The American Precision Museum is located in Windsor, Vermont. The building is said to be the first U.S. factory at which precision interchangeable parts were made, giving birth to the precision machine tool industry. The museum has the largest collection of historically significant machine tools in the United States. A machine tool is a machine which makes parts to other machines, such as screws or gun stocks, generally without a skilled craftsman doing the precision work. Instead, a machine operator controls the machine as it does the precision work. Mount Ascutney, Vermont - Travels With Phil
Mount Ascutney is the site of a State Park in eastern Vermont. At 2,270 feet above the surrounding territory, it has a great view from the summit. On a good day, you can see at least 4 states.

History: The origin of “Ascutney” is from the Abenaki “Cas-Cad-Nac,” meaning “mountain of the rocky summit;” an appropriate name for this prominent mountain peak rising abruptly from the Connecticut River valley. A permanent settlement, “Ascutegnik,” of peoples of the Cowasuck band of Abenaki tribe existed on lands near the mouth of the Sugar River. In modern geographic terms, this is across the Connecticut River from Ascutney Village on Route 131. Native peoples likely hunted, fished and camped around the mountain particularly at lower elevations.
Over time, European settlers adopted the place name “Ascutney” to refer to both the white settlement on the western side of the Connecticut River, and the prominent mountain peak. The mountain has long been featured in the history of Ascutney Village, the towns of Weathersfield and Windsor, which it lies in, and in the state of Vermont. Mount Ascutney was home to the first purposebuilt hiking trail in the United States. A group of local residents constructed a trail in 1825 to coincide with the visit of dignitary Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette (known commonly as General Lafayette, a French aristocrat and military officer in the American Revolutionary War). While Lafayette didn’t end up visiting the area, the trail became popular regionally. The next trail was built in 1858 and approximates the current-day Windsor Trail. This carriage-road style trail led to the high-elevation Tip Top House, which capitalized on summit tourism which was popular at the time. The modern trail system dates to the late 19th century and now consists of 4 base-to-summit trails on state land. The Ascutney Trails Association, the oldest trail organization in the United States, was formed in 1903. Park development occurred in the 1930’s as part of the Civilian Conservation Corps and in the early 1960’s with campground expansion,. The Futures Trail was built in 1983. Most recently, a new camping loop of cabins opened in 2018.
Across the river from Windsor, Vermont in the rural town of Cornish, New Hampshire, a collective of artists and sculptors settled with the peak of activity from the 1880’s to the 1930’s. Thus, the area became referred to as the Cornish Colony. Notable artists that lived in the area were Augustus Saint-Gaudens, Maxfield Parrish, Charles Platt, Thomas Dewing and writers Winston Churchill and J.D. Salinger. In 2014, the United States exported $104.7 billion in financial services and had a $35.01 billion surplus in financial services and insurance trade (excluding re-insurance, the financial services and insurance sectors had a surplus of $67.5 billion). The financial services and insurance sectors employed 6.08 million people in 2015. The securities subsector of the industry shows great potential for employment growth, with a 12 percent increase expected by 2018. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, 920,700 people were employed in the securities and investment sector at the end of 2015. Recently 83 mil. account folder at JP Morgan Chase were hacked by cyber attacks, possibly putting customers at risk. This Data Breach of American’s biggest bank which many assumed was more secure than recently hacked retailers. All the customers are shocked because they believed in the security of the bank. Hackers stole customer IDs and next will try to backtrack further. Paul Oster, credit expert and the founder of Better Qualified, expects the hackers go phishing. This means that they will send fake but officially looking emails designed to count chase customers and giving up account details. Paul suggests being very accurate with every email coming from Chase and looked sophisticated. Every email should be verified.

Springfield is a city in the state of Massachusetts, United States, and the seat of Hampden County. Hartford is the capital city of Connecticut. It was the seat of Hartford County until Connecticut disbanded county government in 1960. The city is nicknamed the Insurance Capital of the World, as it hosts many insurance company headquarters and is the region's major industry. It is the core city in the Greater Hartford area of Connecticut.
Hartford was founded in 1635 and is among the oldest cities in the United States. It is home to the nation's oldest public art museum (Wadsworth Atheneum), the oldest publicly funded park (Bushnell Park), the oldest continuously published newspaper (the Hartford Courant), and the second-oldest secondary school (Hartford Public High School). It also is home to Trinity College, a private liberal arts college, and the Mark Twain House where the author wrote his most famous works and raised his family, among other historically significant attractions. Mark Twain wrote in 1868, Of all the beautiful towns it has been my fortune to see this is the chief.
Hartford was the richest city in the United States for several decades following the American Civil War. Today, it is one of the poorest cities in the nation, with 3 out of every 10 families living below the poverty threshold. In sharp contrast, the Greater Hartford metropolitan area is ranked 32nd of 318 metropolitan areas in total economic production and 8th out of 280 metropolitan statistical areas in per capita income.Census estimates since the 2010 United States Census have indicated that Hartford is the fourth-largest city in Connecticut, behind the coastal cities of Bridgeport, New Haven, and Stamford.
