Two wins in two matches at home... Not a bad way to start the season! Take another look at Saturday's win over Toronto FC II in Rowdies Front Row. Situated on the downtown St. Petersburg waterfront, the iconic Al Lang Stadium, capacity 7,227, has transformed over the past two seasons. Edwards took over management of the city-owned facility historically known for baseball spring training and invested millions of dollars turning it into a proper venue. Al Lang Stadium is managed and operated by Big3 Entertainment Group.

Gates open 90 minutes prior to kickoff for all Tampa Bay Rowdies home matches. Fans sitting in the Midfielder’s Club or Midfielder’s Reserved seating sections may enter the stadium through a dedicated gate on 1st St. SE, across from the Hilton, for their convenience. Fans with tickets for any other seating areas can enter the stadium through gates 2 or 3, adjacent to the Al Lang Stadium parking lots. Strollers are permitted, but must be parked in designated areas.

The Rowdies were the first professional sports franchise in the area and remain one of the most recognizable and well-loved brands in soccer. Originally established in 1975, the team won the NASL Soccer Bowl championship in its inaugural year and created a unique, entertaining and memorable franchise with the Fannies, Rowdies and unforgettable Kick in the Grass theme song. In 2008, a group of investors announced the purchase of rights to a professional soccer franchise and the newly established team began play in 2010. In 2012, the Rowdies won the NASL Soccer Bowl Championship after a thrilling shoot-out victory in front of a sold out crowd at Al Lang Stadium in downtown St. Petersburg.

On May 2, 2017, Tampa Bay took a step forward in its bid to join Major League Soccer when residents of St. Petersburg, FL voted overwhelmingly in favor of allowing the St. Pete government to negotiate with Tampa Bay Rowdies owner Bill Edwards on a lease extension vital to the team's plans to expand Al Lang Stadium should the region be awarded a slot in MLS' league expansion.
With the #MLS2StPete movement earning a major victory, many critics point to the failure of original MLS team Tampa Bay Mutiny (1996-2001) as a sign that Tampa Bay can't support a top-tier soccer team. This video analyzes the struggles the Mutiny faced and how the current Rowdies bid has turned those weaknesses into strengths.

The Tampa Bay Rowdies unveiled #MLS2StPete on Tuesday, December 6, a campaign to drive local support to show Major League Soccer (MLS) that the club is ready to be the next expansion team. The campaign also includes a privately funded renovation and expansion plan for Al Lang Stadium.

Highlights of Tampa Bay Rowdies vs. Minnesota United FC - 2013 NASL Spring Season - May 25, 2013
The Tampa Bay Rowdies lost 3-2 against Minnesota United FC on Saturday night at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, Fla. The Rowdies had erased an early Minnesota lead, but United FC was able to score two quick goals to make it 3-1 by the 26th minute. Forward Georgi Hristov, who had scored the initial Rowdies goal, cut the lead back to one in the 30th minute, but Tampa Bay was unable to score any second-half goals to tie things up.
