While on a tour with Robin to the Graveyard to hear the story of Alice Flagg we stopped at the tomb of Joshua John Ward who died on February 27, 1853 at the age of 52 years 3 months 3 days.
This activity was when she read the saying engraved on the side of his tomb. At first I thought it must have been something on my camera lens but I did not notice the activity while filming. Or could it be from the sun reflecting off her white sweater or could it really be his spirit in the All Saints Church graveyard or that of Alice Flagg? What do you think?

More than 150 years ago, the legend of Alice Flagg of the Hermitage began. This young lady from the banks of the inlet in Georgetown County has touched the lives of many, including the Chandler boys – who grew up sleeping in Alice’s room. Variations to the history are plentiful, but there is evidence to prove…she did exist.
South Carolina author and ghost tour guide, Elizabeth Robertson Huntsinger, takes SCETV viewers on a journey to the 1840s for a love story; and brings the folklore alive through research-driven storytelling and beautiful imagery.
Jacquie Champion, a graduate of Dreher High School in Columbia, tells us about her first-hand encounter with Alice in All Saints Cemetery during the 1960s. And, watch Myrtle Beach residents attempt the ritual said to evoke Alice’s apparition.
Plus, meet the Chandlers. Their grandfather, Clarke Willcox, Sr., purchased the Hermitage about ten years after the Flaggs moved away. The home still belongs to their family and it’s listed as part of the ‘Murrells Inlet Historic District’ on the National Register of Historic Places.
To this day, Joe still gets goosebumps from time to time when he goes up into Alice’s room at the Hermitage. And, Bill insists that Joe and Ann painted the ceiling on the front porch “Haint Blue,” to superstitiously ward off ghosts.
The Hermitage is now a private residence. However, if you’re looking for a chance to encounter Alice, your best chances are at All Saints Cemetery in Pawleys Island, and along the banks of the marsh in Murrells Inlet, where the original Wachesaw Plantation once existed.

Celebrating Halloween, Michael, traveled to both the Old Charleston Jail and a cemetery located on Pawley's Island. Why? You might ask. In order to visit spooky locations said to be haunted.
The Old Charleston Jail - Located on Magazine Street in Charleston, SC sits the Old Charleston Jail. Built in 1802 and operated until 1939 this old abandoned jail is said to be haunted by many malevolent spirits. One that has even earned the reputation as being the first female serial killer. Her name is Lavinia Fisher. As legend has it Fisher would lure unassuming guest with wealth to her home known as the Six Mile Wayfarer; drugging them before eventually murdering them.
All Saints Church Cemetery Alice Flagg Grave In Pawleys Island SC - Born to an upper-class family, Alice Flagg, grew up along the South Carolina coast in the early 19th century. When Alice was around the age of 15 or 16, she fell in love with a man her brother didn’t approve of due to his social class. Because he disapproved, he sent her to boarding school in Charleston where she contracted malaria and slipped into a comatose state. Her brother brought her home soon discovering that Alice had been keeping a secret. She was engaged. Hiding her engagement ring on a ribbon that she wore underneath her clothes. Enraged Dr. Flagg tore off the ring and then proceeded to throw it in the marsh so that it’d never be found again. It is said that Alice still haunts these grounds and the grounds of The Hermitage the home she grew up in looking for her ring.

This is a slide show of the grave of Alice at the All Saints Cemetery in Pawleys Island South Carolina. The grave is said to be haunted.
Alice's family would not let her be with the man she loved, who was beneath her station in life. In 1849 Alice secretly got engaged...arguments of great fervor incurred.. She was then sent to go to school in Charleston. Alice got sick. Her brother returned her to Murrells Inlet, It took four days.
Alice died soon after arrival, her engagement ring taken from the ribbon on her neck. She was buried in All Saints Cemetery in Pawleys Island South Carolina. The grave is marked with a slab that only reads Alice. It is believed that her family left off the last name, so in death she could chose her last name.
To this day people leave rings, flowers and candles on her grave.

American prelate Chuck Murphy Died at 70
Charles Hurt Murphy III was born on December 6, 1947 and died on January 8, 2018. He was an American bishop. He was the missionary bishop, bishop ordinary and chairman of the Anglican Mission in the Americas, the former missionary wing of the Anglican Church of Rwanda in the United States and Canada, since its origin in 2000. He was married for more than 40 years and had three adult daughters. He came from a family of Episcopal priests, being the son, brother and brother-in-law of priests. Murphy was born in Decatur, Alabama. Murphy graduated from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama. He afterwards moved to Trinity College in Bristol, England, where he studied theology under J. I. Packer. He completed his theology training at the University of the South. He died at Litchfield Plantation, Pawleys Island, South Carolina. He served in several congregations in the United States, until being called to serve as rector of All Saints' Church in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, in 1982, where he would stay for more than 20 years.

Surfside Beach SC--The outreach to families with children on The Spectrum was spearheaded by Becky Large of Champion Autism Network, or CAN. She started the Sensory Friendly Movies in 2014 at the Grand 14 in Myrtle Beach. The response was overwhelming and the parents kept asking, “What else is there?!!” In response to them, in 2015, she wrote a grant and received start-up funds through the United Way of Horry County to start the ACE (Autism Community Education) Program with Autism services provider SOS Healthcare, Inc., which trains businesses, venues and restaurants in the needs of those with Autism.
