Alabama Fan Club & Museum
Here are a few clips taken from the Alabama Fan Club and Museum in Fort Payne, Alabama on July 18, 2009. The clips were taken outside of the building, inside the gift shop, and in the museum. The woman at the desk was so kind to us, she took the time to give us suggestions on what to see at the Little River Canyon Park (the canyon) and even gave us directions to see the houses of each of the members of the band Alabama.
Alabama (Music Group)
From 1979 to 2004, Country Music Hall of Famers Alabama were one of the most successful musical acts in the United States. Millions of fans were drawn to the group's songs about their southern roots and their love for Fort Payne, DeKalb County, the state of Alabama, and the South. Three cousins—rhythm guitarist Randy Owen, lead guitarist and fiddler Jeff Cook, and bassist Teddy Gentry—played together in high school, and after college in 1977 they became the band Wild Country. In 1979, they changed their name to Alabama and broke onto the national country music scene in the 1980 with the hit single My Home's In Alabama. They were at the top of the country music charts throughout the 80s and during their run had 42 number one singles on the country music charts, sold more than 73 million albums, and won more than 150 industry awards. Alabama won Grammies in 1983 for Mountain Music and in 1984 for The Closer You Get. The members have always shown their loyalty to the Fort Payne community, championing causes and hosting fundraisers. The Alabama Fan Club and Museum opened in Fort Payne in 1985.

Oakmulgee Ranger District | Talladega National Forest in Alabama, USA. A visit to the forest in 2019
Oakmulgee Ranger District | Talladega National Forest in Alabama, USA. A visit to the forest in 2019 using a DJI Osmo Pocket and a Samsung Galaxy S9
“The 157,000 acre Talladega National Forest, Oakmulgee District is located in the Fall Line Hills of the Eastern Gulf Coastal Plain Physiographic Region. Dissected by the Cahaba River, the Oakmulgee, and its bottomlands, generally run east to west, and to the south is the Black Belt Prairie region. The vegetation is similar to Upper Coastal Plains with steep slopes more reminiscent of the Appalachian Plateau.”
“The longleaf” {pine trees} “of the Oakmulgee represents Alabama’s largest contiguous longleaf forest. It is also among the most unique ecosystem as it is a remnant ecosystem cut off from any current similar land cover types for sharing flora and fauna species or their genetic and reproductive characteristics. Soil types, vegetation, topography, and historical land use patterns have created a mosaic of habitats often contradictory including hardwood species on slopes and pine species in mesic drainages.”

NS Action at Ft. Payne. 12-30-09
Another goodie from the NS AGS North Sub at Ft. Payne Alabama. Also from 12-30-09. Also got some good shots of the historic depot there.
This was the 3rd train caught within 20 min. This is very unusualy busy traffic for this line. This is also the 2nd train with offline EMDs in the consist. Not sure what was up with the anti EMD stuff on this day. Here, only the 1st and 4th locos are online and they both were GE. Another video I have up has another 4 engine consist (with one of only three aerodynamic GP59s), but only the 1st two locos (both GE) were online with the trailing EMDs silent there too..
Power:
