Thai Food at Amphawa Floating Market - Thailand SEAFOOD FEAST Cooked on a Boat!
Mike and I are taking you on a Thai street food snacking tour of Amphawa Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำอัมพวา)!

Amphawa Floating Market is one of the most well known Thai floating markets, located around 1.5 hours drive from Bangkok in a province called Samut Songkhram. So we first drove over to the market in the mid afternoon to get started snacking on some of the amazing Thai street food snacks available throughout the market.
Tod man pla (ทอดมันปลา) - 20 THB ($0.57) - We started by sampling some fried fish cakes. They were pretty good, both Mike and I both enjoyed it.
Khanom krok kai nok (ขนมครกไข่นก) - 20 THB ($0.57) - Another snack at the same stall was fried quail eggs. They are so pure and so delicious.
Khanom bansib (ขนมปั้นสิบ) - 100 THB ($2.87) - This is a common Thai street food snack at Amphawa Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำอัมพวา) and they have a few stalls serving it. It’s alright, a pasty wrapper filled with fish, but not my favorite.
Hoy shell yang cheese (หอยเซลล์ย่างชีส) - 150 THB for 6 ($4.31) - Mike and I both saw the scallops topped with a variety of seasoning and then finally some cheese, and we both mutually agreed that we didn’t want to miss it. It turned out to be extremely delicious.
Floating Market boat restaurants - There aren’t actually that many real boat floating restaurants at Amphawa Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำอัมพวา), but they do have a few. After waiting a little while, we got seats and orderded up a selection of Thai seafood. We had goong pao (กุ้งเผา roasted shrimp), pla meuk yang (ปลาหมึกย่าง grilled squid), pla pao (ปลาเผา grilled fish), and finally boo pao (ปูเผา grilled crab) to complete our entire Thai seafood feast at Amphawa Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำอัมพวา). Total price - 1,060 THB ($30.47). Overall, the seafood was pretty decent, I especially enjoyed the crab.
Miang kham (เมี่ยงคำ) - 10 THB ($0.29) per stick - This vegetable leaf wrapped snacks is one of my favorites. In every bite, it’s a real taste of Thailand.
Khanom takoh (ขนมตะโก้) - 35 THB ($1) - We had a dessert, which is coconut pudding, and this time served in a take-away clay bowl.
Yam kai maeng da (ยำไข่แมงดา) - 100 THB ($2.87) - Finally to finish off this Thai street food tour of Amphawa Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำอัมพวา) with Mike Chen, we had to try some horseshoe crab salad. It was as good as always.

Thailand Street Food Amphawa Floating Market
Amphawa floating market is one of the most unique places you can visit in Thailand. Here you can order street food from a boat and eat by the riverside.
The locals also love to visit this place and the prices are cheap and affordable for street food and souvenirs.
You can also take boat rides for ard 50thb / $1.63usd a person and for certain seasons there will be fireflies at night along the river.
It is one and a half hour away from bangkok and the cheapest way to get here is by bus from Sai Tai Mai Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal.
Becareful of certain locals who guide you away from Amphawa and to visit another floating market which is 30mins away, that place cost alot more and is much more smaller.

The market is only 90km’s away from Bangkok (sorry but I said 50km’s in the video) and is an extremely popular day trip or weekend getaway for residents of Bangkok. The food is great, the market is frenetic and it’s seriously not a destination that should be missed.
Every regular traveler to Thailand should have Amphawa on their list of destinations. For those who actually live in Bangkok, there’s absolutely no excuse for you not to visit.

What a long day! We started the day early and went to Maeklong Market to catch the train coming in. Once we saw the historical train pass by the market, we headed straight to the next market, Amphawa! I have only heard and seen so much about this market online. The market did not disappoint, it lived up to it's hyped for the food. After Amphawa, we headed to Chatuchak. By now, we were already so tired and Chatuchak is an insanely large maze! So we only spent an hour or two here before heading out to our final stop, Punjab Grill. In short, this was one of my best meals ever. We had their tasting menu and it was such an interesting play on flavour and textures. What an amazing day!

Der Amphawa Floating Market liegt etwa 90 Kilometer südwestlich von Bangkok und man kann ihn über Bus und Bahn erreichen, was allerdings nicht so einfach ist. Mittlerweile gibt es Busse die Rund um die Uhr fahren.
Der Amphawa Floating Market ist ein klassischer Flussmarkt wie man ihn in Thailand kennt. Hier bekommt ihr Souvenirs, Handmanufakturen und viele leckere Speisen die man direkt am Fluss zu sich nehmen kann.
Der Markt ist noch nicht überlaufen von Tourismus weil er von Bangkok etwas entfernt ist. Aber jetzt laufen wir mal gemeinsam durch den Markt und schauen was es hier alles so gibt. Leider ist Sonntags auf dem Markt sehr viel los, weil da die Thais oft frei haben und ihn besuchen.
Wir können euch den Markt empfehlen, wenn ihr mal in Bangkok seid. Die Jasmin und ich waren auch schon beim bekannten Damoen Saduak floating market und wir können euch sagen der ist überlaufen von Tourismus und ihr bekommt da nur Souvenirs wie in Bangkok!
Der Amphawa Floating Market wird in den Reisebüros fast gar nicht angeboten und lasst euch im Reisebüro nicht überreden zu dem Damoen Saduak Floating Market zu gehen falls ihr nach den Amphawa Floating Market fragt. Am besten fragt ihr in euren Hotel nach einem Taxi für den Amphawa Floating Market.

Vlog 04 | 24 Hours In Amphawa Floating Market, Thailand
Me and a local friend, Napath, decided to take an overnight trip to the Amphawa Floating Market. We devoured local delicacies, cruised along the river to see temples by the day and fireflies in the evening. The next day, we woke up early to offer some alms to monks cruising the river.
Overall it was an amazing experience that shouldn't be missed. Food are cheap yet mouthwatering , the place is very rich in local culture and mostly locals going there. Only few foreigners!
