Shot on September 11, 2005. Annapolis, Maryland on a bright and sunny Sunday morning. The video begins as I walk around the State House. Next I walk around the beautiful downtown harbor on Chesapeake Bay. The video concludes with a boat cruise on Chesapeake Bay and the Severn River. During the cruise we sail past the United States Naval Academy.

Annapolis is an amazing place for boating and sailing in Chesapeake Bay. It is one of the most beautiful town to visit during summer weekend. It is even better to visit this town by water.
We could not bring our boat so tried to go on the dingy. As you will see, the whole area is flooded with big boats and there's no space to part. The channels leading to the town is full of boats anchored in the water.
It was fun and hilarious, not a bit scary, although we were stopped by the water cops for speeding at night while going back home :-)

Surviving the 2019 U.S. Sailboat Show in Annapolis, MD with 4 kids! // Sailing La Vagabonde gone?!
What better way to spend a weekend in October than by packing up your four kids and taking them to the world famous United States Sailboat Show in Annapolis, Maryland! I've been sailing with my family for as long as I can remember, but I never made the trip to Annapolis until now. We had a few set backs during our visit, but overall it was a fun weekend with the family. Now we just need our own sailboat and we can be official sailors!

In October sailors from around the globe will gather on miles of docks in beautiful downtown historic Annapolis to celebrate 50 Years of Sailboat Shows in Annapolis. The United States Sailboat Show is an internationally acclaimed sailboat show, recognized as the world’s largest and most prestigious sailboat show.
Boat show goers will enjoy the unique opportunity to board and inspect new models from virtually every major sailboat manufacturer, make side-by-side comparisons, talk to industry representatives, and see the latest in boating products and services. Come enjoy a day of exhibiting, shopping, drink tastings, and live entertainment!

Walking the streets and alleyways of Historic Annapolis MD
What is not to absolutely LOVE about Annapolis Maryland!? We spent a weekend exploring the city, and spent an entire family fun day walking the streets of historic Annapolis. We also picked up some Chocolate at Kilwin's along the way and the kids learned a thing or two about life in the old days at Hogshead.

Annapolis, MD to New York Harbor - Crewing on a Kadey-Krogen
We spent a week on board our best friends Brian & Joe's fantastic new trawler, a Kadey-Krogen 48 Whaleback raised pilothouse, sailing from Annapolis, MD to New York Harbor.
The boat is incredibly stable and comfortable and feels like a much larger yacht. The only pretty rough weather on the trip was crossing Delaware Bay from the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal to the Cape May Canal. The boat handled the 6-foot waves without a problem.
We spent nights in Baltimore, MD, Chesapeake City, MD, Cape May, NJ and in Sandy Hook Bay off Atlantic Highlands, NJ. We then sailed under the Verrazano Bridge into New York Harbor and up the Hudson River past the Statue of Liberty and the New World Trade Center. What a great time we all had!

USNA Offshore Sail Training Squadron: Annapolis to Essex
OSTS is one of the premier summer training programs for Midshipmen at the US Naval Academy. The Midshipmen receive training in ocean sailing, seamanship, navigation, leadership, and teamwork. In June, 2013, five Navy 44s, crewed by 3/c Midshipmen and led by 2/c and 1/c Midshipmen, USNA Faculty, Staff, or Civilian volunteers sailed from Annapolis, MD to Essex, CT. Upon arrival, twenty-two families from the Essex Yacht Club opened their homes and acted as host for the 50 USNA participants. Dinner at the EYC was highlighted by a traditional exchange of burgees.
