
From the desert of Namibia to the backwaters of Goa, the mean streets of Mumbai and the ancient forts of Rajasthan and finally to wild and exotic Rio Brazil. Does ACP Jai Dixit manage to nab Mr.A?

My second day in Chattanooga, Tennessee was a rainy one. I began the day at the Lookout Mountain Incline Railway, a funicular railway system over a hundred years old. The Incline's trolley-style cars climb through the natural beauty surrounding historic Lookout Mountain at a breathtaking 72.7% grade – straight up!
Next on my agenda was the Chattanooga Choo Choo. Named after one of the city’s first trains, the downtown Chattanooga landmark debuted in 1909 as a bustling rail center known as Terminal Station. Buttressed by huge arches made of expensive, 28-pound bricks, it featured a grand, gilded lobby with an 85-foot dome. Over the years, the station served as an introduction to Chattanooga for Woodrow Wilson, Franklin D. Roosevelt and other dignitaries. In 1970, a decade after auto and air travel began to eclipse the railways, Terminal Station closed, reopening a few years later as a hotel.
Lastly I make a photo stop at Ruby Falls before returning to my Best Western motel for the night.

Robots have always been a fun part of movies and television. Most people couldn't tell you what movie had the first ever robot in motion picture history. The answer is a 1918 silent film called The Master Mystery - which starred Harry Houdini (the famous magician and escape artist). The robot was called The Automaton. The suit used for the robot in that film is now held in Fantasma Magic Store in New York City, which also includes a Houdini Museum.
