If you ever visit Ireland, I strongly urge you to take a day trip to the Aran Islands, specifically Inis Mór, the largest of the three islands. It is known for its 300 foot cliff and ancient fort, Dún Aonghasa. I was lucky enough to visit this island twice in the last week and here is the drone footage I captured in my time there! GALWAY, IRELAND: Inisheer, Aran Islands and Cliffs of Moher | TRAVEL VLOG
We took a VERY rough, rainy, and windy ferry ride to the Island of Inisheer, one of the three Aran Islands. With a population of only 450, plus castle ruins and rock walls, it truly felt like stepping back in time. Most islanders don't even own cars, but instead use bikes...or horses.
After another rough trip back to the mainland, we continued our tour to the top of one of the worlds most photographed spots - The Cliffs of Moher. I can't even put their beauty into words. We finished our tour making our way through The Burren. With its rocky, almost moon-like surface, it has a unique beauty.

The essence of Irish landscape is the beauty-of green fields bounded by miles of rock walls; ancient stone houses with thatch roofs; cows and sheep wandering freely. This is a wild region of mountains, lakes, tumbling streams, undulating peat bogs, unspoiled beaches, and panoramic views. It is a Gaelic-speaking region that has maintained its traditional character and kept the modern world at bay. The musical accent of the friendly locals will charm your heart in a way you can never forget.
The west of Ireland has for generations been considered one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland and it seems that the beauty of the Connemara scenery is matched by the demeanor of its inhabitants. Galway has been voted the friendliest city in the world in a recent poll.

On our last full day in Ireland, we took a boat over to see one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. The view was CRAZY and we literally felt like we were on the edge of the world. I did the best I could to reduce the noise, but the wind was absolutely insane and I could only do so much, sorry!

Aran Island experience via Aer Arann
One of my best day trip was at Aran Islands near Galway Bay. I drove with my friends from Dublin to Galway and our original plan was to get a ferry to the Island, but we got delayed on the road, so decided to fly instead with Aer Arann. It turned out to be an amazing experience and I even got to sit next to the pilot on our way back.
We landed at Inishmore one of the main Island and rented bicycles to explore the island. We cycle our way to Dún Aonghasa, an ancient fort from the bronze and iron age with magnificent view of Atlantic ocean. There were few shops on the Island but we brought snacks and sandwiches in our backpack to last us for the day. If you are visiting Galway and have a day left in your itinerary, I would highly recommend a trip to Aran Islands.
