LEARNING HOW TO COOK IN HANOI ( VIETNAM | VLOG 24 )
Vietnamese food is truly amazing. We did our FIRST cooking class ever! A really cool experience, especially in Hanoi. We walked the local markets and learnt all about the different ingredients and their benefits to Vietnamese cuisine.
We tried a wide variety of delicious, and not so delicious..., food and then brought it all full circle and cooked some traditional vietnamese dishes.
This is the start of our journey to pursue a life fulfilling our travel passions while we document the ups and downs of embracing the 'location independent', remote working - digital nomad - lifestyle.

Hanoi Street Food Tour in Vietnam
It was a fantastic experience to see & eat like a Hanoian with Hanoi Street Food Tour in Vietnam. We were three in a group with Guide Sunny and had complete fun while trying many Vietnamese street foods for the first time in Hanoi. It was more than three hours tour by walking in the famous Hanoi Old Quarter.
On the way, we also enjoyed the remarkable beauty of Hoan Kiem Lake. Hanoi Old Quarter is a popular street and full with many local restaurants, cafe, shops, and hostels. You can enjoy budget travel here. I spent just 25 USD (price varies) for the whole tour. I had seven types of Hanoi street food, and fun was unlimited.
Our Guide Sunny was very cooperative and friendly. At the end of the tour, she helped me to drop at My Moon Hotel by motorbike.
Here is the list of seven local restaurants where we tried many tasty (Ngon) top street food of Hanoi. If you’re vegetarian, no worries, you can have all the veggie food options for you. I had the same and some of my favorites were Banh My, Nem, Kem Xoi, and Papaya salad with peanut.
1. Bun Cha Ta
21 Nguyễn Hữu Huân
Here we had Bún Chả (Grilled pork rice noodles). This top popular street food served with grilled Chả (pork), Bún (Rice noodles), fresh herbs and dipping sauce. Instead of pork, I took veggie spring rolls.
2. Hanoi Egg Coffee
10 Hàng Muối
First, we had Apple water and the taste was bitter. I loved the Egg coffee here which locally known as Cà Phê Trứng and had with Bánh Mỳ (Sandwich).
3. Nom Thit Bo Kho Restaurant
23 Hồ Hoàn Kiếm
Nộm Bò Khô ( Dried beef salad) is a must-try here. I liked to have Papaya salad and also enjoyed to see the process of this popular street food in Hanoi.
4. Bánh Cuốn Nống
14B Báo Khánh
Do you love a pancake? It was interesting to see the processing of Bánh Cuốn (Steamed rice pancake). Each pancake is so thin and made with rice sheets. The taste of rice pancake with the Kumquat flavor dipping sauce is mouthwatering.
5. Apron Up Restaurant
66 Bát Sứ
Apron Up offers traditional Vietnamese food and cooking class as well. We had Miến Xào (Glass noodles).
6. Viet Spring Rolls
65A Bát Ðàn Street
I love Vietnamese Nem (Spring rolls). If you don't take meat, you can always have veggie spring rolls with fried onions and sauces.
7. Chè Dung
95 Hàng Bạc
Last we had Vietnamese dessert, Kem Xôi. It served with sticky rice and coconut flavored ice cream. The fresh and sweet taste of this yummy Hanoi street food is a must-try for local food lovers around.
Furthermore, You may also like to try the taste of the local beer of Hanoi. So, Một Hai Ba Zô (Cheers) to all :)

Vietnam - Hanoi
Chapter 3 - Vietnam series (Hanoi)
The final video in the Vietnam series!
Join us walking around Hanoi city we didn’t go to Halong Bay as it was the most expensive thing in Hanoi to do even though the pictures of it looked awesome we thought we had done some awesome things in Vietnam already and we had to save some cash for other destinations but maybe if we went back to Vietnam we would do that, and also go further north as it looked pretty awesome up there too!
so we found the train street, we wandered about as the streets of Hanoi are great for wandering and getting lost, we went to the Hanoi Hilton which was the prison in Hanoi for a few different causes - made famous by the american POWs who came here and got pretty nice treatment. we also did a cooking class with Apron Up cooking classes they made the dishes vegan too! they took us to the night market where we saw the ladies with their push bike stalls (apparently this was for a quick getaway as its not totally Kosher to sell at the night markets).
Any how Hanoi City is cool and we had the opportunity to see the AFC match final so what an experience! We are not massive sports fans but the atmosphere here was unmatched! They were so passionate we had a great afternoon (even though Vietnam didn’t win the AFC but came second!)
Next stop Cambodia!
