In Rich Dad Poor Dad, the #1 Personal Finance book of all time, Robert Kiyosaki shares the story of his two dad: his real father, whom he calls his ‘poor dad,’ and the father of his best friend, the man who became his mentor and his ‘rich dad.’ One man was well educated and an employee all his life, the other’s education was “street smarts” over traditional classroom education and he took the path of entrepreneurship…a road that led him to become one of the wealthiest men in Hawaii. Robert’s poor dad struggled financially all his life, and these two dads—these very different points of view of money, investing, and employment—shaped Robert’s thinking about money.
Robert has challenged and changed the way tens of millions of people, around the world, think about money and investing and he has become a global advocate for financial education and the path to financial freedom. Rich Dad Poor Dad (and the Rich Dad series it spawned) has sold over 36 million copies in English and translated editions around the world.
Rich Dad Poor Dad will…
• crush the myth that you need to earn a high income to become rich
• challenge the belief that your house is an asset
• tell parents why they can’t rely on the school system to teach their kids
about money
• define, once and for all, an asset and a liability
• explain the difference between good debt and bad debt
• teach you to see the world of money from different perspectives
• discuss the shift in mindset that can put you on the road to financial freedom

Oh, I have roamed o'er many lands Recited by Michael B Mannion Poem animation
Heres a virtual movie of the obscure but brilliant Michael B Mannion reciting Oh, I have roamed o'er many lands also known as Erin is my Home a poem of uncertain origin sometimes attributed to Thomas Haunes Bayly
Michael B Mannion was a reciter of poetry of whom I have been able to find nothing else about other than that he was Irish and has been described as The Bard of Kensington
Michael Mannion came from a farming family in the parish of Tyrnascragh, East Galway. He spent some time as a brother in a religious order.
At the outbreak of WW2 he joined the London Fire Brigade & was stationed in Chelsea. He subsequently volunteered for the Indian fire service. Later he took the King's shilling whilst under the influence, well so he claimed. He was commissioned & left the army with the rank of captain. He was a salesman after the army, vacuum cleaners & I have heard that he sold watches for Selfridges, Oxford Street.
He had a fantastic memory for poetry which he would recite at the drop of the proverbial.
He drank in most of the Notting Hill Gate pubs including the Churchill Arms. The Prince Albert was different in many ways to the Camden Hill pubs but mainly because Mick was one of many caracters that frequented the boozer. Among these were Jack Doyle, former boxer & wrestler, the actors Oliver McGreevy & Harry Webster & Gerry Quinn who was a patron of Mannion's. Hence the record is dedicated to Gerry's daughters. Btw the producer of that album was not a Dubliner.
One of Michael's friends was Brendan Lynch writer & habitué of the Winsor who wrote an obituary. He was photographed & interviewed by John Cullen (Irish Post,London) & John Minahan (London Evening Stanard)
Michael B Mannion is buried in Fahy Graveyard, in his native parish
Kind Regards
Jim Clark

I Have Roamed in many Lands....
Oh, I have roamed in many lands,
And many friends I've met, Not one fair scene or kindly smile
Can this fond heart forget. But I'll confess that I'm content,
No more I wish to roam; Oh, steer my bark for Erin's Isle,
For Erin Is my home. If England were my place of birth,
I'd love her tranquil shore, And if Columbia were my home.
Her freedom I'd adore; Tho' pleasant days in both I've passed,
I dream of days to come; Oh, steer my bark to Erin's Isle,
For Erin is my home.

A Whan Wedding!
On Friday, 12th April 2013, Ebonnie May Fagan and Peter Bradley Whan were married at St David's Presbyterian Church, Maules Creek. They were attended by an amazing bridal party of 12 people and surrounded by 150 guests from interstate and overseas. This short video was made by the extremely talented Sascha Estens, who has gone above and beyond anything that we expected or could have imagined.
A small church with historic family ties and bounded by picturesque countryside in Maules Creek was the setting for Ebonnie Fagan and Peter Whan's twilight wedding on April 12, 2013.
Ebonnie is the eldest daughter of Dick and Caroline Fagan of Narrabri and Peter is the youngest son of Dougie and Jenny Whan of Maules Creek.
Although no longer used for church services, St David's Presbyterian Church has a close connection to the groom's family.
Peter's grandfather helped to build it in the 1950's, and the only stained glass window is dedicated to Peter's great grandmother.
Ebonnie and Peter were surrounded by 150 guests who travelled from all over Australia, as well as Cambodia and England.
The bride's stunning lace gown was complemented by a veil that Peter's Aunty wore on her wedding day, and an added face piece worn by Peter's sister-in-law Amanda Whan.
Ebonnie also wore her great grandmother's wedding band and her grandmother's engagement ring.
Her maid of honour Trudi Nordblom (Wagga Wagga) and bridesmaids Libby Fahey (Sydney), Amanda Whan (Narrabri), Jennifer Young (Perth), Sarah Scott Paul (Sydney) and Alex Tapp (Ballarat), wore long orange gowns and carried silk native flower bouquets.
Peter, his bestman Richard Whan (Narrabri), and groomsmen David Whan (Maules Creek), Tim Whan (Wee Waa), Todd Fagan (Narrabri), Mitchell Knight (Sydney) and Jono Eather (Mackay) wore three piece grey suits and orange ties.
Page boy was Fletcher Whan and flower girl was Charlie Tout.
Guests watched the wedding party arrive in family owned cars, including a Toyota Echo, Commodore VL, Holden 1 Tonner, Nissan Bluebird, Holden FJ, and a music-playing Mr Whippy Van.
Ebonnie arrived on the back of her father's Harley Davidson.
The newlyweds hadn't seen each other in the week before the wedding and exchanged vows beneath wedding portraits of their grandparents and parents that hung in the church.
A catered reception followed in the Maules Creek hall, where the couple had their first dance to a Troy Cassar-Daley song reworded especially for the occasion by the country music star.
They flew to London two days later for a three week honeymoon in the UK, Istanbul, Gallipoli, Paris and Nice.
Peter took part in the London Marathon while in the UK to raise funds for Youngcare.
He trained for months before the event and raised $8000.
Although he was disappointed with his time, his family and new wife were proud of his efforts.
The couple continue to live in Narrabri, with Ebonnie teaching at Narrabri Public School and Peter studying a nursing degree through the University of Southern Queensland.
He hopes to specialise in mental health.

Backstage at the Festival - GIAF Festival Gallery talk with Ana Maria Pacheco
Backstage at the Festival - Ana Maria Pacheco, whose 'Dark Night of the Soul' exhibition is running as part of Galway International Arts Festival (GIAF) 2017, talks to Colin Wiggins as part of this Festival Gallery talk.
Ana Maria Pacheco looks fearlessly into the dark heart of humanity and seeks out the light. This powerful solo exhibition by the Brazilian–born artist features major works that have rightly brought her international critical and popular acclaim.
Ana Maria Pacheco is a painter, sculptor and printmaker who was born in Brazil in 1943 and has lived in England since 1973. The first non–European associate artist of the National Gallery, London, Pacheco’s nineteen figure installation Dark Night of the Soul was inspired by her time in residence there.
Pacheco encourages the viewer to get close to her figures and exploits the respective scale of each to challenge the audience’s physical and moral equilibrium. Her work deals with issues of control and the exercise of power, drawing upon the tensions between the old world of Europe and the new world of her Brazilian birth and looks unflinchingly upon the perilous world we encounter.

Arsenal v Chelsea 2-3 | Goals & Highlights
A late winner in their 3-2 win over the Gunners kept the Blues top of the tree
CHELSEA boss Emma Hayes was left beaming at the final whistle after seeing her side claim a crucial last-gasp win against London rivals Arsenal.
Ji so Yun won the game for Chelsea with a goal two minutes from time to break Arsenal hearts and ensure her team remain in pole position.
Goals from Arsenal’s Danielle Carter and Leah Williamson; either side of Yuki Ogimi’s penalty and Jackie Groenen’s strike, as well as Casey Stoney’s missed penalty, marked a frantic opening 30 minutes, before Yun won the match late on.
“I wanted to manage the game in the last seven minutes; I felt a point away from home would be good as we’d never won at Boreham Wood,” she said.
“But to win tonight makes things even harder for those around us. We’ve played a fantastic Arsenal team tonight, who perhaps don’t feel they deserve to be on the losing side.
“But that’s the difference between championships – with players like Ji so Yun, who wasn’t at her best tonight, a moment’s quality from her was all the difference when we least expected it.
“I think everybody would call us favourites. But as far as I’m concerned it’s still in Birmingham’s hands.
“I’ll know at the end of the season, I jumped on my assistant Paul at the end. It was a passionate game, it was full of a lot of intense moments from both teams, but it was also littered with a lot of mistakes and that’s because there was a lot at stake.
“A lot of young players that are not accustomed to competing for titles, so mistakes happened, but credit to their character because that comes through in games like this, so I’m proud of them for that, and we got a little bit of luck tonight.”
Carter, latching onto a rebounding ball after Gilly Flaherty's crunching tackle on the edge of the box, finished calmly beyond Marie Hourihan after just ten minutes, to break the deadlock for the hosts.
Then Stoney, in front of Mark Sampson, who hours earlier had dropped the former skipper from his England squad for their next World Cup qualifier, skewed her spot kick over the bar.
Chelsea then won a penalty as Alex Scott was adjudged to have handled on the line from Ogimi’s shot after a scramble in the area. Ogimi slotted it, bottom left.
Just minutes later the Blues were ahead as Groenen finished from Ana Borges' measured cut back down the right wing after a sweeping switch-pass from Katie Chapman.
Williamson levelled the sides again as she latched onto a loose back pass from left back Hannah Blundell and sent a stunning chip into the top corner.
And then late on Yun capitalised on a poor clearance from Gunners keeper Byrne, which allowed the midfielder to steal the points with a cool finish in the bottom left corner.
Arsenal’s Kelly Smith said: “It’s disappointing; I think we did enough on the night to get a point out of the game. Credit to Chelsea, they’ve come here and ground out a result.
“We’ve got an opportunity next week to turn it around and build the morale back up, and get ourselves in the final.
“We’re a team that likes to possess the ball, so we’re not going to boot it long. So we’re not going to hold Emma Byrne responsible for that, we win as a team, and lose as a team, we’re a little bit disappointed to not come away with any points tonight.
“Our start to the season wasn’t ideal but we knew it would be tough, but we’ve gelled after the break and really come on strong.
“We’ve shown that strength in character and playing attractive football, we’ve got a few youngsters in the side that is here to play for the red shirt.”

Police use of firearms in the United Kingdom
The United Kingdom is made up of four constituent countries: England, Scotland, Wales (which make up Great Britain) and Northern Ireland. In Northern Ireland, all police officers carry firearms. In the rest of the United Kingdom, police officers do not carry firearms, except in special circumstances. This originates from the formation of the Metropolitan Police Service in the 19th century, when police were not armed, partly to counter public fears and objections over armed enforcers as this had been previously seen due to the British Army maintaining order when needed. The arming of police in Great Britain is a perennial topic of debate.
Most officers are instead issued with other items for personal defence, such as Speedcuffs, Extendable ASP Baton, and incapacitant sprays such as PAVA or CS spray. While not firearms, incapacitant sprays are subject to some of the same rules and regulations as a projectile firing firearm under Section 5 (b) of the Firearms Act 1968.
