What transportation options are available in Canada?
You can travel in Canada by air, by rail, by bus, by ferry and by car. All major cities have public
transportation systems. Many cities in Canada offer public transportation services for people with
limited mobility as well.
All major Canadian cities have airports with regularly scheduled flights. To fly in Canada, you need
a photographic identity document issued by the federal, provincial or territorial government in
Canada, such as a driver’s license, or a foreign passport.
Train is a convenient and safe travel alternative. Canadian railway connects the country from
Halifax, Nova Scotia, in the east to Vancouver and Prince Rupert, British Columbia, in the west.
Train tickets and more information are available at Via Rail Canada’s website or in person at train
stations.
Bus transportation is a cheap travel alternative, but it can be lengthy due to the large distances
between cities. Often it is the only public transport available to travel to smaller cities. The largest
network of bus routes is run by Greyhound. Bus tickets and more information about bus
transportation is available from your local bus station.
Ferries are a common way to travel in Canadian coastal areas such as the British Columbia and the
Maritimes.
Long-distance travel by car in Canada is the most common form of travel between most
destinations due to Canada’s well developed highway network. However, there are fewer roads in
the territories and some northern communities are only accessible by plane or boat in summer
(though many are accessible by ice road in the winter).
Canadian taxi companies offer taxi services that use set, fixed, non-negotiable rates to calculate
the cost of your trip. You need to pay the taxi metre amount at the end of the trip, but you can ask
for the cost at the beginning. It is customary to offer a tip for a good taxi service. Taxi drivers must
carry an official identification card on the taxi dashboard issued by the city administration.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Welcome to Nature's Route Farm!
Note: Select highest quality HD 720p to settings (gear symbol, bottom screen)
Welcome to Nature's Route Farm! We grow a wide variety of great tasting vegetables and lamb on our beautiful farm overlooking the New Brunswick / Nova Scotia border. Our vegetables and lamb are grown ethically, sustainably, and responsibly.
Since 2007, we have sold most of our vegetables as CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) weekly vegetable boxes. Our CSA members purchase a 'share' of the harvest bounty and choose 6 and 10 different vegetables from a market style pick up throughout the season. Our vegetable packages start anytime between June and December and end at the end of December.
Our produce and lamb is predominantly sold in Sackville, NB and we also have a CSA pick-up in Moncton at the St-Patrick Community Center from July until November.
We also sell at the Sackville Farmers' Market year round.

CDT Thru Hike 2018 Ep 31 - East Glacier to Canada - CDT Finish: Blizzard at the Border
In the final episode of my Continental Divide Trail Thru Hike Documentary, Hopeful, Katie and I leave East Glacier to hike the last leg of the CDT together through Glacier National Park. The route I hiked ended up being 74 miles over 3 half days and one full day.
Hopeful and I met up with Katie in East Glacier. With the team back together, we toiled over our options considering the fact that a winter storm is here and everything in the area is about to shut down for the season. With few good options, and a lack of understanding of what the conditions are in the high country, we set out on the Highline Trail. We made it to Old Man Lake night one, a few miles below the first pass. With temps in the teens and several inches of fresh snow on the ground, we had a miserable morning packing up wet tents and gear with frozen hands and feet. Recognizing the fact that we weren't even in the high country yet where the worst of the conditions are, plus another 18 inches of snow on the way, Katie and I decided to turn around and go back to East Glacier to form another plan. Hopeful decided to press on alone, determined to reach Waterton.
In East Glacier, Katie and I learned that every other CDT thru hiker we know of in Glacier bailed out of the mountains. So that made me feel better about such a heartbreaking decision, that at least it was the right call. Since the road to Chief Mountain, the alternate CDT end point, is now closed for the winter, I won't be able to hitch back. Now, the only real option is to road walk the rest of the way to Port of Piegan, the only customs/border crossing open for many miles. Katie later changed her mind about the road walk aspect and wanted to try and end at Waterton still. She was able to contact a CDT hiker named Magoo and meet up with him at St. Marys to hike the rest of the way to Waterton from there. So somehow we went from ending as a group to going our own ways again.
My second to last day on the CDT was my 2nd longest at 37 miles. It was one of the toughest days for me emotionally along the whole CDT. I saw my 6th black bear of the hike this evening as I walked into the darkness of night, through a thick and eerie fog, and reached the town of Babb. There's no public land, so I was forced to grab a hotel. When i woke up in the morning of my final day, there was a foot of snow on the ground. I walked the final 10 miles in a complete whiteout to the border to end my 165 day Continental Divide Trail thru hike. Mission complete!!

Halifax, Nova Scotia
Halifax (/ˈhælɨfæks/), formally the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), is the capital of the province of Nova Scotia, Canada. The metropolitan area had a population of 390,096 in 2011 with 297,943 in the urban area. Formed by the 1996 amalgamation of Halifax County, the municipality is divided into 18 community planning areas, which are, in turn, divided into over 200 named communities and neighbourhoods, such as the former cities of Dartmouth and Halifax proper.
Halifax is a major economic centre in eastern Canada with a large concentration of government services and private sector companies. Major employers and economic generators include the Department of National Defence, Dalhousie University, the Halifax Shipyard, various levels of government, and the Port of Halifax. Agriculture, fishing, mining, forestry and natural gas extraction are major resource industries found in the rural areas of the municipality. Halifax was ranked by MoneySense magazine as the fourth best place to live in Canada for 2012, placed first on a list of large cities by quality of life and placed second in a list of large cities of the future, both conducted by fDi Magazine for North and South American cities.

Peggys Cove Landscape
Peggys Cove is 43 kilometres southwest of downtown Halifax and comprises one of the numerous small fishing communities located around the perimeter of the Chebucto Peninsula.
The community is named after the cove of the same name. Peggy is a nickname for Margaret, and the village may have taken its name from St. Margaret's Bay upon which it is situated. Local folklore has several alternative origins for the name. Some people claim Peggy was an early settler. Others say she was a young survivor from a shipwreck who remembered nothing of her life before her rescue; not even her name but was given the name Peggy by the family who adopted her. Visitors drawn by the mysterious child that eventually gave the village the name Peggy's Cove.
