TRAVEL EGYPT 2018 | IS ALEXANDRIA WORTH A DAY TRIP ? مصر
Travelling to Egypt in 2018, we were not sure if it was worth it to take a day trip to Alexandria from Cairo. We started our 3 hour journey from Cairo to Alexandria with our guide and driver. We arrived at Amud El-Sawari. We explored a street called Fornica from which the word fornication was derived. We visited three mosques including Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque that are conveniently together. After we fed our bellies trying the Egyptian food mezza and then finished with...The library of Alexandria which holds so much of the world's history. If you wonder where is one of the seven wonders of the World, the famous lighthouse of Alexandria we don't see much of it anymore just the traces of the past...

About me:
My name is Eivind, I am a thirty six year old Norwegian guy living in Oslo, Norway. I am quite new to the YouTuber travel vlog sphere, but hope that you find my videos cool, and as time pass by I hope you see my content getting better and better. My goal is trying to enlighten and brighten your day by giving you interesting videos about traveling, meeting people and eating food from all different kinds of cuisines. Another thing that I want is to break down barriers of travel and prejudices of foreign countries and cultures. My opinion is that most people and cultures are friendly, but unfortunately sometimes media gives a biased view.
Usually my travels goes to places that are a bit out of the beaten track, like smaller cities or just less known cities, where I explore the neighborhoods or head into the nature. If possible, I`ll bring my drone also, but this has become more difficult in recent years due to strict regulations. I will also try to make some videos about my home country Norway, one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
On my travels I like to connect with the local people. Usually I do this via Couchsurfing, either just by meeting up with people to explore together or by actually staying at their place. I also wander aimlessly around in places talking to random people.
I do host a lot of people in my place in Oslo, maybe someday it will be you.
One of my biggest passion in life is food. And when cooking and eating together with nice people it`s the best. I make some videos together with some of my guests, these are really fun to make and I also learn to make new dishes. Maybe you can come cook with me?
Another thing I try to is enlighten people about the environment, especially the plastic problem we have all over the world. In almost every country I go to there is garbage all over. I film it and put it in some videos here and there. As a tip for you, try to pick up one piece of plastic everyday, and of course, never throw any in the first place.

We are still alive. After an Egyptian Air flight to Aswan, we traveled to Aswan High Dam then took a motorboat to Philae to tour a temple that had been moved from harms way.
Egypt 2013 with Alex City Travel Day 10
Our final day in Egypt was led by Mona Mokhtar who escorted us from Alexandria to a castle in Rashid where the Rosetta stone was found. From there we are taken to the mouth of the Nile, then to the ancient Amasyali House and About Shahin Mill before a late lunch in Alexandria. Lastly, we take a sunset bus ride back to Cairo and visit a papyrus factory as we bid a final farewell to Egypt.
Travel To EGYPT ALEXANDRIA
We are specialized in all kinds of Holidays around Egypt such as: Cheap Tours Egypt, Group Tours to Egypt, Classical Egypt Tour, Egypt Family Tours, Cheap Nile Cruise, Adventure Tour Egypt, Pyramid Tour Egypt, Egypt Train Reservation, White Desert Tours, Alexandria (El-Iskandariya in Arabic) turns its back on the rest of Egypt and faces the Mediterranean, as if contemplating its glorious past. One of the great cities of antiquity, Alex slumbered for 1300 years until it was revived by Mohammed Ali and transformed by Europeans, who gave the city its present shape and made it synonymous with cosmopolitanism and decadence. This era came to an end in the 1950s with the mass flight of non-Egyptians and a short-lived dose of revolutionary puritanism, but Alexandria's beaches, restaurants and breezy climate still attract hordes of Cairenes during the summer, while its jaded historical and literary mystique remains appealing to foreigners.
Alex encourages nostalgia trips and random exploration, if only because the sights are limited and chance incidents often more revealing. Don't be afraid of following your nose and deviating from the usual itineraries, which could be completed in a day or so if you focus on the city's monumental highlights. The Roman Theatre and Villa of Birds at Kom el-Dikka and the spooky Catacombs of Kom es-Shoqafa are musts, as is the city's magnificent new library and Alexandria National Museum, exhibiting statues and other artefacts dredged from ancient cities on the seabed. If you also want to savour the ambience and literary mystique of the former European and native quarters, allow two or three days.
Egypt 2013 with Alex City Travel Day 3
After an early breakfast at Mena House, we set off for the great ancient Pyramids of Giza for a close up view and our greatly anticipated camel ride. Having survived, we visited King Cheop's cruising boat, the Sphinx and then off to Memphis and Sakkara along the Nile.

ALEXANDRIA - Pearl of the Mediterranean - a Port City in Egypt
This video is based on our tour of Egypt during October, 2016. Alexandria in Egypt, is a Mediterranean port city and known as The Pearl of the Mediterranean. It was established by Alexander the Great in 332 BC. Alexandria was the second most powerful city of the ancient world after Rome. At one time the city boasted of a Lighthouse and a Library - both ranked among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Today, in place of the Lighthouse is a 15th century Citadel and the Library is reincarnated in an ultramodern Bibliotheca Alexandria. The city also has several Greco-Roman era landmarks, old-world cafes and seaside promenades.
Egypt 2013 with Alex City Travel Day 5
After waking before dawn and leaving the MS Amarco I, we join a government convoy and travel by bus to Abu Simbel, perhaps one of the greatest temples in all of Egypt.
